Taryl you would be proud of me. I rescued an old minibike that was half buried in the dirt amongst the weeds in an old man's back yard. Tires rotted away, engine seized and chain frozen in rust. It had an old iron engine off a Cushman scooter from the 1950's. I took it all apart, cleaned and painted it, and put it back together. It had a straight pipe and all original carb, rims, chain, etc. Took it out front on the street and it started first pull. It had a low deep rumble like a Harley. When I hit the throttle it let out a huge backfire and then shot forward as if out of a slingshot. That thing was dangerously fast. We dubbed it "Fat Boy." I wish I still had it today.

These mini bikes bring back some good memories,I was the kid that could not afford a Honda 50 or trail 70 I really wanted the Honda SL70 but that never happened back then, I own 5 now
Like you I wanted a mimi 50 Honda like the one a friend had that lived up the street from me but knowing we couldn't afford something like that I was willing to settle for a pull cord one! Begged my parents incessantly lol. First Christmas, it didn't happen, so I pretty much gave up but eveytime I would see a mini bike of any kind I believe they could see the want in me cause the next Christmas I woke up to find a Honda CT70 in the living room! Blowed my mind,never in my wildest dreams think id ever get a 70 honda! That was in 1971 and I was 11 years old, best Christas in my life! Thanks Mom! I know you made it happen, oh you and Jesus of course!🙏
@@DarrenFinley funny we are the same age I was born 1960 and by the late 60s early 70s these little bikes were everywhere. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of a Bridgestone Chibi but a friend of mine had one of those I think it was 70cc 2 stroke with a 3speed standard transmission,which was really cool. It was much quicker and faster than the CT 70 at that time.i still love these bikes my brother has a 3 auto clutch ct70 and a 4 speed clutch model which I had never heard of until he bought one probably about 20 years ago, but it’s an early 70s bike not sure of the exact year

in 73 I had one just like it. I was 14 living in N.E. Illinois. I got it for 8th grade graduation, my dad didn't understand real well when I was talking bout what I wanted, other kids was getting Honda`s, Kawasaki's and Yamaha`s 125`s and such, but the next summer I got a Ducati 250, my dad got it then,, lol

"THATS ONE BADASS MINI BIKE WEEEEOOOOOH!" Great job on it man. i've actually got one of these myself, that i picked up on the cheap a few years ago. Quite sadly, it came without the tecumseh still intact, but otherwise it was (mostly) all there,. i cleaned and oiled it up a bit, metal rescued inside and spray bombed the outside of the tank , dropped in a honda 6.5 hp ohv motor( with a lil baby mikuni carb and a custom header pipe i made) witch i mated to a belt drive torque converter/jackshaft . now, its nothing compared to that work of art you built, but it might give that ol" tecumseh a hell of a run for the money on the straight aways!! "WEEEEEEOOOOOH!" -Anyways, i'm really writing this to say thank you for the killer info! you see, I have every intent of doing a complete tear down/rebuild of my bike in the near future so i really appreciate that info on the rear shocks and swing arm bushings! i mean, part numbers and all, what a guy! I have to imagine swapping those worn out shocks and bushings with new ones would Another thing i want to thank you for is that amazing "tecumseh girl" ( Id like to give her A LITTLE OF THE OL' IN-OUT IN-OUT!)sticker you sell on ebay. I've been meaning to buy a few of those for over a year now and i might just have to get over there right now and get me some of that! Oh, by the way, i'm also going to attempt to supercharge my 'Yoco with an old GM smog pump off an 80's 350 sb chevy. i figure that should "sharpen it up and make it ready for a bit of THE OLD ULTRA-VIOLENCE!!!" viddy well, little brother...viddy well! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!!!!
the Toyoco warehouse was about 2 miles from where I grew up and a friend of mine had that same mini bike I think they were about $300 bucks back then they were designed by a business man from Japan

cool! I had a Bridge stone Rockford Chibi mini back in 1974 had rear motorcycle gears and clutch. Wish they made these today. Some minibkies had a two stroke with a belt CVT transmission.

nice little tecumish engine ; you do nice work taryl ; I like Tecumseh engines its to bad they got taken over ; Tecumseh was the best bang! for the buck! in my opinion best snow thrower engine and in the early days riding mower or garden tractor engine

Hey first I love your stuff. But I have a honda clone coil is good but not enough spark what is that little silver thing called is it a starter or a module or what and how can I trouble shoot it ???
+Tom Brittenham I do realize you might have got it fixed already, but if you mean "coil" as in "Magneto" make sure it is correctly gapped. Also check the spark plug to make sure its gapped correctly and there is good ground between the magneto and the spark plug.
