Some of Wicket Twisters LIMs where salvaged and sent to this ride for replacements.

When it goes backwards the 2nd time, does it not "lock" while looking straight down anymore?? I remember the restraints would kind of jolt and you would get pushed forward, and everyone would freak out for their first time when they didn't know it was coming. It looks like in this video and others that I've watched, that it doesn't have that effect anymore
Yes this ride used to have the holding brake at the top of the spike. Maintainance and money is the reason it’s not operating nowadays!
@@EastCoasters Wow that's a bummer - I remember being pretty young and anticipating everyone gasping at that moment when they didn't know it was coming. That really sucks they had to remove it

sometimes they say “your going to be possessed in 5,4” then shoot the coaster before they even make it to 3
I remember riding this for the first time with the holding brake, but now I have to ride it now without it.
An upgrade would be a twist on the straight way
this is basically the 2.0 of wicked twister so we can still ride it btw i just rode it

@EastCoasters not really. It was causing alot of stress on the track and over time, stress fractures started to appear. Also the cost of maintaining that pice of the ride was getting too much. I mean, now these days the majority of the time, the LIMs don't fire as they used to. Remember this ride is old, its 23 years old now. One of the first gens impulse coaster. Finding parts to keep it maintained is starting to become hard. LIMs are outdated and Intamin doesn't really service it anymore. From my understanding, Cedar fair poached some of Wicket Tiwsters LIMs so they can replace it on this ride. It's old and Dorney Park isn't that popular. As we know Dorney has been always treated as a black sheep in the Cedar Fair company. I have a feeling this ride is soon facing its end of life span, unfortunately.

Costs and astronomical amount to keep the magnets up there from wear and tear
Valleyfair does! But most parks don't because it puts an insane amount of stress on the track and trains. These rides are getting old and have enough maintenance issues to deal with already, structural issues would pretty much mean the end of the ride.
So sad to slowly see these guys dying out one by one
