If I recall correctly, digital only PS5 is lower price than the one that also has a built in disc tray.
Buying the disc tray separately, allows you to adapt your purchase later without the upfront cost (Though I haven't checked to see what the price difference is from buying the digital only + tray compared to a regular PS5)
@@tarille1043it’s surprisingly cheaper to buy the digital only PS5 and the disc drive than buying the PS5 with the disc drive installed. Though it’s not too major of a price difference. It’s only a $20 difference.
@@xaklin4632 True, but at least people who were foolish enough to buy the console without a disc tray can just buy that add on instead of suffering buyer's remorse. Buying a console with no disc tray is a skill issue, just save up for the version with a disc tray instead of being impatient and needing the shiny new console asap.

Believe it or not, back in January/February 2012 I've thought about the future of owning physical media, and one of those would be using SD cards, USB flash drives, or hard disk drives, which in order to play the game you would physically go up to your console and plug or insert them in, akin to inserting quarters into an arcade cabinet, just for the game to show up and hit play. And to be honest, I would have removed DRM out of our games, including having to use an account to keep track of who bought which games and so on, as it would ONLY be needed for "Online Multiplayer" and that's it. And even then the software inside those devices would allow you to backup the game on those drives should something happen to your internal drives or consoles, thus you would have 100% ownership "forever". And while the USB flash drive and SD card may not have a lot of room to show the artwork of the game you're using, they will still come in cases where you can line it up on a shelf, and our hard drisk drives would allow you to store more than one game, depending on how large your storage was, to store as many games as you want, including video games that'll eat up your 500gb internal drive and such.
I often find that blu-ray discs, much like DVDs, can crack or break easily if mishandled, or pretty much crack/break when playing it in the disc drive of the console, thus within a few years it'll form cracks into the disc which causes you to buy the game again (had it happen with Call of Duty 1 nearly 5 times buying it over and over again in the early to mid 2010s, because of disc cracks, which we still have the cases/discs that are cracked to this day, and when we lost one of the discs, I decided to buy it digitally so I wouldn't have to buy it physically ever again. And even if removed, it wouldn't matter because I can always buy the disc yet again, and multiple copies of it if necessary. The red dead redemption game of the year discs thankfully still work, although I had to buy three more copies since the first disc we bought has a disc read error/crack in the middle that sadly won't work on Xbox One or Xbox 360 consoles sadly).

Yeah buying games digitally is really killing me. Some of the game I've tried to play after I download them just don't work. And these include new and old games on a PS5.
