    Hello and thanks again for a useful tutorial. So according to this it's recommended to sand every piece of your model whole even if you plan to paint it? The difference would be up to what grit you take it?

    • @animousworks
      @animousworks  3 месяца назад

      When straight building your kit. I recommend sanding to eliminate mold lines and seam lines.
      I always sand my parts prior to painting. The difference would be the grit to take it to.

      Ok thanks for the tip, I'll try sanding my model parts then because I find the base I'm using to highlight metallics is not having a smooth flat finish even when I washed the parts to eliminate any grease.

    • @animousworks
      @animousworks  3 месяца назад

      @salute31 it's not a problem. However, it seems that having issues with the finish might be caused by another thing. Care to share more?

      @@animousworks sure, I'm trying to use Alclad II gloss black base to paint metallic on it. I've seen videos and pics of people using it and the finish look smooth, but I find my finish somewhat grainy, little bit coarse you might say. I've heard you dont need to thin that base but I'm not sure if I'm setting my compressor at the correct pressure. 1st time I used .38 needle at 18psi, 2nd time .5mm at 20 and last time .5mm at 15psi. Should I lower to 12psi still using
      .5mm besides sanding pieces completely?

      @@salute31 have you tried giving it a few light coats and then a heavy coat? I use the same and always get a smooth finish. Even without sanding as a base. What metallic colors are you using?
