I’ve got a 640i too - lovely car. I’ve noticed that the brand new 5 series is now as long as the GT and looks more like the GT than the previous 5 series did. I’m saddened that BMW no longer sell the GT in Britain.
I do detailing and yesterday a new 7 series with m packet and beautiful frozen matt grey color came for basic clean. I fell in love with the design immediately. But i get it’s not for everyone
I really hope that BMW would keep 6 GT for future as well, it's very underrated and my personal fav. If anyone from BMW is reading this, just give the customers of X5 and 5 series a complimentary test drive of 6 GT. It will help boost the sales for the 6. Maybe even launch a M6 GT.
The BMW dealers are the problem, many of them are clueless as to what the 6GT was - I bought 3 GT’s over 6 years and I knew more about the car than the dealer did.
Beauiful family car! Basically the 7 series Touring. It has even more back space and storage capacity than the 5 series Touring but the air suspension is far more smooth and comfortable.
@@justsayno1734 I still love my 630d GT, we managed to fit one of those Rattan single-seater swings in the back of it. The owner of the shop was so impressed he had to take a picture of it😆 Try that in the 7 or 8 series.
This is literally the only car BMW hasn't fucked up its design. It looks so much better compared to the latest 7 series. It's also just the right size for people who doesn't necessarily like the sw design of the 5 series. It's a shame that it doesn't come with an e-drive system, that would make it so economical for families and people who doesn't want to spend too much money on the long term...
People hate on this new 6 GT but it’s a pretty good looking car with a decent practiality alternative to the 5er touring. Hell the M550i engine in this would be such a meme
The old 6 Gran Coupe looked awesome. The rear of this one is hell ugly 🤮BMW went from beautiful to ugly, at least when it comes to the rear. The front is ok.
Dude you have a bad taste of exterieur ..... this is why most people will never buy this. Older gen is much better. Want practicals? Then go for touring or suv of other labels
I preferred this to the sedan or the touring, it is not so sporty as them but more comfortable, practicable and more spacious, the platform is a combination between 5 and 7 and also I like it even more that is unique (or different) even if it is not everyone's cup of tea.
I bought the 630d GT M-Sport when it first launched in Thailand beginning of 2018. Out of the five BMW's I've had, this is hands down the best. It's faster than the 640i as well. 6.1 seconds 0-100 km/h. The amount of space in it is incredible, exterior measurements are identical to a short wheel-base 7 series. Shame if they stop making them as the rest of BMW's line-up is rubbish these days. IMHO of course 😁
640i GT 340HP makes 100 in 5.2 sec officially, practically in 5s. with full exhaust and chiptuning you can make time under 4sec, it's just fast as a bmw multipla ;)
You're correct, it's been a while since I posted this and I have no idea why I thought the 640i was slower than the 630d. It's not even close. I sold my 630d GT in February, got half the price for it after 5 full years, which was too good to refuse. Just heard there won't be a new 6 Gt, going forward. Shame that.@@badgastein2
@@KimCJorgensen Respect to you for acknowledging that correction. I have the new BMW series 2 active tourer as my daily car and the 640i for weekends and holidays which keeps the mileage very low. I do worry about if the full air suspension on this car will continue to be faultless due to rubber components having a finite life but other than that no plans to sell it. When it does need replacing it would be a choice between the 5 and 7 series although the 7 is now only made in long wheelbase which is too big for English country lanes.
Are guys reviewing the new 2023 M340i LCI ? Very interested to see if there are any performance changes! Thanks guys, I am a big fun of your work and also love the B58 engine 😉
BMW has switched a lot between the 6 series and 8 series but it's basically the same car in the same class. After the 6 series E24 in the '80s they had the E31 8 series in the '90s and after that there was the 6 series E63 in the early 2000s. Now we are back with the 8 series.
The 8 series is a direct replacement for the old 6 series type i.e pre 2018. The 6 series is now exclusively the GT and the GT is basically a hatchback version of the old 7 series.
Ah, so it appears they saw the error of their ways and went with physical buttons again? Sadly unlike the new 2023 3-series LCI which even has its shortcut buttons removed, which was a hallmark BMW property. Hopefully they will keep the physical buttons in the next generations for all their models, though this might just be wishful thinking. It's of course also possible (likely?) they just weren't able to fit the new interior with that single wide screen and removed physical buttons in this LCI but I can only hope it's the first case. Good-looking car, good-looking interior, this one
Is a niche. And for me is not useless, quite the opposite. Tell me one spacious BMW in the actual range which is not SUV or Touring, in which you can easily load a bike or a Christmas tree or some other stuff which families are carrying.
@@SimJoy you buy a car based on this one time you need to load a christmas tree? bikes can be mounted outside of your car and space is important for you but not enough to buy the station version of the 5 series? to me those GT models look overweight and bulky like an SUV but even less practical. if the 5th door is important why not directly go for a better looking car like the stinger, A7, ...
@@Doa744 I buy a car based on our family needs and my needs, those were just examples. I have carried a lot of stuff with my previous car which was the Superb B6 limousine. I do not like the Touring or big SUV and my wife also do not like the Touring. And their back is getting always easy dirty. A7 is good looking but less practical and less space on the rear seats compared with the 6GT. I also do long trips, sometimes 15-16 hours with my wife and my boys and the trunk at 600 liters is still full, comfort is also very important. I do not like or want to use outside mounts or jetbags. Again, for me was the best choice and replacement for the Superb.
