Hear me out. Restoration of Carthage playthrough, Laith starts in one of the counties in the Sahara Desert. Hard mode: he gets one life to get as far as he can.
Yes, in Europe we have our own species of bisons called "zubr". There were plenty of them in medieval time. Also, at this time wild cow still was numerous.
27:43 Okay I get adding Pursuit of Power or Warmonger instead of Sanctity of Nature, that Tenet is severely underpowered and doesn't really do a good job of mechanically reflecting it's fluff, but Kudikis Lemti is literally the unique Tenet of Vidilism, it feels kinda against the spirit of the video to replace it at all, particularly with something like Mendicant Preachers.
Laith one thing I’ve realised is you never use your most valuable commodity, unmarried female courtiers, you can use them to bring in great men for your council and great knights
Syphilis first appeared in 1496 in French soldiers in Southern Italy, before any European had reached the Andes where llamas are native to, in ck3 the lover's pox likely refers to herpes and in older versions the now removed great pox likely refered to syphilis
Ive been playing a lot of Imperator Rome because of you Laith and its fun but its nice to come back to CK3. Cant wait for the new DLC and become a wandering Varangian Guard
Amazing coincidence that this is nearly the same playthough I am doing! I decided I'd form Livonia since it's one of the unique decisions I've never done, so I was hard-out Vidilist. By the time I got around to reforming the faith, my character was the sole surviving male of my dynasty after multiple black deaths (I swear they need to nerf how often it appears on 'normal' plague frequency), and he was sadistic and lustful (not at all the heir I would have wanted). So naturally it was Carnal Exaltation with Deviancy considered virtuous. One tip I found was that if you have access to the special archers in the region, they are extremely OP in taiga and forest. If you can bait enemies into attacking you in taiga you have a *huge* advantage if you stack up on them. My Latgalian culture had the option to recruit a forest commander, which if they have enough prowess to have an accolade allows them to have the Archer trait, letting you stack insane amounts of archers. This allows you to get an archer accolade super early and very easily.
You conquered Poland and Hungary for the Vidilist faith? May the blessing of Saule and Meness be with you. The crusaders are not allowed in these lands! May Lithuania prosper! Also this quote: "Our sister is our friend now? Thats wholesome! Now lets marry her off 😈" Honestly? That was evil.
You're doing it wrong mate. Start as a viking in 867, varangian adventure to Curonia, take over Aalborg and Braslau, convert to vidilism, become Defender of Dievas, you now control 3 holy sites, reform vidilism to and add necessary tenets for holy wars, get Divine Blood and start spreading the true faith, you should have all this before 910 :)) you can get Livonia and Latgaliand dutchies and Proclaim Terra Mariana for a sweet title and a kingdom. You can hybridize with latgalina culture and get Hirds tradition and forest wardens, which means you now have huscarls and metsanviertja archers aka you are a boss as long as you fight in woodlands (aka the whole of the baltic empire...see where I'm going?)
I still find it very odd how little eu4 and ck3 have when it comes to Baltic content. Would be nice to see events surrounding the first king of the Balts (Mindaugas irl for us), the mythical founding of cities like Vilnius, legendary conquerers like Algirdas, etc. The current thing about only having 1 subjugation per lifetime is really goofy considering Mindaugas irl did that to multiple tribes during his reign
13:05 Those woods were full of wisents (Polish "żubr"), also known as European wood bison. There are not American bison, which are commonly referred as just bison (e.g. in Polish "bizon" refers only to American bison, while "żubr" refers only to European wood bison). While there are some American bison living in woods, American bison are mostly plains animals living in large herds. While wisents are exclusively living in forest and live in way smaller groups. Hence wisents are a little bit smaller and more stealthier than American bison. Although I have no idea which one is easier to hunt - American bison in open plains or wisents in deep woods. In modern day most of wisents live in deep woods of Polish-Belarusian borderland.
Reminds me, of a time where I played Ck2 as Lithuania in 769, as Romuva is pretty op, I managed to form the kingdom as my first character that had stewardship and reformed the faith on my second character, I'm on my third or fourth character and recently got a genius child
Hey Laith, *your troops being bad* could be because of your army being comparatively more made up of levies than his and/or his MAA being stationed in holdings that significantly boost them.
Lisan Al GAIB!! Always down for a Laith Atreides video haha I’m pissed off with Crusader Kings though. I’m so upset how my last game just went to crap I wanted to restore Israel so I started off as a Created Jewish Character in Crete and swore allegiance to the Byzantine’s After 4 generations and conquering the kingdoms of Cyprus, Syria and finally Jerusalem, creating the Romaniote Jews culture and winning Independence from the Byzantines I restored Israel! Only for the fucking Crusades to land while I was trying to take Egypt. I lost Israel, I lost my Holy war Casus Beli and instead of waiting to build up again I tried to take Israel back while I still had mercenary troops and got demolished, now I don’t even have my claim to the kingdom… I had Israel for all of 5 minutes.. I can never look at a Holy War the same way again lol I’ll try fix it again but I was absolutely devastated at the time. Proper crushed haha
In CK3, the quality of troop is dependent on the ratio of Men At Arms to normal levies. If you have way more levies than special troops, your quality will drop. That an the prowess skill of the knights in the army is calculated, so if you have 8 knights but their prowess is like 5 or lower, they'll tank your quality too.
Smh Laith you keep leaving the “fertile” filter on when looking for wives. Also it’s not tile or landed that loses you legitimacy it’s the fact that they’re lowborn which you can also filter out.
My father is from Samogitia and mother from Lithuania. The pagan religion was called Romuva. Not sure why it's something different. Last pagans of Europe. Fun watch.
If you want to revive pagan faiths play as Erik the Heathen in 1066. You are of the house Munso and a descendant of Ragnarr Lothbrok through his son Bjorn Ironside. You also have start with a claim to the Kingdom of Sweden.
Bro warmonger already does the thing unrelenting faith does . You've had wasted a tenet on it instead of picking communion which give you infinite money there's literally no benefit in being secular head if don't have communion.
I managed to switch it around so pagans were murdering Catholics game as jorvik I conquered half of Europe converting all of them to the Norse faith and also conquered the entirety of Italy abolishing the papacy the Catholics kind of fled to Siberia

he plays very sloppily in general :D
Syphilis first appeared in 1496 in French soldiers in Southern Italy, before any European had reached the Andes where llamas are native to, in ck3 the lover's pox likely refers to herpes and in older versions the now removed great pox likely refered to syphilis
count on the french and italians to be so horny they discover a new disease 😭
And idea why the Great Pox was removed?
@bencollier3758 because the first evidence of syphilis is after 1453, the end of the game, and so it inclusion was anachronistic
@@hopelesaromantic I suspected it was that but didn't realise the game ended in 1453. That seems too early despite my never making it there.

34:45 Welf of the Welf Dynasty, Son of Welf Count of Ravensburg seems to have become King of Poland
Hey Laith -- remember that you can station your MaA to get them a bonus! I'm at 12:41 and very sad that they are unstationed.
At 200k you need to make an Irish Empire and make the English Celtic!
Laith, it appears to me you havent waged enough holy wars. You need to change that with a part 2
