Didgori Battle Memorial

We visited the Didgori Battle Monument on our way to Gori. The monument is impressive. This battle is significant in Georgian history as the victory over the Muslim army in 1121 inaugurated the Georgian Golden Age. Georgians continue to remember the event as an annual August 12 festival known as Didgoroba.
