I've done both free and Calc shipping and have seen NO difference on sales. I also sell mostly collectables and those buyers expect to pay shipping. Free shipping can also come back to bite you on returns and extra fees on promoted sales.
Oh man, I aspire to do this! I am notorious for over packaging everything because I’m so terrified something will get damaged. I had slight anxiety just watching you pack some of this stuff in poly mailers even though I know you’re right and they will be fine! This is my own issue I have to work through lol!
Tell that to the people that sold me a flashlight and it arrived in a poly with no paddinf, or the computer toner that arrived in a poly with no padding, please use a box when appropriate.
Awesome video man. Exactly what I needed to learn today. You've really help me out with my start up. Also showing the collectibles was EXACTLY what I needed. Thanks.
Just went on the usps site the other day to get detailed info for shipping. Had an idea before for a specific type of item shipped but I’m posting a wider variety of things now so I figured I better have an accurate idea to not get gouged later. Also just bought a bundle of poly mailers to utilize! Will be checking out your other videos!
I just use flat shipping fee for everything I’ve tried free shipping but I also allow offers so free shipping is a no go but with flat shipping most of the time I make money on shipping but on a rare occasion I lose on shipping but it evens out and the money I make on shipping helps with buying packing materials and boxes. Great video very helpful learning other people’s tips and tricks.
Either way you do it you should view it as a total price. There’s trending prices on eBay so if an item is trending at $40 free shipping, why would anyone buy yours at $40 plus shipping so you’d want to list at $40 free ship or like $32 plus $8 shipping. I find it easier to just do free shipping. Just make sure you know what things will cost to ship so you don’t get burned on your projections if you do this. The eBay shipping calculator is a great way to learn these rates. Thanks for watching
First I want to thank you for all the content you share I’ve learned a lot. My question is what you choose when you send them in poly mailbags and you calculate them??
You just select the service whether that’s first class, parcel, priority, ups, FedEx Etc. You just put the dimensions of the bag in and the weight and select. There’s nothing special you have to select
This is my third time referencing this video. I'm curious... how would you ship Adidas slide sandals? You've shown them multiple times on your channel. (I know, I know.... Poly mailer, right? 😊) Your videos have been SO HELPFUL. Thank you for constantly sharing and inspiring.
Your Polly Mailer Therory may be correct as far as breaking, however Poly Mailers due rip on shipping sometimes and then you have staining to worry about. I tend to Double Polly alot of my items just incase.
@@MillennialProfit 🤣 Yea, I honestly have only had a few customers have issues however I have received several items my self that have had the issue so maybe that’s why I’m a little not cautious 🤷♂️
some things you sent in a poly mailer looked over a pound but then you said about sweatshirts over a pound that you send in a padded priority. why wouldnt it go in a polymailer. whats the difference. love your videos. your videos helped me make the leap to do this. sold my first item yesterday… thanks for the advice
Great video!! I have been watching you all year! Thank you for all the helpful tips you give!! Question. When selling on eBay and it’s under a pound. You use Polly mailers. Do you get the label from eBay? How do you know the estimated cost? From the shipping calculator? Or do you take it to USPS and buy the label there?
I'd like to know where are you sourcing from, you have a lot of nice new stuff, I only find garage sale and estate sale stuff where I am. My whole problem is sourcing.
Thanks show in lots of my videos where I source from. I source online, at retail stores, and I buy pallets. Check out my sourcing playlist and I show lots of places I buy stuff. I also have a leads group Bread and Butter to help others find inventory and learn how to source
How to ship Hot Wheels. I bought 12 cars at 50 cents each. I just don't know what to charge to make a profit with shipping included. I know about the treasure hunt and super treasure hunt cars . My question is do I add the shipping into the price and offer free shipping. Ebay rips you with 13.25% plus .30 each sale. I started to bundle some of the sets or lots to avoid shipping cost for each. Any suggestions?
Rarely ever use poly mailers, mostly sell collectible toys. But I do send poly mail able items here n there. What sizes do u use? More so interested in the larger sizes Thanks!
The dimension of the poly once the items in it. So the length and height of the poly and say you put a shirt it in and it’s width is 3” with the shirt in you’d put that
What's the average size poly mailer that you feel will cover most of your packaging, or do you have different sizes? if so, what are those sizes thank you for those specifics in the videos and actually showing items and showing what you would ship them in.
So do you punch in the dimensions of the polybag after its loaded and punch those numbers into ebay calculator. And what usps service are you using to determine your rates
I’m super inexperienced so forgive me if this is a dumb question, but where’s the best place to get poly mailers? I know that certain places are really expensive, so I don’t wanna make a bad decision
I use Pirate Ship because you can cut and paste. They both have the same rates so it is just personal preference. GoShipo got UPS first but now Pirate Ship has it so you can use either one.
@@Jameson11ink Thanks. USPS has a box for media mail. I live in a remote area, the post office doesn't have it. Could you tell me which one is cheaper? Thank you Jameson
@@anawinter2546 there isn't a special box, you just select media mail as your shipping method. Be sure to read media mail requirements as to what is considered vs what isn't etc. I've sold dvds and put in a bubble mailer with media mail postage label. No problems
🤔can i ask since im new at selling. Is the final price after fees also after shipping too? Like i sold something for 39 plus shipping so 45 and i got 37$.. so is the 37$after the shipping and if so why does my card get charged?
My answer use to be “ancient 👽 “ now its “poly mailers”. Thanks for the laugh! Happy shipping!

I am ordering another case of polymailers. Thank you for another video of excellent advice!!
I do the same with fees. It is much easier to over calculate and call it a day and then get down to true numbers at the end of each month.

Sweatshirts go in a Padded Flat Rate because it’s cheaper than standard priority 90% of the time on them.
Big items kill me every time...I sent a typewriter and ups destroyed it dropped it on the pavement & destroyed a vcr I sent as well ....
The beautiful thing is you get $100 insurance with ups and if it’s over $100 I always insure for the extra amount as well
Great vid

I am having the same problem that you are teaching us to fix. Shipping is taking away from my profits.
Under a pound you send first class. You can send first class in a box or mailer, whatever. It all has to be under a pound when it’s packed up.
Thank you!
Link to the other videos mentioned ??
In the description. I’ve also made multiple playlists on various subjects
Can I modify the USPS shipping boxes to fit certain items? And if so, how would I do it or I can’t do that . Thanks.
Yea as long as it’s a priority mail in box, not flats rate box
When you sell things like the things you showed for dimensions, do you wrap the box or out it in another box?
Show us how you measure the bag.......
With a ruler. Just measure the L W H of the bag with the product in it, super easy……

No that’s over 1 lb already and is breakable. So that goes in a box

When you’re using a poly mailer, what measurements do you put in? This confuses me!

@@MillennialProfit yeah, all over the place trying to get back on it after many years, so many great tools on Ebay to use now. Thanks for the videos.
Is there a Amazon shipping calculator as well? Or can I use the eBay one ?
Same rates for the most part so the eBay one works. Amazon has a better deal with UPS so that’s the only one that’s different
Thank you so much
Where can I get a poly mailer a large size , large enough to fit a comforter in ?
Amazon

Yes dimensions are of the package and first class or priority. You can use the eBay shipping calculator to determine rates

All different places. I provide the leads in my cook group bread and butter
Can you just wrap unbreakable items in brown paper?
If you use a lot of brown paper. I avoid breakable items now because no matter how well you pack them they still end up broken more then not
How about video games? How do you ship?
Bubble mailer

Amazon
