- Apple's 35th annual Worldwide Developers Conference is just a few days away, kicking off on Monday, June 10 with a keynote event at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Apple plans to introduce iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15, tvOS 18, watchOS 11, visionOS 2, and HomePod Software 18. No hardware is expected this year, with the focus set to be on software.

AI is inevitable for every device and platform and operating system, however, Apple really needs to fix iPadOS rather than focusing on just AI

A calculator app for iPadOS? You buried the lede!
IDEAS:
I think the calculator should change. For example you can now drag photos to the calculator and instantly determine the price of that item. This makes it easy for people who does their grocery alot!
Calculator enabled dictation and can accept any kind of computation with the power of OPEN AI. For example you can ask it to compute the “square root of” via voice.
QR / NFC enabled sensors so when you bring the ipad closer to read items and compute for the pricing of the items.
Can read not just numbers, but also text.
Example: “Two plus Two”

I hope Siri is a surprise narrator for WWDC, it would be cool to hear it introduce itself!
Apple has a lot of catching up to do, so far it feels like they will be just announcing Android features coming to the iPhone rather than anything really groundbreaking.
I HATE that I can't ask siri who texted me and what they said when my phone is on another table somewhere. Example: I'm taking a shower and I have my phone on the counter. I get a text. Expecting an important one so I have to get out, dry my hands and feet, open my phone and take a look. Be SO MUCH easier if I could just ask Siri about the message.

I feel like we will all be very disappointed by this update. AI is not something I want or asked for. Yet, things that I asked for, are likely not going to be included. Because the focus will be on stuff nobody asked for. But hey, I hope I'm wrong.

The great thing about humans is our differences. It’s one of the reasons we’ve survived and thrived for so long as a species. That said, I often wonder if those who oppose AI have really seen its value and usefulness. What exactly is it that they don’t like?
We need people with different perspectives to enrich our understanding, but I don’t get why there’s so much negativity towards AI. I often visit assisted living centers and chat with people one-on-one. I’d love to say that almost everyone I meet is open to AI, but that’s not the case. In fact, everyone I’ve talked to about AI is strongly against it. But when I show them how AI can help with things like planning meals, monitoring their health, or even just keeping them company, their opinions start to change.
It’s amazing to see the shift once they realize how AI can make their lives easier and more enjoyable. We just need to bridge that understanding gap and show that AI can actually enhance our human experiences.
Meanwhile it will be optional. You don’t have to use AI if you don’t want to.. like choosing to use Siri or not
