It was originally sung by Daniel Balavoine and later by Gregory Lemarchal. But their style is nothing like Dimash’s. After this performance, Dimash was invited to perform on the France 2 program Les Annees Bonheur, where he received a standing ovation. This was actually the first performance for the China competition's new season of The Singer 2017 [which was why the crowd was excited for it to start at the beginning] -- but what is often overlooked is that he was pretty much a complete unknown to that audience [he's from Kazakhstan and didn't speak any Chinese at that time], and he was the least expected or anticipated to do much since he was pretty much unknown to the audience [which is why he was placed to go first -- the most anticipated singers were set to perform last on that episode]. This was the first round of "I Am a Singer," so nobody knew who he was, or had any expectation he'd be so great. His dad is a famous singer in Kazakhstan, which is why Dimash went abroad to prove himself -- to sing somewhere he wouldn't be known because of his family name. You can see his dad in the audience when he sings Opera 2 -- the camera cuts to a good looking older man from time to time. That's his father.

He is so famous in Europe but in America he needs to be no to everyone I am a dear that is what he calls all his fans out there I adore that boy there is no one like him on the planet even in my country he is known now because I sent my family his videos and they played it for others and those others sent it to their friends and so on and so on that's what you need to do. He is so loved by people around the world, I can't wait to get his music here and America.

This was the first round of "I Am a Singer," so nobody knew who he was, or had any expectation he'd be so great. His dad is a famous singer in Kazakhstan, which is why Dimash went abroad to prove himself -- to sing somewhere he wouldn't be known because of his family name. You can see his dad in the audience when he sings Opera 2 -- the camera cuts to a good looking older man from time to time. That's his father.

Dimash did a duet with a bass singer of Notre Dame de Paris (I believe before this competition in 2017). Happy that you recognized the French… Dimash has sung in (over?) 15 languages by now, but speaks Kazakh, Russian, English and some Mandarin. Cheers from Canada!
