    I couldn't find the second (finished) install on the socket. I've not been successful at installing the socket without taking off the faring's. I've had my fairing off a couple of times to install the fog lights, dual USB chargers and just now the Denali Soundbomb Split horn. The horn video will be up on youtube ASAP. My channel has several Versys X300 installs like full LED conversion, Barkbusters, skid plate and 15 Tooth front sprocket with rubber cushion. More coming. Thanks for your video.

    Thanks for the video. You inspired me to add a socket. I got the 90 degree screwdriver at Harbor Freight as you recommended. No matter how I tried, I couldn't connect to the screw that holds the plug. I learned that by bending the transverse piece of metal under the dash, the plug rises a bit from the dash and can be unscrewed while holding the metal piece. Easy! The Kawi socket I bought for $25 has wires that are too short, so I had to use bullet terminals and short pieces of braided wire to make the connection. All works fine. Thank you again

      Thanks Dean! I was new to the Versys in 2017. Not a lot of videos on how to install so I guess I learned the hard way! Good advice for the install!

      800ed! I never thought of that! Maybe I'll try that technique when I install the aux lights on the other side.

    So the socket has Male 2 bullet connectors on both ends. The Bike has a female connector and a male bullet connector. Do I need to cut and splice the male to male bullet connectors?

      Did you have to extend the outlet's wires?

    • @wilslt
      @wilslt  6 лет назад

      No I didn't need to extend the outlet wires, just cut the zip ties. When making the connection it was very tight. Extending the wires would have made it a bit easier.

    Hi Larry, thanks for posting the video. I am doing this on my versys 300 now, I removed all the fairing for easy access to the bullet connectors, the issue I have is that when I put a multi meter on them It only shoes 0.1 vaults?

    According to the repair manual, you need to remove a few of the side fairings. Makes access a lot easier.

    If you don't want to buy a new tool to remove the cap, you can just remove the grommet the fairing clips into and use a normal screwdriver to unscrew the screw holding the cap through the hole

      Funny! Mine falls apart at will sometimes. Put it back together and it still works. One of them quit all together and they replaced it no questions asked.
