Not sure where you getting that from. I mean the weights he lifting in this video isn't anything crazy on the trap bar deadlifts or the SBD squats. However the guy does look naturally athletic with his frame.

Today, training and recovery methods are much more advanced. Unfortunately, you don't always see that in NBA gyms. A lot of players can't do a proper squat. Lebron is a good example of this. Show Lebron's workout video to a powerlifting coach and you'll see his reaction.
