Hydrogen has inherent problems outside of infrastructure - much poorer efficiency ( about 30% electron to wheel vs. >80% for BEV), losses due to venting and no charging at home
The issue is that hydrogen is also efficient at storage with no degradation - because of this fact it actually softens the blow / neutralizes the poor efficiency ratios. Just throwing that out there.
The counter to that argument is that hydrogen is about 5x more energy dense and in theory can be produced at or below the price of gasoline in the future directly from off grid wind and solar farms

I've been going a bit more aggressive for a few months now and my 1 year old portfolio has smashed $350k in value from an initial allocation of $180k. Learn to diversify and DIY or get a professional help. However investing has no one way to it.

2 people I know work for Chrysler. they said Chrysler just merged and the new focus is going to be on EV. STLA is the ticker. today it's about $16 (1-26-2021)
Automobiles are about 20% of the economy. That change is going to largely happen over the next 10 years. We are only 2-3% in now. It is just like 1998 all over again. Everyone is overestimating where we will be in 5 years, and underestimating in 10 years...
Just sold Tlry & Workhorse today. Sold Workhorse at 31.03! Made 10k, but it went up to 34. Now it's at 32.30. I like it will buy it back if goes low enough

Great overview. One question, where's the actual electricity going to come from ? Are there investment plays there ? Actual energy generation is often highly regulated making it difficult to know how to invest, but I remember 20 years ago when flat panel/lcd/plasma TVs became mainstream the state of California & PGE started to freak about how many plants they were going to have to build in less than 5 years. Fortunately Moore's law kicked in and flat screen TVs became much more efficient very quickly (bullet dodged).

Good job on summarizing EV's Kevin but you should definitely take IDEX under your radar it will be big and dirt cheap as of now and real deal no B.S like Nikola etc they have a Positive balance sheet and producing income already and partnered with GM-BYD and many other fields they are allover in Battery and EV game and they also have a very strong Finance division 5-10X potential this year 100X long term good for both long and short term investment

Kevin, remember if federal goes EV they will require all state DOT's to do the same and will give incentives to do it. States like Colorado can choose to go a different way like CNG. But, with federal incentives all DOT vehicles that can go EV most likely will. This will also help the state budgets. So that is a lot more vehicles.

I don’t think headlining a video with “crash” is helpful to anybody Holding EV stocks. Just the headline alone places panic in the mind of the people and that in turn with a hive mindset can create a quick and swift bubble bubble pop.
Finally, there was an effort to do "Batteries as a Service" that failed in Israel in the early teens (2012, 2013 I think). Startup built "filling stations" that could swap your (leased) battery in 15 minutes. Renault/Nissan provided a couple of models with "quick swap" batteries. Selling point was you'd get new tech as batteries improved without swapping out the car. May have been ahead of it's time. This was before Lyft and such caught on.
Something doesn't add up when on one hand everyone believes GM is on the ball with the cruise investment but on the other hand they didn't even do due diligence on Nikola
But but but try getting a Mach-E they’re priced at full sticker or over and they can make a mass amount due to battery production. The real question is how we are going to "electrify" all these vehicles when renewable only count for 17% of all the energy and we just literally shut off the oil spiket without solving the energy storage problem? How do you charge a vehicle without electricity? Got an idea, instead of investing in EV. Let's invest in electricity generation and delivery instead. Everybody is going to need it and can charge forever whatever we want.

Oil the goes to $5+ q gallon to force people into EV and home prices per Kw/h goes to about $1 from .20 cents or so. We will have inflation in everything. EV goes to 5x, food goes 3x, everything goes at least 2x. Min wage $30/hr.

Li is not really a hybrid. A small engine generates electricity for the batteries. Clever and will meet needs of those who want that backup capability

NIO, You can only swap the battery 6 times a year. So this is only for battery degradation or lack of charging on a long trip. Please check your facts. It will make for cheaper up front cost, if you rent the battery.

Finally, there was an effort to do "Batteries as a Service" that failed in Israel in the early teens (2012, 2013 I think). Startup built "filling stations" that could swap your (leased) battery in 15 minutes. Renault/Nissan provided a couple of models with "quick swap" batteries. Selling point was you'd get new tech as batteries improved without swapping out the car. May have been ahead of it's time. This was before Lyft and such caught on.

@@riumudamc4686 No! The answer is double the price of electricity then in order to accommodate the demand we ration it like Germany. Oil the goes to $5+ q gallon to force people into EV and home prices per Kw/h goes to about $1 from .20 cents or so.
We will have inflation in everything. EV goes to 5x, food goes 3x, everything goes at least 2x. Min wage $30/hr.
