Hey I have a stutter. Stuttering is not caused by thoughts going too fast. Stuttering is neurological that can be more severe due to anxiety. But anxiety does not cause stuttering alone, it can amplify it but it does not cause it. Stuttering is neurological and people who have a stutter like myself can’t help it.

Kim still battles stuttering and said she lets people know that she might stutter. She has found that speaking slower has helped, but it's something she continues to live with. We hope to interview and a Special Forces veteran who battles stuttering. He got speech when he was in elementary school and like Kim, he still deals with stuttering. You aren't alone.

Yep. I live with a stutter. It’s affected my whole life. It is what it is. I have wanted to end it all due to the pain I have experienced but I keep going. Not an easy path by any means.

Jordan, thanks for sharing your experience and being vulnerable. Many people don't realize the struggles that many face and how hard it is because they haven't walked in your shoes. Keep on keeping on. Finding a purpose in your life can really help.

I agree I attended speech therapy for nearly a year and never saw improvement, but a book I read entitled, How to Stop Stuttering & Love Speaking by Lee Lovett helped me tremendously. The methods in the book helped me see improvement in 2-3 months. Hope this can help.

@@abolacadernos7164 I did his program and it was temporary improvement....made me worse off...and 2-3 months is too long too see improvement in my opinion.....his book is nothing but ways to hide stuttering...not fix it.....

The best way to do it is accept yourself for who you are, stutter and all, and not let it bother you, regardless of how annoying it can be. If you're looking for specific methods on how to manage your stuttering, just stutter openly. Do voluntary stuttering. Use pull-outs and cancellations if the stutter is at its worst and just keep going. Don't let it define you. You're way more than a minor brain glitch.

@@Anonymous-qg9xx Have you tried support groups? Maybe try finding one with people who also stutter who can relate to your same situation, to your pain. I’m sorry that this is causing you a lot of agony, bud.
