What a fantastic rundown on what I'll need to get started! Just a couple of questions: 1) I think I heard somewhere that magazines can't go via Media Mail.. What should I use? 2) I don't have a printer for making the label. You mentioned that I could bring the QR code to the post office and they would print the label for me. Did I understand that correctly? Besides the QR code, what other information will they need? How much more expensive is it to do it that way, roughly? 3) If I don't select "Print Label", will that mean that my sale hasn't been properly recorded?--Finally, thank you for a truly comprehensive, well-organized and easy to understand explanation of all of this! You're incredible!!!
Just thought I'd answer even tho this is 5 mos old. Maybe it will help someone else who comes along....1) Anything w/advertisements in them cant go media mail. Just use a tyvek poly to send it in. If you want to protected it, then sandwich the magazine between two cardboard pieces or ship in a mailer made for books/magazines. Im sure Amazon has them. Use First Class postage. 2) the QR code allows the PO to print your label for you. They'll put it on and give you a receipt. I don't believe there is an extra cost, but I have not tried it. 3) I'm a little lost on this question, but I think you mean at the time the sale is made you can choose Purchase Shipping label (as shown in the video at 34.14). You'd choose the shipping service you want to use, then chose if you want a printable label or a QR code, then Print Shipping label. You'd only want to go through these steps if you want to print a label from ebay. Once you select Print Shipping label, ebay will populate a shipping label for you to print (at this point the label was purchased). If you don't actually Print the label after purchase I'd assume ebay still records the shipping label for the order/sends it to buyer to track. If you dont print, you cant ship it. You can also choose not to go through these steps at all and purchase the label from another source (such as Pirate Ship), but you'll have to come back to ebay and record the tracking # that you were given so ebay can send it to your buyer to show proof of label purchase and to allow buyer to track the item.
Hi dear Sarah. I’ve learned so much from your channel. Thank you so much. Can you please make a video about how to resell and ship on Amazon ? Thanks a million
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I am just starting out selling on Ebay and you had so many great tips in here and things I wouldn't have even thought about (the photo on the scale, polymailer for shoes, etc.). 👏😁
Thank you for being so clear and taking your time to explain the differences in shipping. Can you exclude international sales to calculated shipping fees while offering free or flat rate to others? Thank you

I need to get back to working out but school is soooo stressful at the end of the semester. I only have a week and a half left and then I can start working out and running again.
Thanks for this video. Augh, I have been selling on Poshmark and just started listing on eBay. I had a few sales within a few hours and they seem to be fake. They both didn't pay and one wanted me to email them to answer questions. I knew better but what a pain in the ass.
@@SandraTheMomBoss Thanks, they "ordered" the items but have not paid. It really is a hassle that I have to wait 4 days to cancel it. I had no idea. Poshmark makes it easier but eBay seems to get much more traction.
Hello, Sandra! Thank you so much for all of this information! It's very helpful! I'm so glad I found your RUclips Channel and clicked the Subscribed Button. You are awesome!!! God bless you and thank you again. ☺
where did you get that clear wrapping paper from, do i have to wrap it like that or can i just throw it into one of those big envalopes you showed? also, what if i dont have anything to weigh the item? and if i schedule a pickup with usps can i just show them the qr code, i dont have a printer and i dont have a car to send the items there :(
Thank you soo much for this informative video! I really appreciate it! I saw your list of cleaners. Do you recommend something to properly clean shoes (both rubber and leather)? And what do you recommend to clean the bottoms of shoes where thrifts stores write the price in marker? Any way to remove it? Thank you in advance!
Love the video w/great information. BTW, I was a bit confused because ebay charges me the fee based on the total sale including shipping and taxes. To me it is crazy to charge a fee on Taxes...wonder if that could be illegal actually (its a tax that we cant control and have no way to manipulate). I understand why ebay charges a fee on shipping even though they shouldn't if the shipping is standard based on the carrier rates. Guess that really cant be monitored on each individual sale. It is what it is. We can thank those sellers who years ago who didn't want to pay a fee on the sale of the item, so they lowered the item price to like .99 cents then used the Flat Rate shipping and added in the shipping, plus item cost of item to avoid fee's. Ebay caught on and fixed that problem. I do occasionally see it done, but not sure why. Maye so buyer will pay less in taxes? It could also be a way to avoid taxes. Not sure.
This was a very informative video. I'm glad I clicked onto yours. I, like others in the comments, am nervous about the shipping aspect. I have plenty of items to sell! I have a question or two. Since my regular printer is not too reliable, I am looking into something like what you have, a Dymo. Do you recall where you purchased it, and are refillable labels pricey? Also, what type of scale is needed. Does my nervous -ness show much? I know. I know. I have new items and a large collection of sports cards that I am currently researching, hoping to get at least a few out onto the site soon. Thanks again.
@@SandraTheMomBoss Well, it turns out I need a wireless printer, and unfortunately, I do not find one in the Dymo brand, as I had hoped. Sooooo ... looking for something else before Cyber Monday ends.
We’ve been taking our packages to the Post Office to get a receipt. Have you run into any issues not getting a receipt? Thank you for the detailed video!
I don't have the space right now for a printer and other supplies needed to ship items out .. What's the best and cheapest way for me to utilize USPS shipping ? TIA
Hi Sandra! Thank you sooo much for this very informative video! I'm getting ready to cross list all my items from Poshmark to Ebay so you answered so many questions I have! I have a question...I think my scale is the s as me as yours but where did you get the stand up piece that is at the back of your scale so you can stand up your items to read the weight easier? I'd love to get one!😊
Hi Sandra! I love the information you've provided on this video. I don't know if you know but this is a struggle i am currently having, I have 1 item listed with multiple quantity available, I've entered in all the details in terms of weight and dimensions using the calculated shipping option, no problem when someone buys 1. But when someone buys 2 of that 1 item the shipping only changed by couple of cent and when i go to print the shipping label it only shows the dimension of 1 and not 2. I ended up having to fork out some $ for shipping cost of 2. Do you know how to resolve this?
Hi Sandra I'm so excited to start but I'm wondering about postage? How much should I buy? And I noticed you have a weight scale? I thought I just had to measure,?
Debra, you would not buy postage until the item sells. When you post items to sell on ebay, you weigh the item on a scale along w/the pkg or box you'll ship in, measure the package or box (remember a package will weigh less than a box, but not all items should be shipped in a package), key those items into your post and choose Calculated shipping. If someone buys the item, the shipping cost will be "calculated" based on the buyers zip code. They will them pay for the item plus shipping, then you'll use the shipping funds to purchase the label through ebay.
Hi Sandra. What a great video. I want to start selling on ebay as well. I have a question when you print out the shipping label is the tracking number on there to give to the customer how does this work. I know it's probably a silly question but I don't know. Thank you in advance
The dimensions the mfg gave you of the pkg size. Round up if its like 11.225 as a measurement. My poly mailers are 13 x 10, then when I post I also use the thickness of my pkg. So 13 x 10 x 2 or what ever it is.
WHAT IF I PUT THE WRONG MEASUREMENTS BUT WEIGHT IS GOOD? FOR EXAMPLE IF I WANT TO SHIP A PAIR OF SHOES THAT WEIGHT 2.5 LBS AND I PUT 3 LBS. IS THAT OK?
Sorry, but the page showing the shipping details was blurry and I couldn't read it. I wish you would do that part over. Overall, I like your videos very much. Thank you so much for all the work you do to help us in our Resale businesses.
OMG 😳 I been selling on EBay for 3 months now!! ( First time I’m genuinely glad it’s been slow for my LOL 😂 so no mistakes made so far !) I didn’t even now there’s other shipping options . I always use the recommended option from Ebay . I just listed a heavy winter jacket EBay gives me 5 pound option with 12 by 12 package dimension option . I don’t think 🤔 It will fit since this a heavy jacket . Should I just leave it like that or make a change to a large box? This part is confusing for me :(
Sandra HELP 😆 Can someone help me understand the shipping option for USPS Parcel Select. I'm listing an item that is 1lb 8oz. It fits perfectly in a Priority Mail Large Mailing Box, and weighs 2lb, 6.3 oz boxed up. So I chose Priority Mail Calculated shipping $10.20 to $20.20. But USPS Parcel Select is showing $7.59-$12.65. If someone chose that option, can I mail it in any box I have (not Priority boxes) that is a similar size to the large mailing box?? I know it takes up to 8 business days also, and I don't know how to inform the buyer of this before purchase. This is where I get hung up, every single time! Also, this is an 8ft Inflatable LED Halloween Yard Decoration, nicely boxed but I'm scared to put it in a polymailer
Any shipping mailer needs measurements of the length, width and height (height would include the item in the mailer). Whatever shipping suppliers are avail in Canada should populate based on shipping from your zip code to the buyers zip code.
I think ebay has a way to go to the sold items and combine the items into one invoice? Then weigh the items and key that in to determine shipping cost, invoice the buyer. My best guess as I have not done this.
Mercai charges $6.18 for most of my shipping labels (up to 1 lb). I dont use a flat rate box as its expensive. How much are your items weighing? Anything over 1 lb should go to Pirate Ship, but you'll have to add insurance.
Poshmark charges every customer 7.99 flat shipping rate for all items so wouldn't it be ok to follow that rule ? Let's say a flat fee of $8 unless it's an obvious larger heavier item? I realize Poshmark has a deal set up with usps but even if I did a flat rate of let's say $9 flat rate for most items wouldn't that work?
hello mam actually I am new in drop shipping I sell product on amazon from ebay please guide me about this one how I mange the shipping label that put on parcel box from eBay because customer say I order on amazon but receive from eBay. please help out
Maybe I can help or not. You technically cant drop ship from ebay, but I'll explain. The reason is that per Amazon Drop Shipping Policy, you must be the Seller of Record. This means that you cannot purchase products from another online retailer to have that retailer ship to the customer unless YOU are identified as the seller on packing slips, invoices and shipping labels. Its strictly prohibited w/out exception. In order to become the Seller of Record, you would need to find a source to drop ship from and have a signed agreement with them that they will identify you as the seller of the items. In saying that, Amazon states that if you intend to fulfill orders using a drop shipper, you must always have an agreement w/the supplier (as I indicated above), remove any packing slips, invoices, external packaging or other info identifying a third-party drop shipper prior to shipping the order, be responsible for accepting and processing customer returns and comply with all other terms of your Amazon seller agreement. Now to answer your question in regards to the above question...you would have had to message the ebay seller and tell them to not include any invoice or packing slips in the order, mail order in plain packaging and not to use any thing that would identify this is an ebay order (even the shipping label). My guess is that the ebay store you purchased it from sent the item to the buyer in either an ebay mailer, used ebay tape, included an invoice that shows ebay, etc. My ebay shipping labels do not say Ebay on them, so that would not have been how the buyer found out. Now, if YOU Sell on ebay (per what the video explains) when the buyer pays shipping, you are sent the money for the shipping label. At that point, you can purchase the shipping label, using the buyers money directly from ebay (many times its cheaper this way) or you can buy it from Pirate Ship if you wanted. Since its been three weeks since you posted your issue it may be mute now, but you could always say that you sell on ebay as well as Amazon and the person who prepares your shipments got things messed up. From here on out, you need to read the Amazon Drop Shipping policy on seller central (read everything you can find) and be very careful what you do because you could get your Amazon account closed. Especially if your buyer complains to Amazon about it. Good luck.
This is what is throwing me off. So you are getting ready to post your item .You go in and list it and go with calculated shipping. Ok STOP: You do not know who is going to buy your item you have no clue. He could live in Fl or NC the FL is going to be more money for me because of the distant I am in NV. You say using Ebay calcuated option to put in the zip code to where its going ! HOW CAN YOU DO THAT ? YOU DONT KNOW WHO IS GOING TO BUY IT NOR WHERE THEY LIVE! How can you put in a zip code for a buyer or area that does not exist ? YOU HAVENT SOLD IT ! This is really messing me up so how do you figure out shipping for a Ghost Buyer that doesnt exist yet because you have not sold the item? I see all these sellers telling me to put in a zip code for a buyer that does not exist ! I have been beating my head agaisnt the wall trying to wrap my mind around how to put in shipping for a buyer that does not exist nor the area that does not exist . I have no zip code to put in because I havent sold the item I am just listing the item ! Help please !😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐
You don't enter any zip codes. If you choose Calculated shipping, ebay will "calculate" the shipping rate based on the buyers zip code at the time of the purchase. The buyer will pay the shipping rate based on their zip code and service they select. Ebay will send you the cost of your item, PLUS the postage the buyer had to pay based on their zip code and the shipping service they chose. You then take the shipping money they paid and purchase the label from ebay. Now, I have not used anything but Calculated shipping, so I'm going off limited info for Flat Rate. Flat Rate under Domestic Shipping means you choose a rate YOU want to charge for shipping. I had a buyer in Cali and her postage was $10.61. Had I chose Flat Rate on my ebay listing and keyed in $10.00, but the label actually cost $10.61, the .61c would be out of my pocket. If the label cost $9.95, then I would not be out any funds, but would gain a little as the buyer paid more. That is why she said in the video not to use this feature until you understand how shipping works and understand the rates. What you can do if you do want to use it, is google a zip code in NY and FL and use those zip codes in the ebay calculator. I use zip code 10019 for NY, but you can google Miami, Florida zip code to find one to use. Then when the item sells, you'll have the buyers actual zip code to key in when you purchase the ebay label. The rates will pop up based on that zip code. Hope this made since to you and anyone else who comes along for help.
@@mstinamichele That was what somebody else told me to put in a zip for an are fart away like Fl and put the rate in for shipping then put that rate in for your shipping on the item . If the buyer is in Cal and I am in Nv then you are covered . Thank you so much for helping me ! 😊
I hope you monitor you your channel . I totally confused on Calculated and cant get my question answered from anybody on You Tube. Ok here is the deal I got a tip from a seller to get a scale and I did get one. I weighs up 110 lbs .The way he told me on Calculated shipping is you weigh it put in the measurements and when the item sells Ebay puts in the shipping amount depending where the buyer is . I went in Ebay and went to list two items one is a boat part and the other is some very heavy shop manuals . The boat part I would say should cost at least 25 to 35 to ship . The manuals I would think as heavy as they are about $40.00 depending where they go. So I put the items up for auction put the calcuated shipping put in the weight and size and got it posted and live. I went in the next day and Ebay slapped me $7.71 for shipping on the boat part and $9.97 for the heavy books! Why in the hell did they do that I never put in any shipping amount! I had to pull the plug and take both auctions off the auction so now I cannot post anything for sale because nobody will help me and I cant get a straight answer they Ebay slapped me with shipping amounts that wont even cover a 1/4 of the shipping . Help I am stuck dont know what to do ?
For this question, I am not sure as I don't know how Auctions work. Most sellers don't use auctions anymore unless they are trying to get rid of something they cant sell or just want to get rid of something they know will sit a long time. My best guess on shipping is that when the auction is over, ebay provides you with the buyers info, then you have to invoice the buyer for the bidding item plus the shipping based on their zip code. Go to your sold items, then you should be able to invoice a buyer the shipping cost along w/the item they purchased. As far as the book goes, you should be able to use Media Mail to ship and may need to use a service outside of Ebay to purchase it as I'm not sure if they offer media mail. MM is a lot cheaper to ship. Always use a scale, place item in pkg that you plan to ship in w/all packaging. Weigh and measure the box. BTW, Ive seen you post somewhere else, but dont recall where.
@@mstinamichele. Yes I got a scale but learning this new type of auctions. Back in the day before bidens discount program for fuel shipping was fairly reasonable you could look at the item feel it and put a guess on the weight and ship it and 90% be covered Thank you so much for taking the time to help me

This video is amazing, thank you. So helpful
Thank you very much, you have the best tutorials!!
Thank you for being so clear and taking your time to explain the differences in shipping. Can you exclude international sales to calculated shipping fees while offering free or flat rate to others? Thank you
Excellent video! I have been hoping someone would explain the shipping process for Ebay, thank you.
Great video! Thank you for going step by step and clearing out a lot of the unnecessary stuff. This video was extremely helpful for me!
Thank you for this video. You are an excellent teacher!! After watching a few more of your videos I will be really to make my first listing. 😀
This is a great video! Thank you for going into such detail. I’ve learned so much😊
Great video. Thanks for sharing. One of the best instructional videos ive seen.
I am just getting ready to sell on ebay and would like to know what label printer you are using. This video is very informative and answers so many questions I didn't even know I had, lol. Thanks
It’s wonderful watching your educational video. Thank you.
Thank you! The exact video I was looking for ❤
Hello,
Thank you so much for this video it helped me learn a lot. I really enjoy watching your content.
Thank you. I do PM. Ebay is confusing but I want to expand. Do you have a tutorial to start ebay??
Thank you, this was very helpful.
This is next-level info thanks for sharing...
Hello Sandra, do you have any videos that talks International sell, and shipping on eBay? Than you!
Excellent help! thanks
where did you get that clear wrapping paper from, do i have to wrap it like that or can i just throw it into one of those big envalopes you showed? also, what if i dont have anything to weigh the item? and if i schedule a pickup with usps can i just show them the qr code, i dont have a printer and i dont have a car to send the items there :(
I love your videos !!!
Very helpful! Thanks
Very informative! Thanks so much!
@@SandraTheMomBoss Thank you so much!!
TIA
thanks again Sandra
Do you put a thank card and wrap clothing in tissue paper for Ebay? is this thin only for Poshmark? Ebay scares me with shipping and fees
Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤❤😊
What thermal printer should I buy? I googled Dymo, but several models are available.
Please do a video on how to fill out.
I stop ebay because of not know how to ship the product.
If you don’t have a printer does eBay have a QR code so that usps can scan it
How can i hand item to the customer and how do i know when the item i sell
You ship the item to the buyer. You get a notification on the app and an email when you make a sale.
What website would I use to schedule a pickup?
@@SandraTheMomBoss Thank you for the fast reply. I am a subscriber and will be binge watching your videos 😀
I want to use a poly mailer to ship my shirt first class.. what do I put in for package type & dimensions? I’m folding it
The dimensions the mfg gave you of the pkg size.
IS THAT OK?
@@SandraTheMomBoss what if it is usps parcel select ground? an can i ship in any box?
Sorry, but the page showing the shipping details was blurry and I couldn't read it. I wish you would do that part over. Overall, I like your videos very much. Thank you so much for all the work you do to help us in our Resale businesses.
My negotiated price is $5 for
Thank you
The ones that say mailing box the cost is the weight & size correct? If it say flat rate it’s one flat rate price depending size of box correct?
Sandra I can’t thank you enough for this video. It is very detail & answered allot of my questions. 🙏
OMG 😳
I been selling on EBay for 3 months now!! ( First time I’m genuinely glad it’s been slow for my LOL 😂 so no mistakes made so far !)
I didn’t even now there’s other shipping options .
I always use the recommended option from Ebay .
I just listed a heavy winter jacket EBay gives me 5 pound option with 12 by 12 package dimension option . I don’t think 🤔 It will fit since this a heavy jacket . Should I just leave it like that or make a change to a large box?
This part is confusing for me :(
Best video !!!
Thank you for this my biggest fear of selling on eBay is the shipping
So do you package all the things your listing before hand and weigh them and take measurements if so how do you store them?
Also, this is an 8ft Inflatable LED Halloween Yard Decoration, nicely boxed but I'm scared to put it in a polymailer
would the shipping be the same if i am from Canada? like using Usps? also with the measuring can you do the heigh of an envelope or bubble mailer? 🤔
Any shipping mailer needs measurements of the length, width and height (height would include the item in the mailer). Whatever shipping suppliers are avail in Canada should populate based on shipping from your zip code to the buyers zip code.
eBay y so scary,. Thanks for the help.
Hi Sandra! do you know if poshmark ship to Porto rico? I got a order from porto rico.
@@SandraTheMomBoss thank you so much for your quick answer! ❤️
How would I manage the shipping option if my listing contains multiple variations that will change the weight and dimension by the quantity ?
I think ebay has a way to go to the sold items and combine the items into one invoice? Then weigh the items and key that in to determine shipping cost, invoice the buyer. My best guess as I have not done this.
I’m always mailing stuff in flat rate boxes any size any weight easy Mercari definitely screw me overrrr
I don't understand, why is my user interface so different and missing many options?
hello mam actually I am new in drop shipping I sell product on amazon from ebay please guide me about this one how I mange the shipping label that put on parcel box from eBay because customer say I order on amazon but receive from eBay. please help out
Maybe I can help or not.
Good luck.
@@mstinamichele thank a lot

This is really messing me up so how do you figure out shipping for a Ghost
Buyer that doesnt exist yet because you have not sold the item?
