Being a Malayali I don't watch more bollywood films. But I did watch some of his movies just because the way he plays with his eyes n facial expressions! He's damn one of the best actors in the world. Love from Kerala ❤
You are genuine movie watcher bro. Most of the audience just watch masala movies and judge actors on whether the movie is hit or flop. He gave so many flops but I love his acting talent
He doesn't do any random appearances and gives interviews only when his films are releasing (and being an introvert myself I completely understand that) and being his fan re-watching his old interviews and films is the only way for me to make myself happy...but I get so disheartened when there's so much of unnecessary hate and negativity towards him just for being honest and people are interested in creating controversy out of anything rather than actually try to listen what he's saying and maybe try to understand his craft but it's really good to see that at least the comment section in here is still positive ❤️
I began my journey with Bollywood movies because of SRK movie that was shown on TV and from there I learned about many actors and love many of them and from the younger so to say generation he is something diffrent he is humble he is self aware and he is real not to mention that after SRK I think he is the only actor in cinema that can portray emotions in so real honest way
I beliave that because he never sees himself as the star of the so called successful movies but sees himself as the person responsible for the flops he is abble to protect the artistic hearth he has. Because he is honest people see him as arrogant and that as he said persona of the Kapoor son when he in his core is shy introverted artist and I am happy that we will have many more years with him
He's such a strong person. Even after so many flops he.continues to work harder and harder with each n every film. He was excellent in Tamasha...hope his bad luck ends soon
Heartbeat & Dippy he doesn’t care about success or failure cause he has so much money already so he’s detached from all this , hence it doesn’t mess with his mind . So even after failures he did work cause it was work no pressure for him
just To correct you... his Movies generally do not work fine in the Box office...but but but.. I can say this one thing..he is one of the few Mainstream actors who always picks up movies with different plot always, a different theme each time... the movie he Had usually acted on, were ahead of There time...or carrying complex and way logical concept that people can't mostly connect to..not all the people around us... For example- Tamasha, Rockstar(most of all), Barfi etc... maybe it affects in his Worth, but It makes him better of the actor that he is...and Betters the Percentage of Quality movies in Bollywood of course
Ranbir is the most down to earth Superstar ever. I think people get away with questioning his dedication because he believes in quietly doing his work rather than showing off. He is one of the few superstar actors who has never taken his audience for granted and has always strived to give his 200 percent in all his movies. He is also extremely honest to his craft and has been true to himself. Despite being a superstar he has never hesitated in choosing cinema he believes in regardless of it's box office fate. His passion for Cinema was evident right from the time he started assisting Mr SLB. I love ranbir because of the films he has chosen and not inspite of them. he is a master of nuance if you've seen his films you'll know what i mean. He is shy yes and it's obvious he suffers from social anxiety that is why he struggles to make eye contact not because he is rude or arrogant. He asked Anupama about misogyny because he did not know how to pronounce the word and was humble enough to ask. why do people always have to think the worst of him? Why can't they just accept him for who and how he is? And once and for all why is his love life anyone's business and who gave people the right to judge him ? And yes I have loved all his movies Rockstar Tamasha Jagga Jasoos Bombay Velvet and Besharam. It's high time the world wakes up to this man's talent coz he deserves it more than anybody else in the industry. Sanju kickstarts the Rk era and I for one can't wait to see his rise to megastardom.
I'm a very huge fan of SRK but i don't want to believe him when he says "I'm the last of the stars". I can already see Ranbir Kapoor continuing the legacy of Kapoors as Superstars. He's in fact the best actor (acting wise) we have in the industry right now, regardless of the stardom of other khans, Kumar, Roshan and Devan. He deserves as much as love if not more than SRK❤
This is one of very candid interview. Thanks so much Anupama Chopra Ma'am. No doubt Ranbir Kapoor is one of VERY FINE ACTOR hindi film industry have. He's privileged but he do honour his name of "Kapoor". He's humble, grounded & a good charmer always enjoys listening his interview. Love from New York 🙏♡
WOW Ranbir was so articulate about his acting. And the fact that he realizes you are not saving the world or imposing moral values through film. You are just acting. Thats a mature actor right there. He knows his craft very well.

I'm in love with his thoughts and the way he puts them up.. Thank you so much Ranbir for giving us Ved and Jordan I've always took both of them with me and I'll keep with me forever.... Respect to you man...👏👏
Nepotism not only gives you varun, arjun kapoor but also gives you Hrithik, Ranbir. If you have the acting bone, you're through. But still these fellas despite being talented have to put up with nepotism. :/
Girish Gowda exactly. Otherwise if only Nepotism could make you a big star, Fardeen Khan, Zayd Khan, Bobby Deol and Harshvardhan Kapoor would have been the biggest stars of their respective eras. At the end of the day, if the audience doesn't accept you, you're not gonna make it big no matter how big your parents are
Girish Gowda if only choices can make u good actor than there are lot of good actor who had taken risk ...but as being actor someone have guts to make justice to charracter with his acting and he didn't in bhavesh Joshi ...there was lot which could have been done and Varun is successful because he is choosing masala films and he is somehow good looking too and audience got attracted to him unlike harshvardhan and Arjun Kapoor they are not even good-looking and not good actors too
Well in that case watch Brando, Montgomery clif ,Jimmy Stewart,James Dean, paul newman,Peter o'tool, jack Nicholson, Bobby deniro,Pacino,Dustin Hoffman, Day Lewis, Gary oldman, Sean Penn, christian bale, Sam rockwell and many more.
I remember I didn't love him as an actor and then 2 films released in 2009, Rocket Singh and Wake Up Sid and since then he has grown by leaps and bounds. If nepotism produce a good actor like him, I am okay with nepotism. But not if nepotism produces crappy actors. He justified his place in Bollywood.
Avishek Mukherjee Nepotism has it's pros and cons. Nepotism gave us Aamir Khan, Ranbir, Hrithik but nepotism also gave us Fardeen khan, uday chopra, arjun Kapoor and now Jhanvi Kapoor.😂😂😂
I see another Ranbir Kapoor. He is now so Calm, focussed ,down to earth, generous towards their movies. I love every word he expressed in this interview and well said a great Superstar❤️❤️❤️❤️
If I have to make a poster of the "Commercial Hindi Film Industry" it's the showman Raj Kapoor, Tragedy king Dilip Kumar, Superstar Rajesh khanna, Big B Amitabh Bachchan, Dilwale Shahrukh Khan and the Raymond Ranbir Kapoor ❤ Ranveer Singh in my opinion is no where near to this league 😂

i so wish jagga jasoos had done better. i enjoyed it so much, every minute of it. i hope it finds its appreciation maybe a few years down the line by film lovers or detective story lovers to appreciate just how much creativity and detail went into the making, how groundbreaking it was to make a proper musical in bollywood (as opposed to a film with songs in it). it's a fine, fine film and well worth doing, box office or no box office. he should be super proud that it's part of his filmography and his first production. i fail to understand how and why everyone is so dismissive of it.
Aria Isara tamasha is a masterpiece for sure can't say same about jagga jasoos ..it was new for Indian audience perhaps that's why but jagga is also a good movie
It’s sad that the failure of some of his films has changed his thought process and now he believes films can only entertain and not save the world. Tamasha has literally changed the lives of so many people and saved them from losing themselves. Films like Rocket Singh, Barfi or Jagga made heroes out of seemingly unremarkable or handicapped people who the society kind of looks down upon. Even a commercial dharma affair like yjhd or wake up sid has a strong influence on the younger generation and can give them some clarity about life, through entertainment. The ending of Jagga makes such an important commentary about war which is a first for Hindi cinema..I wish more people saw that movie. If not save the world, films can definitely change it for the better. I hope he still secretly believes in that and won’t lose that side of him in the bid to build his superstardom.
I think you misunderstand him I think he is talking about taking responsibility of the financial performance of the film RK will be RK even his blockbuster Sanju was a risky film I doubt his choices will change I doubt he’ll ever do a superficial film that won’t satisfy him he likes putting himself in emotionally uncomfortable roles he said so in his hit list interview i have full faith in him.
Anupama mam take my words... This is the best interview uh have ever done and I m sure uh are going to feel proud that uh had such a great conversation with such a great personality 😍😍
U just see some random interview while youtubing for some crappy thing and jot down a comment. This is one of her best interviews but she has done equally satisfying and appealing interviews earlier too with other actors. Ek do video dekhke apni gyan baantne ki zarurat nahi he..
It really hurts to see. . Ranbir always proving himself by saying "I work really hard".. common yaar. .. even though he is a product of nepotism. .. he is worth the position he is. . I think people should accept this 😢
You got a new fan here. Such a sweet and smooth talker. Down to earth and humble as a person . Man really loved you dedication and hard work in sanju. Keep doing such stuffs. Your future projects are also great. You are on the right path .
Pwnpie Why compare? His acting accomplishments are greater, much greater than that of SRK's. Unlike SRK, he becomes the character on screen. Not the star. He's not a bundle of mannerisms unlike SRK. He gets into the skin of the character. In that regard, his comparison should be with Aamir and Hrithik. Not SRK.
Great interview. Just a qualm, when Anupama asks Ranbir about not doing a two-hero film, hope she doesn't mistake that for his not wanting to share the light because, in fact, even other than rajneeti which he mentions, many of his films have equally important female characters. There doesn't need to be another prominent male co-star to make the movie a 'two-hero' film. In movies like barfi and Anjana anjani, Priyanka Chopra's characters are equally significant and protagonistic, same about deepika's characters in Tamasha, YJHD and Konkana in Wake Up Sid. Unlike some older films where Amitabh and shashi kapoor used to be the two-heroes and female characters would fiddle around them, these characters are not second fiddle to the heroes, they are the other 'hero' of that films and most of the plot revolves around them. Anupama, who easily accuses Luv Ranjan's films of misogyny, should maybe reflect upon her understanding of a 'hero' as well.
Agree considering Befikre was her favourite movie in which Ranvir Singh's character is a misogynist but Anupama not only ignored it but praised it as well double standards.

@Sunitha Shetty I think what do you mean by overrated taste and sense of him I think it's different for each other someone will see the world with his eyes
@Sunitha Shetty Give me one particular reason for being overrated?
All good actor favourite Ranbir Kapoor also my favourite
his films, his characters & his interviews reflects the kind of person that he is. He is such a misunderstood human. Ranbir is a lovely guy ❤
I am truly fond of Ranbir, extremely humble with goodness enamoured under shyness. He is a great actor indeed. He has a cerebral approach to acting.
Ranbir Kapoor best actor this generation brilliant fantastic actor
The is the reason why Deepika took forever to move on. On top of his good looks, he's well spoken, intelligent/sharp, knows where to be honest. He's my fav actor of current heroes.
umm she left him because he cheated and she was hurt and took time for her to heal and trust a man again "not because of his good looks or pseudo intelligence"
RK is Best Actor of Bollywood....
Salman Khan is Worst Actor of Bollywood
@@manishkhatri876 She doesn't need to tell me shit and I was never a fan. It was openly covered in the news. And why would she say on Koffee with Karan "he should endorse condoms". Obviously Deepika and Sonam know Ranbir a lot more personally than the public and even his biggest die hard fans would know him! Sonam and he probably knew each other since they were kids being part of the same film circle!!!
Exactly....this guy is irresistible
I have fallen in love with you again. For a moment, I just thought my soul is giving this interview. Word to word everything. Such a good soul you have
Thankyou Mr. Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor best actor this generation brilliant fantastic actor very talented actor
Lol be careful to not get carried away by your emotions due to anybody's words, let alone those of a talented actor.
Ranbir kapoor is really very talented actor...rightly said, he sets gold standard for all the new age actors. His best quality is spontaneity with intelligence.
So many new actors in Bollywood young generation but Ranbir kapoor has a different class he can work only with his face
He has such a presence in every film he's in, plays zany characters, but so soft spoken and quiet in person!
Raashi Mudholkar 🙋when you spot someone you have known from Jaby's 😄
Ayaz Khan Hello :)
Raashi Mudholkar great work contributing to RUclips community ✌. Have a great day
Soft spoken ppl are the best lol
He is so humble. Knowing your shortcomings and accepting them in public require lots of guts, I dont think that you're underconfident sir! Hats off to you and your work. I admit that nepotism is prevalent in Bollywood but then starkids also have to prove themselves.
People can talk what they want BUT He is the best actor of this generation.Never overacted.
Rubbish! must be a complete blind fan.

Ranbir is such an humble human being 😍
Refreshing to see a superstar being honest , candid & normal about success failure rejection life .. And the best thing is we all know how talented & amazing actor he is and yet he delivers the success to others.. M a fan now & forever
Every future actor should watch this interview.
Ranbir has proved himself as a really good actor and not just a prey to the people who say nepotism is a loss....
I'm still in love with Ved, Barfi and Bunny...❤❤
Being a Malayali I don't watch more bollywood films. But I did watch some of his movies just because the way he plays with his eyes n facial expressions! He's damn one of the best actors in the world. Love from Kerala ❤
Dulquer and Rk my favourite actor😊
Heartbeat & Dippy yeah, I completely agree with you. ✌️
tamasha was a good movie
His acting skills are so high that you can actually relate to him in movies I guess one of the best actor till time...
If nepotism brings us ranbir and others like him I am all for it.
Ranbir kapoor is a awesome, humble and handsome charming man. He speaks his heart out and he is amazing. I love his personality.
The best thing about him is that he don’t hide anything, be it failures or success, unlike other actors! He is a pure soul❤️
Such honesty is difficult to find. What a fresh change!
💯🙌🏻
Buddy I and we really need this thankyou
Best comment ❤

No matter what his acting skills are amazing. One of the finest actor he is. Bollywood got gems from Kapoor family and he's one of them♥️
This man so humble down to earth, has his own philosophy of life and not act like he has done great movies, and I will say the future is his.

Jagga jasoos was an excellent movie. .I think it was not promoted efficiently.
It was essentially a children's movie my son just absolutely loved it ..and waiting for the sequel. .he felt it was like Tintin the classic , but never did it felt like a copy .

Too much songs ruined the main plot of the movie
Kratik Mishra tws a musical ny wich way..but ya..too many songs

Yes that's true. It was just a badly marketed film.
But the creative effort really worked for me. It's just sad that films like JJ can't get through barriers like box office falls.
Ranbir is way ahead of his time . He has mastered the art of speaking . Lot to learn from this personality . This guy is living in some other dimension.
Amazing interview ! Ranbir Kapoor is a gem of an actor and an even better human being with such deep and meaningful thoughts about life. Always a fan.

RK has the purest smile..
Nepotism not only gives you varun, arjun kapoor but also gives you Hrithik, Ranbir. If you have the acting bone, you're through. But still these fellas despite being talented have to put up with nepotism. :/
Girish Gowda varun Arjun Kapoor are due to nepotism ...if nepotism had not exist hritik and Ranbir would have been still in Bollywood
abhishek singh if one believes in fate that is.
Girish Gowda exactly. Otherwise if only Nepotism could make you a big star, Fardeen Khan, Zayd Khan, Bobby Deol and Harshvardhan Kapoor would have been the biggest stars of their respective eras. At the end of the day, if the audience doesn't accept you, you're not gonna make it big no matter how big your parents are
Devesh Pande yeah. But as an audience I believe Harshvardhan kapoor has the potential. He's been brave with choices. :)
Girish Gowda if only choices can make u good actor than there are lot of good actor who had taken risk ...but as being actor someone have guts to make justice to charracter with his acting and he didn't in bhavesh Joshi ...there was lot which could have been done and Varun is successful because he is choosing masala films and he is somehow good looking too and audience got attracted to him unlike harshvardhan and Arjun Kapoor they are not even good-looking and not good actors too
his every interview makes me fall for him even more...😊😊
its been a year this interview has released and I've watched it so many times that I love this man...
Rockstar and Tamasha are one of his best performances. NOBODY could have played Ved and Jordan like he did. For me he is the best actor of all time.

Ranvir Singh - comment
ranvir Singh is no comparison to ranbir..he is criminally overrated ..dont do that dude..

i so wish jagga jasoos had done better. i enjoyed it so much, every minute of it. i hope it finds its appreciation maybe a few years down the line by film lovers or detective story lovers to appreciate just how much creativity and detail went into the making, how groundbreaking it was to make a proper musical in bollywood (as opposed to a film with songs in it). it's a fine, fine film and well worth doing, box office or no box office. he should be super proud that it's part of his filmography and his first production. i fail to understand how and why everyone is so dismissive of it.
btownbangles
Same. I think this movie is a masterpiece and it's really underrated.
Aria Isara tamasha is a masterpiece for sure can't say same about jagga jasoos ..it was new for Indian audience perhaps that's why but jagga is also a good movie
btownbangles Tamasha, rocket Singh, jagga. All will get their respect in due time!
btownbangles You said it, dude! Jagga was a gem
I think jagga jasoos was a bit lengthy and could have been made grand and great although ranbir's acting was fabulous
He's the greatest. So educated and humbled.
I think you misunderstand him I think he is talking about taking responsibility of the financial performance of the film RK will be RK even his blockbuster Sanju was a risky film I doubt his choices will change I doubt he’ll ever do a superficial film that won’t satisfy him he likes putting himself in emotionally uncomfortable roles he said so in his hit list interview i have full faith in him.
sam Lal I hope so. His choice of films make me admire him so much.

Agree ✋
Agree
Pwnpie Why compare? His acting accomplishments are greater, much greater than that of SRK's. Unlike SRK, he becomes the character on screen. Not the star. He's not a bundle of mannerisms unlike SRK. He gets into the skin of the character. In that regard, his comparison should be with Aamir and Hrithik. Not SRK.
He's someone I will hangout with, without thinking twice. Such good conversationalist. 👌
Agreed
