Bryan Adams is the most underrated singer/songwriter of all time! He doesn't get mentioned among the greats of rock, but HE IS!
This song, as well as many others by Adams, tingles the soul. Anybody who doesn't get touched or excited listening to his music is dead inside and is in no position to talk about music.

I was caught in the crossfire of a silent scream
Where one man's nightmare is another man's dream
Pull the covers up high and pray for the mornin' light
Better leave it alone in the heat of the night
Met a man with a message from the other side
Couldn't take the pressure - had to leave it behind
He said it's up to you
You can run or you can fight - (ya that's right)
Better leave it alone in the heat of the night
In the heat of the night they'll be comin' around
They'll be lookin' for answers they'll be chasin' you down
In the heat of the night
(Where you gonna hide it all comes down)
(Don't look back don't ever turn around)
Had to pay the piper to call the tune
Said he'd he be back someday - said he'd be back real soon
Pull the shades down low - you'll know when the time is right
When you're lyin' alone in the heat of the night

This IS Adams best tune.....maybe Not his biggest seller or fan favorite, but his Best. As far as videos...early MTV of the 80s, and subsequently the evolvement of VH1 in the late 80s early 90s, both got their cue from a program that aired in 1980-83...on Friday and Saturday Nights, from midnight to 6am, on USA Network called "Night Flight"...for those of you that remember, we are a select crew, and that my friends, is a true story....

Nice music . I had memory of this one dancing in a party on the beachside. I was in my late 20s, a long time ago.

Love this album, glad Bryan made what he wanted this record to become. Instead of just making a Reckless part 2, although I love that record as well. Can play almost every song on guitar.
Legendary artist, hope to see him live one day.

It seems like Bryan Adams had a different style of music with every album he came out with which is good and this album proves it. He always came up with different sounds and still made great music. A lot of artists will come up with a great album and then continually try to mimic it, and you get burned out on them.

Between ROMANTIC-NOSTALGIC Reckless and CHEERFUL-NAUGHTY WUTN, Into the Fire was a realistic shadowy-sweet and a dark-optimistic album! Love this album as a transition phase of Bryan Adams :)

The songs are out there, but most of the rock is coming from Europe now. Feels like the 80's were when talent peaked here though.

Did someone just compare real rock to Nirvana....? Real rock is......indescribable, but, it is NOT Nirvana. Real rock.........it's 80s. Maybe even 70s. Real rock n roll, is not appreciated enough, becuse no one actually sings REAL MUSIC. Not mumble rap, not the "rock" people listen to now. It's just not the same anymore, and that saddens me...

I absolutely LOVE the Into The Fire album and it is so overlooked and not one that Bryan likes to go to very often for some reason as well.
