I am 73. I am a nobody. I have been doing this and teaching this for 20 years. I do not have an ache or pain one. I climb trees. crawl under houses. I can do a 6 foot standing broad jump. I have stories to tell. I feel as good as I did 40 years ago. I have not been sick in 40 years.

Dr. Ken Berry is absolutely correct about sharing. This is my story; five cardiac events over 18 years, two MI's, a triple bypass, four angioplasties, months in hospital, nine drugs a day, fat liver disease, Type II for the past five years. I could barely walk up the stairs in my house without angina. My wife found Keto for me in August 2018, I've lost 68 lbs and today I regularly walk 10 km per day, ride my bike for an hour, strength train for 30 minutes and am refinishing a canoe to go canoe camping this summer. Today I only take a baby aspirin as a prescribed drug. Keto changed my life and it's easy to do if you are committed to getting healthy. Change your life, keto works, my A1C went from 8.9 to 5.7 in three months and my BP is stable at 118/68. Keto On

This is a totally unsolicited endorsement of Dr. Berry. Even though I practice Slow, Dirty Keto, I nevertheless improved my bloodwork so profoundly that both my Primary Care AND Cardiologist were amazed! Both encouraged me to keep on doing what I was doing. My latest bloodwork showed that 59 of 60 data points kept me within the optimum range. Not to mention, I also lost 30 pounds without really trying. Thank you Doctor Berry!

@@haggiefatigue2971 I lost 36 lbs and reversed kidney failure when I completely cut out sugars, grains, processed foods. At first o did intermittent fasting 18:6, having bullet proof coffee foe breakfast, but after a few months, I easily segeayed into one meal a day because of being fat adapted. I'm mostly carnivore (meat, dairy and eggs), I will occasionally eat whole fat, plain yogurt, with some berries.

Ten years ago I needed replacement knees. I failed the BMI test for admission to hospital for surgery. I was given a diet sheet which was full of low fat, whole grain, low calorie nonsense. When I realised it wasn't working, I went to Dr. Atkins's book. The surgeon asked me how I had lost the required amount of fat in a short space of time. 'I just ate the right foods!' I told him! There are a few Doctors in the UK who understand the low carb message, but not many.

I would love to have a doctor especially one like dr.ken. My problem is I attract all the God complexes , I know what I'm talkin about, shut the hell up, sit down and listen, type doctors. And I'm done with it. My mother died at the hands of doctors. I've had friends die by what I call substandard care. And I finally tried to give another doctor another chance to change my opinion and they couldn't give me the time of day. They just wanted to hand me drugs and make me go away. So I went away. Tossed the drugs in the garbage and became my own health advocate. I reversed my diabetes with my diet, though I still struggle with my weight (no keto diet is ever perfect, we are all different) But I think I'm doing a lot better than some people I know that have hundreds of prescriptions in their medicine cabinet.

  • @pjj.5649
    @pjj.5649 5 лет назад +11

Dr. Berry is so right, telling the truth. YOU MUST EDUCATE YOURSELF AND LIVE BY THAT VERY EXAMPLE! You must learn and know your body, how it works, what harms and destroys it or brings optimal health. Yes, KETO DEFINITELY WORKS!!! I fixed myself by 40lbs. coming from 200 lbs. The pains in my knees are gone. Getting up from low surfaces, chairs, the floor, toilet, going up and down steps, etc. with ease and painlessly.
I would say the sadist thing I experienced when I decided to eat vegetarian as a lifestyle change some 40 years ago was I knew more than my doctor. I studied nutrition, my body, fasted and took excellent care of myself. When I went to the doctor, so proud of my health, I knew more than the doctor. Of course, he or she (with the exception of one) wasn't interested or was locked into their 'tool' prescription pad (and I was 26ish back then.) Now that I have stepped up my health and am KETO, I am so far ahead of the game. They still may not want to hear it, but the proof is in the KETO pudding!
The stealth to KETO is walking it. living it, eating it! Even your enemies will want to know how you look so healthy, lost weight, skin clean, high energy, clarity of thinking and so on. And you will graciously lead them to Dr. Berry, Dr. Berg, Dr. Bergman, Dr. Fung, Jimmy Moore, and so many KETO experts so they too can educate themselves.
All the best to everyone. Healthy, long life!!!!

Not on any cholesterol or blood pressure meds and cut my pain meds in half. Never felt better in my life. Clearer thinking, little pain and inflammation. What a wonderfully informative presentation!
I had no idea that President Washington was bled to death by his attending physicians. Eighty ounces equates to roughly two and a quarter litres: an eye-popping amount of blood for even a young, healthy individual!
These examples appear sensational, but that's because they are. Dr Berry's style has always been animated, engaging and humorous, but always, in the end, reasoned. He implores us to question our doctor's role in maintaining a healthy body and mind as we go through life, and does so without completely denigrating the medical profession.
As he points out, we do need to respect and listen to medical experts. However, even the most gifted are not capable of making an adequate diagnosis of an individual's current state of health on the basis of a 5 to 10 minute consultation. No wonder they instinctively reach for the prescription pad.
In many ways we, in the UK, are fortunate to have the NHS - medical care here has not, as yet, been completely monetised. Alas, the hiving off and creeping privatisation of the most lucrative branches of medical care, along with the disproportionate amount spent on prescriptions rather than prevention leaves this great institution treading water instead of making headway on the most insidious attacks on the quality of later - and increasingly early - life.
Probably, the most salient comment on the current state of medical practice came from another talk given by Dr Berry, where he compares a medical doctor with a vet, citing the first question posed by the vet when presented with sick animals: What have you been feeding them?
Keep up the good work Doctor!

In Canada, our “healthcare” is publicly funded. I have a medical doctor but if I want to investigate anything concerning how to optimize my health I have to see a Naturopath. This is totally out of pocket but at least you get true “healthcare” not “sickcare”.

Excellent presentation Dr. Berry. Been doing this for 10 months and have lost 4 1/2 inches off of my waste WITHOUT dieting! Great mental clarity and an easy lifestyle to stick with! I found out about it indirectly listening to a Professor (Jordon Peterson) discussing how his daughter healed herself and how he also healed many of his issues using a deduced method of eating that turned out to be very close to this and Paleo.

A far more recent example of standard of care being wrong:-
    Stomach ulcers.
I had one and was told by my doctor that I had to cut out all fatty food and avoid stress to cure it. I told him about an Australian doctor who had demonstrated that an antibiotic course could cure a stomach ulcer. I was told I didn't know what I was talking about. I followed the doctor's advice and my ulcer did NOT improve. I had a chest infection not long after which required antibiotics and my ulcer also went!
Standard of care for stomach ulcers is now a course of antibiotics as far as I know.

I listen to many docs who have seen the light. Only Ken & Dr Fung admit the years of damage they did to their patients before they caught up with the rest of us common folk.

My mother's doctor didn't care that I reversed her diabetes using paleo...he was neutral about it....he was ultimately responsible for missing her cancer diagnosis too late and she died 2 yeas later. This guy and the risk management at that hospital denied, denied when it was obvious...I hate those people because they're horrible and will pay one day. The so called doctor practices in Logan, Utah. I reported it to medicare and the licensing board.
I've learned from that experience that evil exists in people no matter who they are.

How I did it with my doctor is I was in the ER two years ago high blood pressure very high blood pressure high sugar high protein high calcium I was diabetic and she sees my numbers now and I tell her I am very very low carb/keto trying to get her to see that I do keto now and that is what has been bringing my numbers all into the normal range. To the point where she says keto is healthy and she does it nowadays too.

A useful question when a doctor says a certain drug is "X percent effective" is to ask this question. "Is that percentage relative risk or absolute risk?" Relative risk is the advertised risk. Absolute risk is the real risk. The math used to determine the difference is a bit convoluted for the average person. But just asking the question is revealing for the patient.

My paternal grandfather had diabetes, and died in 1948. Before he died he had both legs amputated. I was diagnosed with insulin resistance back in March. My a1c was 7.4. Now it's 5.5 after going low carb. I refused to listen to the "diabetes coach" assigned by the VA. I told her about doctors such as Jason Fung, and her first question was "well, is he an endocrinologist?" She kept calling me and I refused to talk to her. She was brainwashed into preaching the medical propaganda.

I am encouraging people to take small steps to change their way. So far, I have influenced several people to steer toward a keto diet. I have tried so many diets and perservered even though I was constantly hungry and angry about it. I pushed through only to give up frustrated in the end because no matter how hard I tried, I would start gaining weight after losing. Ugh!!!
