I have both on the same hand! How unlucky am I, it's always caused me some discomfort but never looked into it, come to find out I've got a dorsal ganglion cyst and carple boss by my index and middle finger....
Excuse me but us there another way to remove the Carpal Boss aside from surgery??? I wonder if there are people who have experienced the Carpal Boss in the Ancient times.
Corticosteroid injection is the most effective non-surgical treatment. And as long as people have been punching each other in the face, there has been carpal bossing lol. There's some great longitudinal studies out there following boxers who leave it untreated
@@ejd1937 I noticed this lump on my left hand after I have been doing pushups every morning for a year or so just to be in shape. Now, after doing my pushups or any other heavy activity, I feel my nerves there are stressed out, and the next morning after heavy work my hand feels a bit numb there. If it gets worse, I'll have to visit a doctor and think if it's worth cutting that bone away.
@@KiM_16 Thanks for asking, it feels better now. I had changed my workout routine to make it easier for that hand. Still, the lump is there. At least it does not grow and does not hurt.
@@camelCased interesting. Immune started about a week ago. Started feeling a little better today but I just noticed the bump 😅 may I ask how long it took you to have it become painless?
I play piano and I got it while I was in music school. I still have it, after almost 10 years. They thought it was a ganglion cyst back then, but now I think it's carpal boss...
@@partdeux992 Yes, according to my doctor its harmless and can remain dormant for all my life and not affect anything. As she described, it's just extra bone. Sorry to hear that you got it after an infection :(
I’m 27 feeling 77 every day

@@d-ig5iv actually changed it all and feel pretty good these days. my thumb is still busted but meh

people who have it -- did it show up after c0v or sh0ts?
Nope. I've had it for over 10 years. Showed up in my teens. It's reduced my wrist mobility but it's manageable (I can't bend my wrist to 90 degrees).
