As a disabled veteran, 15 back procedures, 4 rotator cuff surgeries, knee replacement. This is a no brainier for me and my jeep gladiator
Even if it doesn't work? ie; won't stay in place and/or lets water in?
@@texxs01 if it doesn't work, then obviously I'm not going to purchase it. On the other hand, it's light weight, easy to install. I'd give it a go if it weren't so expensive.
@@joseangelrivasjr.7710 That's what I'm saying, most of us are watching it are looking for the answers to my questions. And no, we can't know the answers to those questions until we see it tested or buy it and test ourselves.
You should add a velcro of some sort that can be attach to water proffing foam that is leak proof for water proffing so rain/water wont get inside the trunk bed. 🤓👍🏻
What about the 2 holes near the cab?
The most common observation in testing is the water infiltration through the forward edge along the box where it meets the cap when raining, also watched a video when a fellow road in the back while someone drove, lots of water coming through the top rear door window. A lot of their items had moisture on them from these 2 entry points. Kind of concerning for what you pay for these..
They are really convenient to remove and store away is the reason I would get one but I wouldn't use it if I want my stuff more secure compared to hard covers.
Cheers
Thanks for the comments Patrick, we like to focus on the convenience of being able to have a solid topper to protect your stuff from he elements and being able to store it in a backpack when not in use.
Thank you for the demonstration. I am considering a Flated for my truck. I have a 2014 F-150 SuperCab.
My question: For a solo female truck camper like myself, how might the Flated truck cap be secured for safety? I am able to lock a traditional truck cap when sleeping in the back but how might I do so with the Flated? Thank you! I do have other safety measures which I will not disclose online but mechanically speaking, is it possible to attach a locking mechanism?
Well there is not a way at the moment to completely lock it, but windows are tinted to the point where you can't see inside. That said its loud enough getting into that your would have time with your other safety measures!
@@FLATED Thanks so much for the reply!
Thank you
Would love to see a video inflating and deflating the topper. I'm can't seem to find one amongst your other videos. Looks like a great product!
Thanks for the comment Greg, we have a time lapse posted on our social feed and will get it up on youtube soon.
I watched a guy on youtube do it in a sped up time lapse, and he was worn out afterwards. I'd get an electric pump!
That’s dope but why are they so expensive compared to hard toppers and soft toppers
The drop stitch construction is expensive to produce and the convenience is well worth it.
Have you seen the prices for a hardtop for a jeep Gladiator? They start off at $3,000
Bed corners closest to the cab leak air and water it's not sealed completely now many will say use a seal lmao every time you use it replace the seal such a good deal on top of 2000.00
Hi Kenneth, we are working on a fix for this on next generation Air-Toppers. For now we can send you some foam tape to add to the corners.
You are the man is there one for a dodge 3500 ram 2007 dually . Am getting one
can this topper hold street, highway speed or is this for stationary use only like camping?
Yes, it can handle highway speeds. They have be doing road trips around the country all summer.
No pne really wants to see the install. We want to see road/weather testing. These things cost a small fortune and if they don't work . . .
Awesome product. Do you make sizes to fit Australian vehicles? Definitely interested. Cheers Luke.
Its very expensive just under 2 grand
If your looking to camp in the bed of your truck I can suggest a napier 57 series truck tent absolutely awesome and napier offers many styles the 57 allows for more head room for a good air mattress for Two
Thanks Luke! The Air-Toppers are limited to 3 sizes that fit multiple different makes and models, so check the dims and see if one size will fit your truck.
I have a full size 1997 Ford F-150 super cab would this work for it? Or is it only for mid-sized trucks?
Yes, we have sizes for 5.5 ft, 6.5 and 8' for the Full Size FORD's.
$800 or $1000. That's what it would be worth to me. Maybe. They leak. No real security not even fake security. At least with a hard top you have to dixk with some locks even if it only takes a minute that is a minute of suspicious activity as opposed to lifting a flap.
I would only pay $800 to $1000 for the convenience of that product.
Pros. Quick easy. Keeps your stuff mostly dry and out of the sun. Smooths airflow over small trailers.
Thank you for your thoughts on the pricing, but its not possible for us to make them for that. You can compare to Quality inflatable paddle boards and white water rafts to get an idea of how much the material costs. Our toppers use more material and are much more complicated to make.
@@FLATED totally understood. (I work for a small business and know what it takes and how a small price change can mean no sale vs no profit. However, That is my (opinion on my value of needing a topper) price point and why. I am instead going to waste even more money and time to make my own (aluminum) in an attempt to get what I want for less knowing that I will probably spend more than if I just bought one.
Where do you buy these? Website or anything
You can find the products at Getflated.com with free shipping.
The hook in the back by tje tailgate should be turned around. Less chance of it slipping off
Great idea and we are working on that.
How does this product to in the rain? Or along the coast line camping for the weekend?
It has weather striping around the connection so you don't have any weather getting in.
I have a short bed 2018 Titan. Any idea if your topper works on a Titan?
Should be our Full-Size short bed, but need to take the tape measure out to confirm. Or call us and we can walk you though it.
what's the benefit of this over soft topper?
it stores in a bag when you want to use your truck with a bed and there is so much more room.
Why are these things so expensive? answer: It's not "supply and demand" contolling pricing in a lot of industries, it's "whatever the market will bear" (charge as much as people will pay).
Make a jeep and bronco top replacement and you’ll have gold.
working on some samples for those models.
Almost 2000.00
Its a bargain for what you are getting.
@@FLATED Spoken like a true salesman. (Instead of listening like a true business man). I would love one, it would make it convenient to switch from hauling scuba gear (protection from the sun) to putting my motorbike in the bed. But not at that price.
😂 $1900 dollars ? Love the idea but hell no for that price.
$1850.00 really??
Really. Same materials and Technology as Premium SUP's and White water rafts. You can check pricing on those and understand its not a cheap material.
$1900 for a leaky canopy? No thank you.
Your product is so awesome but what are the prices but I will be getting one because I need a top or sometimes but your product and your company is awesome
Well thank you.
I just looked up this topper on internet...i cant justify spending 1900 dollars on that..😳
Well thanks for finding us. Sorry you can't justify it, but that's OK. We know its not for everyone, but well worth it for our customers who understand the problems it solves.
