Got to the end of the swatching now. An interesting set of colours, but if they could eliminate the white, the blacks, the duplicates and the low lightfastness colours and that horrible permanent green, they could get to a great set off 24 that could fit in the same tin as full pans.
And I agree with you that some might have the wrong names on them.

Watching you putting the pans back in the tin and then bending the metal bits over them is so frustrating.
Just wanting to snatch it off you and show you how to bend the metal bits first, then push the pans back in and get that satisfying click!

Hullo Liz, I have purchased some “deal” oriented art supplies in my youth trying to save myself some money! I am saddened to say that most of the cheaper paints are all coming out of China. I truly believe that if anyone is looking for a good paint try to find a reasonably local manufacturer. Even though living in the UK your big brand Windsor & Newton has been moved away from France and are now so many are being made in China too! Paul Rubens? Yep, China. I believe that I am tremendously gifted living in the U.S. as we have a great number of paint creators! I recommend DaVinci as the best overall brand from quality of paints to the reasonable prices they charge! Another winner is M. Graham and some people swear by Dan Smith but I just swear AT them, their prices as well as their business practices! Thank you for sharing this palette, I am just not going to switch to this nice, but looking very “white labeled” paint. Despite the manufacturers marketing efforts as a superior paint choice. I am just like most artists in that I like seeing a “new” discovery but weighing all the factors, I believe I am staying put with my current choices. Now I am trying to decide if I want or need to invest in a gouache paint brand! Got a video recommendation?
I have been watching quite a few this past month or so……. Please take care, be safe and enjoy your day!

Superior also do white label products for a bunch of well-known retailers here in the UK: Jackson’s, Cass Art, Great Art all sell their palettes as generic student grade supplies (either unbranded or with the shop’s own brand). They are pretty good for what they are (but not artist grade). But at the price they are generally sold they are great fun! And much better than some other brand-name student grade paints that cost much more.

Must have missed a bit, but were those cobalts actual cobalts or cobalt hues? In which case these paints must be different formulations indeed as I don’t think the usual Superior palettes have any toxic pigments
