@@Raindrop_2401 Epic, but not that good; I might be biased because he somehow hit and killed me as I did an attack when I was 90% of the way through. Note that Super Sonic is supposed to be invincible, him hitting me was a glitch.

They are working on a Devil’s Second remaster for Switch first, but they’re removing the 3D, which has proved to take a while.

@@aidenbar511 mega man games were good because of the level design more than anything. Every good run and gun game hinges on whether the level layouts are fun to go through or are just repetitive and boring. You can play mega man games with just the mega buster without using the dash or slide and it's still fun.

Austin Taylor Surprisingly, yeah. There aren’t as many as there used to be, and you have to actively look for them, but they’re still getting made. And thank God for that.

Really interesting (especially those behind-the-scenes development details)! I actually remember seeing this unveiled back at E3 2014 and thinking the genre-melding of third-person action and FPS was one of the most novel and promising things Nintendo showed that year. Hearing that, while not good, it wasn't anywhere near the disaster the review scores made it out to be all these years later is weirdly vindicating.
The mutliplayer was amazing though I've probably spent about 200 hours on the singleplayer alone. It was really addicting.

It seems like this game really, REALLY wanted to be Metal Gear.

I remember reading forums and seeing people that were hardcore into the multiplayer talk about how they spent hundreds of dollars on the microtransactions. When the online was shut down the Miiverse for the game was filled with posts like "so long my comrades" and "I know one day I'll meet all the brothers in arms I met in this game in a different life." Devil's Third is more that a 3/10. It's a way of life.

So if this was planned to be a trilogy and this is the first game called Devil's THIRD, what the heck happened to the first and the second? Were the sequels going to be Devil's fourth and fifth? Or were they going to go backwards and make it even more convoluted. [Introducing Devil's First! The THIRD and final entry into the "critically acclaimed" Devil's? franchise]. That would make literally no sense either way. Oh and what is the Devil's? What does he have at least three of in his possession that he so wishes to inform us about? Is it three dead bodies? I would imagine he would have plenty more than three bodies after all the people died of brain aneurysms after trying to make sense of this title. Three horns? Well if that's the case Devil, that's just a little too much information, if y'all know what I mean. Three stress onset brain tumors? Now we're talking.
Am I overthinking this meaningless title to this Wii U game I've never played. Debatable but probably. Was the title probably explained in the game. Likely. Am I still mad at the developers for giving me a migraine. Of course!

I'll admit I'm being salty here, this game got localized over games like earthbound , captain rainbow, some Pokemon games, and any Zelda spinoff game featuring tingle
And if there's anything we don't have enough of, it's offing Zelda and Pokemon.
I mean this was basically instance 3598 of the industry having to relearn once again that you can't just throw resources at a big name and get guaranteed success.

Won't lie, this was one of the hardest games for me to beat. Cheap bosses aside (Amy Winehouse AKA Jane Doe was ridiculously hard for me) the most difficult sections came about because of glitches. There was a dock I had to clear of enemies at one point and in 2 hours of trying I just couldn't get it. So I turned the game off and reloaded later. Upon reloading I found out that during the whole 2 hours I tried before I was supposed to have 4 back up units with me, they just weren't spawning. My god this game was frustrating.
Almost all the bosses can be taken down in no time. The dodging mechanic is also OP as hell. Time it right and you'll never be hit.

Devil's Third is so bad, its good. The online multiplayer was actually pretty good. Too bad it got canned a few months after it came out.
I dunno how many people will read this but an amusing addendum: Japan LOVED the multiplayer in this! The main game? No one cared, but for some reason they got really hyped for the multiplayer. I did play it, it was pretty good. Make a character, climb up walls, switch between guns and swords. Kind of like a more tame Gunz: The Duel. That's why they did a PC port of just the multiplayer and also why the company created a sub-studio called Soleil and began to focus on multiplayer arena combat games like Naruto: Shinobi Strikers and Ninjala.
Your physical version of the "quote unquote joke" was quite possibly one of the best I've ever seen. I rolled back the video three times to see it again.
I started this video with my volume turned off and seeing Scott's face made me hear "Hey all Scott here" in my head. Truly this man is beyond science.

Johnny Takigero That’s why I don’t trust Famitsu. They also gave Sonic Forces a 35/40 I believe. They rate their games way too high.
Famitsu are famously corrupt when it comes to review scores,
People bitch about Western game media but Famitsu is on a whole other level. Ethics of journalism are pretty universal in the West but Japan is a different culture. Famitsu reviews should be seen as ads in our view of media.
I think they gave Amiibo Festival a 32 or 33 out of 40 and Umbella Corps 36, that it's just pathetic.

Huh, I recently was listening to a podcast from when this game was running about previews and stuff, and the word was that while journalists previewing it weren't fans, the director was a big advocate for stylish action games that struck a chord with niche audiences (devil may cry and such), so it wasn't likely that those on the receiving ends of previews would "get" it. Sounds like it ended up not working out at all for even the intended audiences.

The Game Grumps play through was a lot of fun. Shame they didn't get very far due to low views. It's one of very few series in the last couple of years that you can tell they really enjoyed playing.
