- As an Amazon Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases. Hour meter installation in about 2 minutes. This is a Hustler Raptor. I'm installing an hour meter on it. This is a Husqvarna Hour meter that I bought on Amazon, and has dual functions. Of course, it shows the "hours" on the mower, but it also lets you know when it's time for an oil change.

I knew that the more expensive mowers come with one, and wanted one for this machine.
Looked up some vids on installing one, and this seemed to be the best meter for the application.

They might put a gas gauge there on some other models... but not sure.
Wow, thank you for the video, without it I would have just stuck it on the outside not knowing there was a "predrilled" spot for it. Can't wait to install one now as it's ready for the first oil change so perfect timing!
One question, why is it a Husqvarna brand and not Hustler? Does Husqvarna own Hustler? Regardless, thanks for the link!
I don't know if Hustler has a meter you can buy.

How did you know which conductor on the harness went to which terminal on the meter? I have the meter in hand, my mower is Husqvarna front engine rider. And what is the purpose of the unused third terminal on the meter? My meter has no diagram.
I don't know what the 3rd terminal is for, and I don't know what the harness on your Husky mower looks like. Get a volt meter and see which one of the leads is "hot" when you turn the key on, then hook it up to the same terminal I hooked the red wire to on this meter. I don't think it would hurt the meter to hook it up and try it.

You could have made it faster and neater cutting diagonally corner to corner my father is a upholster seen him do it but nice job never seen one he is Ireland 😊😊😊
It's a tight fit but without removing the rubber from 3 sides hour meter won't fit. But a great idea.
Does the LCD display eventually go out? Don't want it to be draining the battery.
You can probably wire it to the "switch" so it's on, only when the switch is on.
I wanted to have it on all the time so I could just see the batt charge when I walked by it.
@@BIGALTX Thanks. I was thinking of wiring it into a switched supply. Was hoping that the factory wires were that way, looks like I was wrong.
Slick. Is there an hourmeter that I could install on my old Ford tractor and update it with the number of hours that I know are already on the tractor?
I assume you could use one like this connected to the ignition switch.
As to "catching up" to the hours on the tractor... You could just hook it up to a battery (before you install it on the tractor) and let the hours build op on the meter till they match your tractor's hour meter.
Actually, I used this mower for an hour before I installed the meter. Since I am a stickler for details, I just left the key on for about an hour so the meter would match what is on the machine :)
So basically anyone that wants to cheat on hours of use for resell can buy another one of these?

Do u know if installing this hour meter will void the warranty or not? Just bought a hustler 23hp 52” cut and it didn’t come with an hour meter. Thanks in advance.

I doubt it.
Mine is Hustler Raptor 52”... brand new too.
The upgraded Raptor comes with a meter, so I don’t think they care.
Also, if service is needed, you’ll be going to a local shop, not the manufacturer.
I would think they would welcome someone installing a meter. Let’s them know when to service it correctly.
How much did you pay for yours?

I am glad God didn't put hour meters on us. Lol. I like them on all my equipment.
We do have a meter (Psalms 90:12)
We just can't read it :)
