    For all the things I love about the CX-30, this unnecessarily complicated and confusing Infotainment system is NOT one of them. I've had the car for a year and am STILL trying to figure out how to seamlessly go from my bluetooth to radio without having to tinker with the center knob. My wife's Rouge has no issue doing this so I know it's possible. Also, I'd much rather touch the screen in front of me to change radio stations than have to look down at the knob and go thru the multiple steps to do so, especially in traffic.
    The Pandora station worked for about 6 months and suddenly stopped. I've even installed the app and the system still doesn't see it.
    Phone calls that require selecting a number are a nightmare. I have to find the plce to do that using the knob, then turn it to the correct number WHILE driving.
    Lastly, the Android Auto software desparately needs an upgrade. A yr ago I could switch from the map screen to the music screen simply by turning the knob. Suddenly doing that switches the screen to the map on one side and the entire array of apps on the other! I then have to use the knob to get BACK to my music screen WHILE driving! Also, has anyone figured out HOW to hide the map screen when the GPS is turned off? I don't want to see a large white sceen taking up space when I don't need the map.
    I relalize that some people love the control knob, but for me it's more bother than it's worth. I thought I read that Mazda has decided to offer a touch screen option, but apparenly it's only on the CX-5. If true, maybe it's time for an upgrade.

    Imo it's a smart choice its not a touchscreen. The screen is too far away from the driver and It would be a risk if it was a touchscreen.

      I agree. Also I getting the feedback only a physical dial can provide helps keep the eyes on the road.

      It is some BS from Mazda not to spend extra money. You take your eyes away from the road more while looking down

    The question is, when Apple car play is connected, what do those dedicated buttons (navigation, music) do? Take you to the Apple apps? Or back to the Mazda apps?

      Hello I am a Mazda owner, and it basically opens up the app you are using, you can connect it through your phone without using a charger as well

    Your recommendations are very helpful, thank you. The question is, do you know how you can disable the automatic parking brake on a Mazda CX-30? I was also very surprised that the car does not have an option to display average speed.

    Would be cool if there was a way to put the MPH on the display screen.

    how do you type an address on android auto without the touch screen? scroll through all the buttons on the keyboard?

    • @justincphilip
      @justincphilip Год назад +2

      They primarily want you to use voice (while driving) or manually with the wheel (when stopped). However, it seems in the latest AA update, it finally lets you use the Maps app on your phone again, so you can type there.

    Is there a way to easily fast-forward (not skip) through tracks in android auto?

    • @Hornetfbfan95
      @Hornetfbfan95 Год назад +6

      Yes. On the left side of the wheel use the track skip button. Push once and hold forward to fast forward in the song.

      Also the volume knob pushes to the left and right to scan tracks

  • @ronaldbardalez6318
    @ronaldbardalez6318 Год назад +2

    The worst thing about Android Auto on Mazdas is having to NOTCH the knob to the sides to go to different elements. You already have a fucking wheel. Why not just turn it as it works in Carplay? Why do you have to use two different navigation methods? It's impossible to get quickly to an app. You HAVE no NOTCH to get to the menu, tap on the app, then NOTCH again to get to the app view, select a song (for example) with the WHEEL, and then NOTCH back to the menu to get to the navigation and tap there. This system is pathetic.

    outdated infotainment

    • @inodesnet
      @inodesnet Год назад +17

      It's super quick and uncluttered. For those that want to use the infotainment while driving, it requires very little effort and is a breeze to use. The command knob can diving people when they first get in the car, but those that take time to get used to it are converts. Many professional reviewers online have gone as far as to say this is the best infotainment in the mainstream market because of the simplicity.
      Want to see something outdated... look at anything recent by Subaru or Toyota. Japanese companies don't tend to do their software well. Mazda is certainly the exception here.
