Section 8 housing requires that everyone who lives in household who’s over the age of 18 has to be listed on the contract. All incomes have to be considered. Rent is based on that but since daughter is not working the only income is the mother. The mother is primary on the lease.

Agreed, to some extent. I may be 22 and live at home but I’m in school, I have not one but two jobs, and most importantly I don’t have my own kid (I do have a cat but I’m quite positive my parents love him more than they love me). I do think he’s right about the difficulties in communication between parents and their young adult children, but some of that is still on her.
You’re correct, I’m 22 living in my own home paying my own bills. This is a fucking joke lmao, my parents had me encouraged to have a full time job at 18 and encouraged me even more to get my own home at 20. That’s completely normal parent behavior, this was hard to watch. I’d request a new judge if possible in this case because this is truly pathetic.
If your kid is that bad... It's your fault as the parent. This feels like "I created this mess of a person, but now I want out." There are exceptions, but generally, it's poor upbringing.
It can be that but it's also common for young people to go through phases of reflexive rebellion where they just want to defy everything authority figures try to make them do. For the most part they will grow out of it, but while it's happening it's hard to tell if it's a phase or their character
Nope. With social media, people's development is stunted by 5 years. She's acting like an unmanageable 17 yr old, doesn't grow up, Mom's been putting up with it for at least 5 years. My daughter didn't grow out of it until 28. My son...23 but he doesn't really use social media. Social media has really stunted multiple generations.
@spiritquests2714 then don't let them on social media... that still falls under parenting. I don't have any issues with my 3. Everything your kids do or say under 18 is your responsibility as a parent. I know plenty of people with adult kids that turned out just fine, regardless of social status due to good parenting. I also know bad ones due to bad parenting. As a parent everything with your children in their formative years is our doing.
22 freaking years old and whining about paying rent WHILE also having a child?? That's so insane. She's not 14 anymore and it's not anyone's job but hers to pay for her life and housing. I get the economy is bad but at least pay some bills. I can all but guarantee she doesn't even have a job or income 🤦🏻♀️
You are either a grown adult who needs your own job so you can pay your bills. Or you are a kid that needs to follow what your parent(s) say as you stay with them for free.
Section 8 vouchers are for specific people. If the daughter and grandson are on the voucher too, she has a hard road. But if they aren’t on the voucher then the mom is committing a crime!!!
A 22-year-old should be working and splitting the rent and household bills. I get mom. What does her daughter do all day? If she isn't at least keeping the house clean and making a hot meal for her mom's dinner, she's as much work for mom as she was when she was 6. Time for the kid to accept the responsibilities of adulthood by doing the chores until she gets a job and can afford her own place. Also, no more babies she can't afford. Birth control works but you have to use it. Mom and daughter need to draw up a plan to help the kid transition to self-sufficiency within the next 12 to 18 months
A Friends Mother just got evicted and now can't ever get HUD housing Just for this reason. Her grown Children would not leave her apartment till she was put out. Now that women has no place to live. Do you think the Children are helping her.. No.
The daughter needs to understand that her mother in her case as she said, is the only person that has been there, once they are gone, it leaves your world broken. I miss my mother every day of my life.
Listening. It's an awesome skill, and the earlier you learn it, the better off you will be. I stuttered as a child, so I barely spoke because of it, but I did listen, and I listened a lot. This skill of listening eventually allowed me to train myself NOT to stutter, but that's a different comment. Trust me on this. When someone is speaking, and you 100% FOCUS on what they are saying and what they mean, the world will open up to you in ways you can not imagine.
I moved out of my Dad's house shortly after I graduated from High School. I moved in with my Grandmom. I got a job and asked her how much for rent. She only charged me $50 a month. It was only for the summer and just slept and showered there occasionally. I also paid for the phone and gave her stuff here and there. I've had to live with her several times over the years and always paid a reasonable amount of rent. When I was 19 and about to get financial assistance to continue my education, my dad said I should help her out with money. I got a job that afternoon and never started school. I have zero regrets about my decision. The kicker is that my Dad, Uncle and their women; all were sitting on their asses!
Why should mom have to ask about moving? Maybe she didn’t ask about it because likes where she already is. She’s the one paying for it. A 22 year old with a baby needs to grow up. You’re a mother yourself sweetie.
I don't think Simpson understands how Section 8 works. The daughter is forcing the mother do violate the rules and those certificates are damn hard to get. He was right, and if they cannot be amicable then the mother should leave, and this maybe the wake up call the daughter needs. It is not fare on the child to have bitterness in the house. Where is the father?

Oh joy! 2 o' clock 😂
LARRISSA NEEDS A DAMN JOB & CONTRIBUE MON ETARILY
The judge said to the daughter you have to meet your mother half way. Did I hear that daughter say the mother has to meet her half way? I can't take it , ahe needs a good ole fashion utt kucking .' Thats all she needs'
I mean, I blame the mom.
In all truth, that voucher probably wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the fact that, on paper, they are a 3 person household with a young child and only 1 income listed.
So Momma might lose her discounted ride if she follows through with kicking the daughter out. 🤷🏻♀️
