I actually have to try to avoid tearing up every time I listen to this because it's so touching and almost dreamlike hearing my mother's native tongue in a big hit disney film. Polynesians overall are pushed aside to tourist-y stereotypes and a bit forgotten in the world, so as much as disney does wrong a lot of the time, they did right this time by creating this film and doing the Polynesian dubs(I love the Maori and Hawaiian versions as well). I know they've only released the Tahitian version to schools in French Polynesia, but I really wish I could buy my own copy to enjoy at home.

C'est tellement frustrant de se demander si c'est exact ou pas, si je te dis par exemple qu'à la fin je pense que c'est "fano mai" et pas "fano na" mais je ne suis pas sure du tout !
Alors voilà ce que ça donne à l'oreille pour ma part. Par contre, à certains moments ce n'est pas facile de bien comprendre les mots. Donc j'ai mis entre parenthèses les moments où je ne suis pas sûre de ce qui se dit ou quand je n'arrive pas à discerner les mots. Je vais essayer de réécouter à partir du film que j'ai enregistré sur ma télé. Je ferais des modifications par la suite si besoin. I like how Sabrina Laughlin is actually in her 40’s yet she sounds like she’s the youngest out of all the voice actresses of Moana.

She's an amazing Moana, such a unique voice.
I'm surprised at how well she fits because she was almost 40 years old when she dubbed Moana.

We know since the beginning it was Moana and not Vaiana, they announced when they started making the dubbing, Moana bears more sense in their language

Yes in Tahiti we speak french but the traduction was Disney language (so US) to tahitian and not US->frenche/french->tahitian ;)
