Favelas are actually not as horrible as people think, most of the people there are just low income workers but some are indeed very dangerous. There is a great video that actually show how favelas are like, is called "24 HOURS INSIDE THE BIGGEST SLUM IN SOUTH AMERICA (Favela)" from Naomi and Mar, they are super sweet and great people :)
"Danis citizens coming to Brazil as tourists can stay for a period of 90 days without a visa" and it is the same for Brazilian citizen who wants to visit Schengen space.
About security deppends of where you are at, it's mostly pick pockers you have to worry about and only if you are in a dangerous areas or really big cities, is pretty much the same as USA. Brazil have a fame of being more dangerous but is because of problems with drug traffic and corruption, but that kind of violence almost always happens only in isolated areas and only between cops and drug dealers, but if you not doing bad stuff or living in a really bad neighborhood most of the people never even hear about stuff like that.
Thanks for the reaction! I recommend videos of Naomi and Mar channel about Brazil there are really good videos there, if you want you could start with the "We hitchhiked across whole of Brazil" and the "24 Hours inside the biggest Slum in South America" (this one is good to understand better the favelas in Brazil). But anyway thanks ^^
I recommend this video as well. The title is: 10 things you shouldn't do in Brazil ruclips.net/video/EWsTBpg-UHM/видео.html Things that she speaks: 1) Take a shower every day. (Sometimes foreigns forget that they are in a country where it is very hot) Bonus: Change your clothes daily 2) Tim already said that in the video (about the toilet paper in the basket) 3) Tim already talked about it too, not going out on the streets with a watch or cell phone. If you are in a group there is no problem. Bonus: If you still want to take your cell phone to the street, make sure that the cell phone does not attract attention in your pocket and if you are going to use it, use it in a safe place such as inside stores, preferably away from the eyes of strangers and passers-by 4) In the south and south-east, it can get cold at any time, so bring some clothes for the cold and especially if it is in the extreme south. Bonus: Most houses do not have heaters (eletric warmers).
People have already told you guys can stay in Brazil for 90 days with an automatic tourist visa if you come from the Schengen area, but it's also possible to extend it for an additional 90 days by asking for it in an immigration authority office mid trip. Just in case you want an extended trip here. And this can be done every year, so it's possible to stay up to 180 days in Brazil each year on tourist visas.
The story about not throwing tissue and toilet paper in the toilet, is not completely accurate. It will depend on the location of the house. In modern construction and apartment buildings it is totally OK to do it, and people will get mad that you drop dirty paper in the basket, instead 😅. It is better tobask.

Hello. When you come to Brazil try not to leave after 9 pm or 10 pm if you are in a big city like São Paulo, Salvador and Rio de Janeiro. In Brazil it is very difficult to identify a foreigner people and probably Brazilians will think you are Brazilians too if you do not identify yourself or if they hear you speaking a language very different from English. For womans: The amount of makeup can reveal that you are a foreigner people and that can be bad or good will depend on the moment. I suggest not overdoing the makeup. Few young people speak English and most establishments do not have English-speaking people. Some have but there are fews. So, to make your life easier, learn some basic Portuguese words like 1)"Where do I find a restaurant?". 2) "I'm thirsty, where can I find water?" In Portuguese is: 1) Onde eu posso encontrar um restaurante? I hope you enjoy the tips. See you.
Tim is commenting on the fact that Japanese, Canadians and Americans "no longer" need a visa. They did until 2018. Europeans didn't need a visa to enter Brazil for much longer than that, as they allowed Brazilians to enter Europe without a visa too.
O Voleibol é o esporte número 1 do Brasil.

IT'S MYTH THAT YOU CAN'T THROW TOILET PAPER IN THE TOILET.
YES YOU CAN.
You just have to be careful not to drink the water from Brazil, because if you drink, you don't go back to your country, and you become Brazilian.
Esse estadunidense está sempre em nosso país. Tim adora o Brasil
