Rest in Peace to Subroc, DOOM, and his son. I'm sure there was a beautiful reunion and that anger that made the villain we loved in the first place has passed. The universe owe 'em.
This is more than just a tribute, this is literally history class. These stories aren't just bars written about a hypothetical or a person they never met. This was a peer, a friend, an ally if you will, my condolences to all close to him, family and fans. Rest in peace DOOM! May your legacy live on forever!
The love is insane. Just the raw and deep cuts Aes is dropping is fucking insanity. The pearl white Acura and the mac and cheese timberlands is touching back to how they actually met. Aesop Rock is definitely taking it to school. "Breeze said we lost are Jordan! I would sprinkle in some Vorhees and agree."
Aesop's verse here is just so insanely good. Heartfelt, vulnerable, tributary. All while effortlessly destroying this beat with his trademark coolness. DOOM would be thrilled hearing this.
Totally agree - you can really feel how much DOOM'S passing really affected both aes and sandman. This track is just such an awesome tribute DOOM'S legacy. Even if the masses don't realize the genius that the scene was built off of, we will all know that he was irreplaceable in creating rap as we know it today.
MY COMPUTER FROM NOW STAYS ON CAPS LOCK FOREVER! Aes's verse was so heartwarming especially those lines about the nikes on the wire and then of course meeting DOOM and rapping with him. Sandman blew it out the park too, weaving the DOOM lines is such a good feeling for the DOOM heads over the years. All in all incredible, a true tribute to DOOM man. R.I.P, his inspiration will live on through generations man.

DOOM’s Datura Stramonium for anyone curious. Ace used it in Me and My Gang.
