Snowbird is my all time fav mountain as well. Lived in Aspen worked at Snowmass for a few years but I always come home to Snowbird. Dick Bass and crew did a wonderful job building such a wonderful family resort

Glad u had a great day riding at the bird. 25 yrs of riding the bird, easily the top opening day. private resort, walk on chairs all day. . snowbird was nice enough to give the employees a ski day before opening in gad valley so peruvian gulch was the place to b first thing, pretty much untracked with a great traverse put in to make to the top of cirque which was blower first thing. wish i could met u, and showed around. have a great season

Your comment about rocks at Snowbird is true. The mountain is a ton of granite. You can hit "rocks" after 100". Of course, they aren't rocks, but granite. I've skied there on and off for 35 years, and probably had 6 season passes. I hit a rock yearly every time I do there.
Holy crap!!! Those conditions were amazing for an opening day. They probably need some additional snow to open my favorite run "Regulator Johnson". I love skiing the scrub brush over there. Seems like hardly anyone ever skis that section!!! Thanks for bringing us along!!! Mo-
its always weird seeing videos like this, because I work here so its just a normal day for me. I forget that this is so many people favorite resort and they just come up here to ski cause they love it.
@@LucasCatania17 the 95-96 season was so good that we didn’t even go up the canyon on our days off unless it was a foot of fresh, which was very often.
Wow that was ridiculous. I love Snowbird too... I got to ski 4 days last year at Snowbird/Alta. Such great mountains... running top to bottom laps on the Gondola... come on! Not to mention the backside. Let us know when you're coming to CA... I'm a mid-week Sugar Bowl skier!
Opening day snowbird , no one knew what an epic year it would be ! I knew it was going to be a big snow year even if all the experts said it wasn’t , but I did not know it would blast through all records . What a year , had a lot of fun watching your videos enjoying the snow.

Wow! this place looks amazing, the only place I really ever skied was in Breckenridge but this place looks phenomenal especially how there's so much snow this early.
One of the best powder ski resorts in the entire world My brother and I spent a lot of time there in the '80s I was telling you that Lucas that place is unbelievable moisture content of the snow can be anywhere from 6 and 8% on a really dry storm super powwows

@@LucasCatania17 ha- just saying as a lesser skier , I would turn away from some of the trees so much earlier than you, even when you are skiing the side of a groomer some of your quick turns on the side are cool/scary looking to me
Been watching your videos since last year. Since last season ended ive just been waiting to get back out and get better at skiing. From the east coast so got those nice icy conditions and listening to your run on Tower 3 was sick. Makes me wanna come out west one day and hit some real pow.
