Wow!!! That's the only word I can come up with!!
great work, a video of the figures would be great.
This could be a cake idea for a pirate themed party.
What is knife of name? Please help me
If you're in Atlanta a day can make this cake please hmu! Lol
What did you do to make it shiny?
Could I use some chocolate mousse filling instead of ganache?
hi could you please put the tutorial of the pirate and the crocodile?
La recette de génoise svp
Captain hook and crocodile please
how much fondant did you use for this cake? Do you know if after putting the ganache how well it will hold up in the refrigerator before decorating?
Weebel Duran I can't remember the exact amount but I reckon it was around 2kg of fondant. You don't have to keep the cake in the fridge at all, I just did because of the extreme high temperatures here.
would love to try this tutorial for my son's birthday... but please tell us how did you make the fondant shiny and glossy? thank you😊
ttzerskie mhemhe You can steam it. That's the common way. Mine got shiny as I took the picture when I removed the cake from the fridge. As it was quite hot that day it caused some condensation on the outside that dries after a while.
Thank you so much for your immediate response... im planning to make this cake tomorrow... God bless you😊
Very nice cake!
How many would that size feed?
Thanks :)
Gabo2103 it would serve about 40 people, depending on the size you cut them...
for how many people does it feed? I need to make one for 10 people.
thank youn in advance
Do you have a receipt for the ganache
Jane Samy no sorry not yet. But I use 2.5 parts dark chocolate to 1 part chocolate
1 part cream I mean
there is a thing attached to your knife and i would like to know where you buy one of these...
Jane Samy which knife do you mean? The scalpel?
+SimplyBakeCakes the one you use to cut out the cake... it's like a leveller. where can I get one of these, and how is it called?
Jane Samy Ahh...I see which ones you mean. I use them to level my cakes. You simply insert a knife or blade at the desired level. Very handy and much cheaper than regular cake leveler. Hi, you said you made TWO 12x9 inch cakes? Is this the same quantities as your link: ruclips.net/video/31icG4fil5o/видео.html
I wanted to check as it seems like a lot of cake (when making two)! Also, in your video, when the two 12x9 cakes are wrapped in cling film and then in the next shot the first section is placed on the silver board, it looks narrower in width?
Belinda Brooke The recipe is the same but quantity is different. Think I doubled the recipe per cake
Sorry, now I'm even more confused! haha. Do you mean you have doubled the recipe in this link ruclips.net/video/31icG4fil5o/видео.html To make two 12x9 inch cakes (so I can attempt to make your amazing pirate ship cake!), do I need to make this recipe twice? For example, the recipe says 7 eggs, therefore to make enough for two 12x9 inch cakes I would need 14 eggs?
Belinda Brooke no I mean double the recipe for each. But depending on how much servings you need you can obviously use less in a smaller pan...
Belinda Brooke sorry I wasn't clear on this. Following my recipe you would use ONE full recipe PER cake (yes 14 eggs in total, 2x7).
Thanks for the clarification! I hope it turns out! :-)
What is "torted"?
Carol Ilse Anne That's when you cut a cake horizontally. You can torte a layer one or more.
I see, so it's sliced, or split horizontally? I understand "torte" as a gateau which seemed rather excessive. Thank you for your explanation.
Why does the boat look wet and shiny?
lilylollipop10 because it was around 30C that day and I had kept the cake in the fridge. When I took it out condensation formed which made it look wet/shiny but it disappears after a while...
