Couple things coming from a tech, When you installed the caliper bracket you were supposed to hold the back nut while you torque the bolt, when you torqued the back nut it loosened the bolt, also I wouldn’t use anti seize to lubricate the pads, only recommended brake grease, and lastly you installed the sliding pins backwards, they’re supposed to be installed from the back that way it’s easier to remove when you change your pads out, now you have to smack them out from the back of the caliper which is going to be a pain in the ass, video is still great and not throwing any shade or hate! Keep up the good work
One small mistake at 4:21. When you torque the nut on the back side to the same as the bolt it loosens the bolt that is actually doing the work of holding the bracket on. That nut is just an extra layer of safety. I also think the red loctite should go on on the adaptor bolt and nut, maybe blue loctite on the actual caliper mounting bolts. I'm actually wondering how you will get those off the way you did that. Once that nut comes off, the bolt backs off toward the disc and if the red loctite does its job there will be no room to work on it.
GREAT VIDEO!! doing the same mod to mine, just picked up 2011 RL front calipers, ordered new rear OEM calipers, new brake lines, rotors and pads. Keep up the good work!!!
I did a bunch of research into this because I wanted to do it on my 2013 Honda Accord. If you’re not doing this yourself as a do it yourself project be prepared to add between $500 and $950 in labor cost. The $500 in my case would be having a mechanic friend of mine do it. The $950 option would be if I went to a local high-performance shop. Both parts and labor for this upgrade will cost me between $1400-$1700 if I used the spacers option including labor. If my wheel size (I have both 17 inch & 18 inch wheels) for the 17 inch ones were too small I would need to get spacers or buy new 18 inch or bigger wheels. If I wanted to avoid the potential problems with spacers (see below) I would need to add $600-$800 more to buy new bigger 18+ inch wheels for a total cost of $2100-$2500 to get this job done. some risks involved for spacers are; 1 - Wheel size. If you have 17 inch or smaller wheel sizes you will likely need to use spacers. If you use spacers then; 1b - You can possibly get vibration at high speeds 1c - You can possibly throw off the front end alignment. 1d - You can possibly cause increased wheel bearing wear and need to get new wheel bearings prematurely. I thought about this for a long time wanting to get this done because I needed new front brakes. After some months of thinking about this I just got a regular front brake job with new regular disks and new pads at a cost of $430 both parts and labor. No risks no super high costs and no foot work ordering custom parts, all finished at my local mechanics shop in a few hours. At a 25 to 30% increase in breaking power for this custom job it just wasn’t worth the significant time effort and cost so I just went with regular breaks. However, I would like to thank the creator of this video as this was the best video I have seen on this type of upgrade. He went through a lot of time and effort to make this clear and simple. Thank you.
Easy there processor, i went with the torque spec the bracket came with and all the crush washers are correct. If there was 2 washers i can guarantee it was corrected. I went to acura and they said it was a brembo caliper.
I know it’s a pretty old video but the left rotor and the right are different or they’re the same thing trying to do the same thing to my 2017 Honda Accord by the way love you video a lot of detail information on the description and your video
Hey man, I love your video. You did a good job with the installation. I have a question, I notice when you installed the big rotor you didn't use any hub centric rings. Did the rotors fit perfectly? I have the same car like yours and I had to use a hub-centric ring on my mind for it to fit. Also, I'm getting a lot of high pitch squeaking from my set up any advice on what I could have done wrong? Thank you for your time.
Great video. Where did you source the Acura 4-poston calipers? Also, it would be helpful to know what wheels you are using, because these calipers won't clear my Honda 18-in wheels. Thank you.

Will you need spacers and extended studs for the stock 19” Accord sport wheels to clear the caliper?. I thought 19” wheels would clear, not so sure now.
F.A.T mods I had to use wheel spacers and studs 1/2” longer than stock for the stock 19” rims I have to clear the caliper but once installed a bunch of lights came on the dash, ABS light, TPMS light, electronic stability control and like 2 more, is that normal?, will it go away with time?, or should I have them reset with a computer at a shop?. Also, it seems I have to press the brake pedal a lot longer than before now in order to break with this upgrade, break fluid is new Brembo, break lines are stainless steel StopTechs, don’t know if pressure has to build up for that feeling to go away with time. My brake pads are Brembo instead of the Akebonos. Can you please advice.

Hey, my friend Henry here and I am sending u this message all the way from Kissimmee, FL...saw ur video several times and its great info and a great install as well...one thing that u didn't mention on ur video was the info on the rotor that u are using, what I mean by information from the rotor is basically the yr. make and model of the car that the rotor goes to...also just a quick question for u I have a 2017 honda accord sport and the wheels that I have on the car are staggered...the front is 19x8.5 and rears are 19x9.5...if I decide to do this mod on my car will I have any issues at all with clearance because I really don't want to use spacers on my car, if u know what I mean.
Dont know it it will fit if not you will only need a 5mm spacer. The part number for the rotors is in the discription. That the one I use I think is a2006 350z
I think I'm going to take this video down because no one list to what I said or read the comments. The rotors are from a 350Z and I would not know if it would fit a Acura. I dont know what the caliper bolts are and the rotor size on a Acura. This is for a honda accord.
For my 9th gen accord sport where could I get these ? I’ve been looking for them and I found them for both back and front for 4 thousand and im not sure if it’s a good deal
Hello again my brother. I know you have link description but i wanted to know if there is another rotor besides the one you listed that would work for my 2014 accord sport with the acuea rl calipers
Brembo cross drilled rotors for the 350z track will work too but they’re $450 - $500 a piece, not sure if the difference will be that great compared to the StopTechs to justify.
Hey I am following your conversion in every aspect and detail. I appreciate you posting all this, I had one question. What did you do for the rotors and calipers in the back? I got all four calipers from an 06 RL and I am getting the stoptech rotors you posted in the description. Yet I was wondering if I anything is needed to put the rear calipers on or will those work with the standard rear rotors, if you can get back to me I’d greatly appreciate it.
What grinding on the bracket did you do? I did a test fit of the caliper and the rotor with my stock 2017 rims and the caliper is hitting the rim so i believe i will need spacers, im not sure how much, at least 5mm but maybe 10mm. i wonder if that will leave enough stud sticking out for the rim? Any suggestions?
Question, i have seen other RL front calipers that have the raised “ACURA” letters. Your calipers look flat. Is that a year model thing? Why do some RL calipers have the raised letters others not?
@@FATmods just saw on summit’s app, remanufactured RL 4pot calipers are $85, $105, and $117 for different brands. Can I use a 08 Nissan Maxima front rotors or it needs to be a 350z rotors what’s the diameter on the rotors I need you know...thanks for the information
Hey FAT Mods... The calipers you have dont have the raised ACURA letters. All of the calipers I am looking at on ebay for 2005-2012 have the raised letters that say ACURA. Whats the difference. Also when you order the adapter, do you order it for a 2013-2017 Honda Accord Coupe or do you order it for an acura? Great video!!
I had the upgrade done with the stock 19” rims, needed spacers and extended wheel studs to make it clear the larger caliper. I also lowered my Accord LX 1” with TruHart Sport Shocks and Eibach Pro Springs. However, when running @60+ mph there’s a lot of vibration on the dash and the steering wheel. Any idea what it may be?.
F.A.T mods I ordered the hubcentric spacers priority so I’ll have them in a couple days. Tires were balanced and an alignment done however my rims are bent on the inside part, they’re not massively bent, don’t know if that could also have something to do there but it vibrates quite hard at times when in the highway 60+ mph. Hey, question. Have you had any occurrences of squealing after doing this conversion? I did the exact same thing on mine and I can’t stop the driver side from squealing. I have cleaned and sanded the pins as well as put anti seize on all contact points of the pad to caliper. Still no luck. Any suggestions would help.
F.A.T mods okay will do. The squealing only occurs while braking. This may still be caused by the heat shield? I really appreciate you taking the time to reply.
Does anyone know if there would be fitment issues running these calipers and rotors and using the OE 18" Honda Sport wheels? I'm locating the RL calipers and I would add spacers until I can purchase my new wheels later this year. Thanks.
zack Mc like i said they are from a nissan 350z. honda rotor is not big enough for those calipers. But the part number listed in the comments and they will fit.
Great video bro, do you happen to know if this will work for a 15-20 Acura TLX? Since the 9th gen have some similarities such as the after market coilovers.
F.A.T mods cool brother thank you and i heard i could use altima discs but i would like you to please advise me into which are the correct one and what size in diameter
deathstrike gamer hey bro i installed the calipers but could not use the factory rotors i used 2006 nissan maxima and it works very nice or you can use the rotors from the Rl which is the same as the maxima. It works im driving the car every day and it works exellent but im using 20 inch rims. It won't clear accord sport factory rims unless you put a spacer
Bro did you hear any clunking noise coming from the wheels area I did everything Properly but I am hearing an intermittent noise on both sides!!!! Brakes work Great however
Ok so i am trying to do the same thing, but amazon tells me that the rotos you have linked does not fit .... whats the deal ? As i look at the picture the rotos don't have the holes in the right place. can you please make sure and get back to us Thank you very much for the vid.
It doesn't matter what Amazon said I did it to my car so that's the part it needs. Honda doesn't make a rotor that big and the one that would fit is from a Nissan z. If you want to do the conversation buy the items in the discription and you won't have a problem.
How many liters of the DOT4 brake fluid did you have to use to refill after you bled the whole brake system?. Also, will this DOT4 brake fluid from Brembo also work: www.oscaroparts.com/brembo-brake-fluid-l-04-010-20361432-11389-p?ctx=%7b%22part.genart%22%3a%2211389%22%2c%22vehicle.oscvehicleconfig%22%3a%2249440%22%7d
For the stock DOT3 brake fluid from Honda they recommend changing it every 2-3 years under normal driving conditions. Is it any different for the DOT4 fluid under normal driving conditions?. I’ll probably drive a bit hard but not all the time.
@@FATmods As per Loctite: The red products are so powerful that they require heat to be disassembled. Red is permanent lock and requires heat to help remove the bolt.
Make sure the heat shield is not touching anything
F.A.T mods okay will do. The squealing only occurs while braking. This may still be caused by the heat shield? I really appreciate you taking the time to reply.
Take the wheels off put in drive and listen to see where its coming from when you brake
Does anyone know if there would be fitment issues running these calipers and rotors and using the OE 18" Honda Sport wheels? I'm locating the RL calipers and I would add spacers until I can purchase my new wheels later this year. Thanks.
i was running after market 18 i had on my civic with no issues
DRIVER0051 did you ever get the brake kit put on with the 18inch rims. I also have a sport model. Just wondering if I would need spacers
The '16 &'17 19s from Sport & touring model will need a 5mm hubcentric spacer. Dont thing i need longer studs but ill find out soon
What “modification” did you do to the mounting plate exactly?
I talk to tge company and it's all good now no modification needed
Is it necessary to change the wheel studs for extended ones to put these calipers on
Roberto Alicea it would be best, there wasn't much thread left and it also depends on the type of rim you are using
F.A.T mods I got 19 tsw on my accord
Roberto Alicea you would have to do a test fit to know for sure
Dope video!!!!
What Vehicle year make and model do those drilled and slotted rotors belong to? Anyone know
2006 Nissan 350Z
It’s says those rotors don’t fit my 16 Accord coupe, are the rotors for another car ? Please let me know
zack Mc like i said they are from a nissan 350z. honda rotor is not big enough for those calipers. But the part number listed in the comments and they will fit.
F.A.T mods okay thanks man, keep making awesome videos 🤟🏾
zack Mc thanks man keep watching
@@FATmods what year 350Z?
Just copy the part number from the comments
Did you have to resize the center hub circle of the 350z rotor of everything fit original??
Fits original
Ok great...thanks for replying bro super nice and informative video. Have a nice day
Anytime
Great video bro, do you happen to know if this will work for a 15-20 Acura TLX? Since the 9th gen have some similarities such as the after market coilovers.
They are originally from a acura so they might
Does the factory 18" wheel fit or did you have to put spacer
Sorry just found my answer in your comments
Spacers
You didn't need a center ring for those rotors?
No
cool man, cool vid
Will this work(fit) with a 2013 Honda Accord 4 cyl OEM 17 inch wheels? Thanks.
Don't know if it will fit a 17" rim
F.A.T mods ok, thanks. What wheel size did you use by the way? 18 inch? Larger? Thanks again.
18" and 19"
So no change in proportioning?
How long do the caliper brackets take to ship?
Depending Where you located
Hello brother i got a question. Can I intall those calipers on my 2014 accord sport while keeping factory discs or it doesn't work?
NO factory disc is to small
F.A.T mods cool brother thank you and i heard i could use altima discs but i would like you to please advise me into which are the correct one and what size in diameter
Kano Young check the description it has the info on all the parts then you could compare the size
Kano Young I also have a 2014 Accord sport running 18inch rims. If you get it working on yours please keep me posted
deathstrike gamer hey bro i installed the calipers but could not use the factory rotors i used 2006 nissan maxima and it works very nice or you can use the rotors from the Rl which is the same as the maxima. It works im driving the car every day and it works exellent but im using 20 inch rims. It won't clear accord sport factory rims unless you put a spacer
Will this be the same for an 8th gen accord coupe?
I wouldn't know
What brake line are those and for what car did u order it for the accord or an RL
Hey by any chance do you know if this kit will be good on a 2018 Accord with the stock wheels ?
I don't think the change the suspension much but you might need spacers
F.A.T mods huh ?
@@waldynvasquez9335 yes what's wrong with that?
They should still fit the 2018 but you might need wheel spacers.
Bro did you hear any clunking noise coming from the wheels area I did everything Properly but I am hearing an intermittent noise on both sides!!!! Brakes work Great however
Make sure nothing is rubbing and all bolts are tight
F.A.T mods thanks brother I’ll check everything out tomorrow and let you know
I have hub rings for my wheels do you think that may be an issue as well I can send you pics
F.A.T mods appreciate you responding that’s man added you on IG and sent you some pics of the car and the caliper
What rotors did u use for wich car are they meant for ?thanks
Sorry do also know if this will work on a 2012 honda accord
Part number is in the description and I said it in the video
Thanks man must have. Missed it
👍👍
Do you know if this would work on a TLX.
No I don't
Ok so i am trying to do the same thing, but amazon tells me that the rotos you have linked does not fit .... whats the deal ? As i look at the picture the rotos don't have the holes in the right place.
can you please make sure and get back to us Thank you very much for the vid.
Xbox Master because the rotor are from a nissan z to fit the calipers
@@FATmods what year nissan z?
It doesn't matter what Amazon said I did it to my car so that's the part it needs. Honda doesn't make a rotor that big and the one that would fit is from a Nissan z. If you want to do the conversation buy the items in the discription and you won't have a problem.
Anybody know Where can I find the Bracket to bolt up the brake?
If you check the discription you will find the info
are u running aftermarket wheels or factory
Watch the other videos and you will see
Would this work on 8th Gen., Honda accord Ex coupe?
Yes
How did you get rid of "ACURA" logo on the caliper?
Nhia Vang There are 2 different calipers 1 with acura and 1 without. You can also grind off the logo
The StopTech rotors you used are they made for the Acura or Honda ?
Just a little maybe an inch and the rims i used cleared without any spacers
All good, but those brakes are not Brembos ;D these are Advics
We’re the rotors expensive when you bought them
What kind of Rotor did you use?...and size...
Part number In the description
How much did you pay for the Calipers?
What kind of extended wheel studs are those?
Arp
Part number
Well they fit for 2017 Honda accord sport
I would take so I don't think they change the bolt tread. Whey you go to buy just check fitment info
this fit on a accord sport 2016 sedan..? thanks
Check if the bracket will fit. I think it will fit but double check
F.A.T mods i see ffc have bracket for 13 to 17 accord
Now all you need is calipers
F.A.T mods one more question.. about the rotors. What size will fit.?
Also would 19 rims clear it?
16 & 17 19s dont fit without a small spacer.
Bossman which part of Guyana you from?
From Jamaica
@@FATmods could have passed for Guyanese..😀 i like the way you explain all those details and to share all the links and info. Thank you
My pleasure keep watching
That caliper looks like candy
Just don't eat it 😁😁
@@FATmods 🤣🤣🤣
How many liters of the DOT4 brake fluid did you have to use to refill after you bled the whole brake system?. Also, will this DOT4 brake fluid from Brembo also work: www.oscaroparts.com/brembo-brake-fluid-l-04-010-20361432-11389-p?ctx=%7b%22part.genart%22%3a%2211389%22%2c%22vehicle.oscvehicleconfig%22%3a%2249440%22%7d
Jose Vasconcellos I used about 800ml in total. The brembo should be fine
For the stock DOT3 brake fluid from Honda they recommend changing it every 2-3 years under normal driving conditions. Is it any different for the DOT4 fluid under normal driving conditions?. I’ll probably drive a bit hard but not all the time.
Jose Vasconcellos if you are running big brake kit runt dot4 high temp not the synthetic it holds up better
F.A.T mods thanks a lot for the info.
We’re can I get the bracket
fatfourcustoms.com/shop/brake-...
You should only use Blue and not Red lock nut as Red can only be release with heat.
That's a false statement and the manufacturer's of the bracket said to use red not blue. Red is harder to loosen that's all
@@FATmods As per Loctite: The red products are so powerful that they require heat to be disassembled. Red is permanent lock and requires heat to help remove the bolt. You will need to remove that bold to replace the rotor in the future. As per Loctite Blue - Medium strength thread locker for fasteners up to 3/4". Cures reliably even
on stainless steel. Tolerant of oil and other contamination. Protects threads from rust and
corrosion. Parts can be disassembled with hand tools. No heat required.
I really dont care because I took off many bolts with red and I didn't use heat. You do you.👍👍
@@FATmods I'm just saying because many of the other Auto RUclipsrs like Chrisfix, show when to use Red or Blue plus they also show how to replace calipers and what torque to use. It's also on the Loctite website.
Good for them if the manufacture said to use red I will, they design it and know what to use.
What about bleeding
What about bleeding
Check the description all the info is there
Did you change the back calipers also to the RL's too? If so (or not) would the same conversion fit like you did to the front
You know the dimensions on this brackets
No I don't I suggest u buy the stoptech because they were tested and they fit perfect
Mine is +35 and I have 1/8 clearance
I have a 9th gen accord with F1R 18"x9.5 +40 offset wheels. Will this fit inside my wheels without touching?
Good video, however...Torque specs are all wrong!Bracket to knuckle bolt - 70 FtlbsNylock Nuts - 40 FtlbsCaliper Mounting Bolts - 60 Ftlbsalso, you weren't even holding the bolt while torqueing the nut, it was just spinning...LOLBut the biggest problem I have is you putting a Brembo decal on an ADVICS caliper... TISK TISK....and you have 2 crush washers on the brakeline side.
just remember to clean the rotors before installation.
Lol.....
I know this video is old as hell, but RL didn’t have brembos. They came with ADVICS
Try getting a set from a s4
At least 25 to 30 % better braking
You guyanese bro?
He’s Jamaican
