    Looks like very little clearance between the prop and the ground?

    Richtig geil so ein Sternmotor
    Wenn eine FW-190 mal auf dem Degerfeld wäre würde ich glaub fast den Tränen nahe sein
    Das beste Flugzeug aller Zeiten 😍

      FW 190 siehst Du echt selten. Letztes mal war Sie für OTT16 angesagt - kam aber nicht.

      von wo wäre sie denn gekommen?
      wäre es die von Marc Mathis gewesen, die, die er damals notwassern musste?

      Das wäre die Jurca FW 190 aus paderborn gewesen. Ein 1:1 Nachbau ganz aus Holz aber ebenfalls mit 14 Zylinder Doppelsternmotor, wenn auch etwas schwächer als ein BMW oder Ash.

    are the odd black strips down the side there to hide the dirty exhaust stains ?

    • @Warbirds

      Makes cleaning less regular

      @@Warbirds I own 2 t-28 planes, both are remote control, it is a very popular model among rc flyers - the black markings on the sides are very unique and makes identification very easy when they are in the air - but I did not know until now - that its function was to hide stains - that was my guess after I saw the plane in the video start up and noticed the path of the dirty smoke.

    How is the canopy closed from the front? A hand crank?

    • @nickkristoff8509
      @nickkristoff8509 2 года назад +1

      Lever activated hydraulic

    • @KutWrite
      @KutWrite 11 месяцев назад

      Yes, and can be pneumatically blown open in an emergency. Carrier landings were normally performed with the canopy open.

    Ironic, an Air Force T-28 in US Navy livery without a tailhook & sporting an Air Force serial number.

    • @paulcavnar2792

      I don't believe any T-28's were outfitted with a tail hook.

    • @michaelparr3928
      @michaelparr3928 5 лет назад +2

      Paul, there were 299 T-28C a/c manufactured with tailhooks & the prop had shorter blades with squared-off tips. (Source: National Naval Aviation Museum)

      The Navy used the T-28B and the T-28C. The C had a tailhook and a notch in the rear fuselage to accommodate it, also a slightly shorter prop with square blade tips. I don't know what would necessarily makes this an Air Force plane, which looks just like a T-28B? The Air Force did initially use the T-28A also, with a smaller engine and 2 bladed prop.

      It is displaying an AF style serial number under the tail 49-1742.

      My guess, noting the streamlined prop spinner, it's a T-28 "Fennec"....

    The T-28 is not a beautiful aircraft(IMHO) but the sound is so bad ass....
