      funny how when a man is selfless, he gets much less praise, men are expected to be selfless.
      But when a woman is selfless, she's a saint, its so unexpected...
      ...what are you saying about most women?

    • @Ariadne4
      @Ariadne4 Год назад

      @@plasmaastronautthat's a lie. Men get praised a lot. It's women who have to do stuff that is beyond their ability in order to receive praise. Women in general are more empathetic and generous. You will never understand how selfless she is to do this, cuz you are not a woman, and you don't know how exhausting it is for the female body, to even survive with this kind of condition

    • @plasmaastronaut
      @plasmaastronaut Год назад

      @@Ariadne4 how much praise have you given the slav men getting their guts blown out by bombs in Ukraine month? The men working in the sewers, coal mines, sulphur mines, polar oceans, logging, roofing, oil rigging, garbage processing? All these jobs are extremely dangerous, men do them and are killed and maimed at high rates.
      But women don't notice any of these selfless men, neither while they live, or when they die trying to make your life safer and more comfortable, and women elect not to do these thankless jobs.
      I will tell you how much praise you've given these men : zero. U can't even name one, and you never will.
      Next time u wake up, have a nice shower, put on some clean clothes, have a nice breakfast, feel healhty and fit, ask yourself why u didn't have to wake at 4am and go down bauxite mine at 6am, or sit in a trench with gangrene in your legs for a month, or work 16 hrs in a sewer. Its because, somewhere out there, there is a man doing it for you. You might want to go find him one day and thank him.

I imagine that a breast milk bank has a lot of expenditures to deal with, including making sure that is well-preserved and healthy for consumption, plus regular operational costs, overhead, distribution and so on. My daughter was born critically ill with mitochondrial disease and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which caused her GI tract to shut down. She would become unable to digest each type of formula prescribed by her doctors about every 2-6 weeks. Because she was born early by c-section and was too small to breast feed, pumping my milk didn't sustain her needs past the time she was in the NICU (3 weeks). She thrived the best on donated breast milk from a milk bank where the milk is tested. It saved her life and carried her through well past the time she had to get a g-tube. She went on TPN after she had her pancreas removed until she had a small bowel and pancreas transplant when she was 4. She's 15 now and doing so much better than ever expected! She's on permanent tube feeding with specially "pre-digested" formula (which is done in a lab). Because she was able to get donated breast milk for so long she is alive today, so I thank anyone who provides this "service". What a beautiful gift.

    Yes, Milk Banks charge that much since they have employees, equipment to research and analyse the milk, make sure there is no toxina or nothing unhealthy in it, also have to pay for permits and licensing, among other spends.

      Salem Thorup and that’s why I wouldn’t ever get milk donation at the end of the day you truly don’t know. I couldn’t make my own and I was called a s*** mom and lazy and how I should have at least gotten donation but you never know.

    • @salemthorup9536
      @salemthorup9536 5 лет назад +7

      @@dollsNcats, I personally think that somewhat vetted human milk is a better gamble than corn syrup formula, so I made homemade formula for my one kid that I couldn't get enough donor milk or make enough of my own. But fed is best. You fed your kid. No one should call you a bad mom. I'm sorry you were judged.

      Jewel Martin My Mother donated (to a San Francisco Calif Hospital) breastmilk in the 60's & for about 10 years. There also were NO "pumping machines, so it was HAND EXPRESSED. This was during the time that most babies were NOT breastfed at ALL !!!!!!! My Mother would have to sit in the "ladies toilets" (sometimes even on a toilet) as she was NOT able to breastfeed in restaurants or public.

    I lost 750 oz of breast milk I pumped in 3 months during hurricane Florence. The electricity was out for over a week and all the milk in the freezer got spoiled. I was devastated because I wanted to donate it and also to feed it to my little babies. I also produced so much, that my two kids could not drink all of the milk I was producing. I’m happy you are doing what you are doing. You are certainly blessed with the ability to produce to help those little babies in need.

    I think this is a beautiful thing she's doing and is able to do. Throughout history, wet nurses were commonly used when a mother's milk was in short supply and this is no different. And thanks to the internet, she's able to help SO many families who struggle to give proper nourishment to their little ones who wouldn't have known about this otherwise. 💞

    She is a real woman and a hero ! Breast milk 'supply' is'not a choice of the mother - Some have excess - quiet natural (no doctor blabla) - and through the ages women have helped each other to breastfeed their little ones. To much succes, I may add. Some women can breastfeed again practically always if necessary (look up the Invasion of Russia - grandmothers fed the babies after being 'dry' for years on end) and saved a population... No doctors involved - just our mammal nature. You warmth my heart !
