Australian non-Jewish, atheist male here, born 1952. I am firmly with Israel and the Jewish tribe on this. There are many more like me. In fact, I think the silent majority are with you. I have Jewish ex-colleagues and friends from my university days in Sydney as well as friends in Israel that I will be contacting to let them know of our solidarity.
Thank you for standing with the apartheid system as reported in by Amnesty International, President Jimmy carter, Human rights concern etc. Thank you for supporting the colonialism of someone else’s land. Thank you for standup with human rights abuses and for the imprisonment of children.
My understanding is people who created their country by eliminating the native population, or colonized other lands, stand with Israel.

The levant includes Multiple countries. .I did mine and found out that I’m from South Levantine Judah, then later on my DNA was found to closely match people who live in the Kingdom of Israel (northern kingdom). However, I’m not a Jew. I’m a Palestinian.

A main talk is how can I be Christian and support the awful that is going on. Immediately they see me as a war monger. I think of the hostages, what would I do for my loved ones in such a state. What would I do for anyone in a hostage situation. Especially how can I claim to be Christian and be ok with war, I’m not. I don’t think even Israelis are ok with their current situation, they must for their existence in such a rough area. I find verses of my religion to explain. Such as: Ecclesiastes 3:8 “A time of love and a time to hate, a time of war, and time of peace.”

I grew up in a town without Jews, yet I managed to teach myself to read Hebrew, study the religious practices, and pore over the history of the Jewish people to satisfy my Jewish soul. I was fortunate in the interests which drove me to learn. This was back in the '60s and '70s, before the age of Google. The information is out there and people who are eager to answer questions. Thanks for the video!

Not a faculty member anywhere, but have done exactly what you recommend - studying and learning the history of the Jews out of necessity. Im not jewish. My father is jewish and i did aliá to Israel 7 years ago.
I can tell you that living here made me understand Israel and its context deeper. I used to move in academic left wing environment when i lived in my originsl country.
After october 7th ive seen awful statements about the confl8ct, based on ignorance, hate, and false, incomplete, edited information from history.
I feel very sad for the antisemitic viral reaction all over the world. But ehat most makes me sad is to see jewish academics like Gabor Mate, who few dats after october seven made and statement saying that what Hamas dud was understandable considering Gaza was a concentration camp.
There are many jewish academics that have made the most anti semitic arguments, denying the right of Israel to exist. Norman Finkelstain is another example, and Ilan Pappé that choose and isolate quotes and passages of history, to make israelíes seem like monsters
I feel sonetimes very frustrated with ex collegues, and try to defend and argument, but their view us not based on arguments, but on emotional jewish, Israel hste, disguised as propalestinian cause.
But jewish people us strong and will survive as always did.

I remember the shock after October 7. As an Israeli living in the U.S., I’m lucky to be alive after getting off my bus just before it was bombed during the intifada by a 12-year-old terrorist.
My family is still in northern Israel, sheltering daily in their safe room.
Friends here keep asking how they can help. At first, I felt overwhelmed and powerless. I can’t even help my own family, and I can’t afford to let my PTSD resurface with them still in danger.
Then I realized the best way to help is by educating others. I gathered my friends and gave a neutral presentation, providing links and resources. And I keep doing so on regular basis.
Knowledge and truth are the keys to supporting Israel from afar.

My grandfather was a Palestinian British war veteran. He was one of the thousands of Palestinians who volunteered with the British ui fight the Nazis. Less than 4 years after ww2 ended, the people he stood for and drive him and his family out of their home. He was from west Jerusalem. All west Jerusalem was ethnically cleansed in 1948 and the population was replaced by Jews from around the world. Even my grandparents home was taken and given to a European Jew to live in. Almost all of Israel was created like this.

Had the Arabs accepted a Jewish state beside them, there would never have been a war in 48 at all and there would be a Palestinian state living beside Israel today. Also, many Arabs who fled Israel did so out of hope that the Arabs would drive the Jews into the sea and they would then be able to return to a Jew-free land. The Arabs who did not flee were not massacred. They are the ancestors of the 2 million Arabs who are the equal citizens of Israel today.

The silent majority is definitely with you. I'm not Jewish but my children were raised in the Jewish faith. I think one of the greatest challenges facing Jews today is identifying who their friends are--and identifying those who are not true friends but posing as such. It is frightful for people like me to witness the destructive nature of groups both within and without the Jewish community, such as the Jewish Voice for Peace and the machinations of corrupt American politicians.

I am a retired professor living as the only “out” Jewish person in a retirement community in the south. I am a secular Jew (from NYC, which is another issue) and my husband is not Jewish (but actually more secular than i am). Tonight was especially difficult for me. Neighbors , people i thought were friends, spent all evening asking me “how come Jews are so smart” and “why is there so much antisemitism lately because i don’t remember there being any when i grew up “(lol) and “what about Hamas.” And then i saw your video. I had been texting him RUclipss in support of Israel, explaining Israel's position and its obligation to defend its people. He told me to stop sending them. Two days ago he texted to say he was avoiding me because he believes Israel is guilty of genocide and basically wanted nothing to do with me because I was standing for Israel. He wanted me to apologize for supporting Israel's genocide. I am devastated.

Almost 4000 years.. Judaism originated with the biblical patriarch Abraham (approx 1800 BCE).... That will be about 3824 years..
I don’t know about historical evidence to the existence of Abraham but we do know factually about king David and Solomon through the historical evidence for the existence of Solomon’s grandchild king Rehavam who was cited in ancient Egyptian inscriptions during Pharaoh Shishak’s reign.

As a non-Jewish person, but as someone who strives to dig into the facts and nuance, I struggle to speak on this issue and often remain silent. After doing a fair amount of research, I see that Jewish people do in fact need a home of their own, and should have the right to ensure the safety of Israel. The humanity of Palestinians should absolutely be recognized and upheld, but we can do that without spreading anti-Israeli sentiments and historical inaccuracies.

Also, I think all people should be forced to see the films made by Hamas, ZAKA, the interview with the female head forensic examiner who broke down while being interviewed, the IDF entering the homes on Oct.7th, film of the identified UNRWA personnel taking part in the attack, the cars on the road, the real evidence of what happened that day, as I did. And it should be required watching in high schools and colleges, uncensored. People who protest on campus and elsewhere should know exactly who and what they defend.

BE CURIOUS, don’t just gobble up what the media feeds you, learn the history of both sides, trust me you’ll come out thinking you heard two histories from two peoples living on opposite sides of earth, from there that’s your job to solve the puzzle of what is evidenced, the chain of events and the understanding of the topic in full.

I'm a Soviet Jew. In most cases, our identity was enforced by the state and by the anti-semitic attitudes around us. Any knowledge of Jewish traditions or history was spotty at best, and in my family - non-existent. We had this confusing identity whether we liked it or not. When I came to the U.S. in the 1980s, I realized that there are plenty of Jews (or let's say, people of Jewish ancestry) in the U.S. who also knew little or nothing of Jewish history and traditions; but the big difference was, that their identity isn't in any way "official". No-one cares if someone has Jewish ancestry or not, unless they themselves care about it first. So there are plenty of people of Jewish ancestry here, and they don't care about it. Just like there are people of Irish, Italian or Polish ancestry and most of them don't care about it, they aren't interested in history, culture or politics of Ireland, Italy or Poland, etc.
Personally I became very interested in Jewish history and traditions over the years, but if someone isn't interested - I can't blame them. One can't be motivated to do things just because of the particularities of his ancestry.. He needs a certain amount of inherent interest and inspiration for that, and not everyone has it.
However when a person actively promotes anti-Israel ideas and says they feel a particular responsibility to do that because they're Jewish - here I have a very serious problem.

Courage isn't not being afraid. Courage is being afraid and doing what needs to be done anyway. We cannot avoid antisemitism, because it always finds us. But we can fight back with the truth. I have dealt with antisemitic death threats and had our home vandalized, all of which just made me stronger in my Jewish beliefs and more determined in the cause of Zionism. The I am Maltese, Roman Catholic, with a proud Sephardic Jewish ancestry. I think the best way to appreciate Jewish history by non-Jewish is by increasing accessibility to learn Hebrew online. All your colleagues: those close on your institution's faculty and administration and in other and wider faculties should pay attention to your words and introspect on them and then actualize that consideration in acceptable and legal ways. I am an atheist but morality, ethics and simple practical matters with recent historical evidence indicates where evil lies in this latest cruelty and who is responsible for the blood shed on all sides of the issues involved - the current Iranian leadership directly and via their proxy servants and near and wide dispersed supporters (many clearly ignorant or invested for their own selfish exploitive interests).

Even if you are not a religious Jew, it is time, if you are a Jew, to embrace your covenant with God which is to find, embrace and spread the light. You neglected to mention some other reasons why some are quiet. It seems to any reasonable onlooker that what the world is witnessing is not a war but a massacre. Most normal people who witness such atrocities are often speechless or vocal against it. Those that cheer it on are either team players who happen to be on the team that’s enacting the atrocities, or are misinformed by the team’s cheerleading squad. You talk about educating oneself, but it is clear you have not done your homework or stopped short of trying to grasp the significance of any material that contradicts your world views, which was cultivated since your childhood with one goal, and that is to ensure you will always be a good soldier fighting a good fight whether you use a weapon, a pen or a social media video. So go ahead and cheer for your team. That is something commendable. It is more commendable though that at some point in life, as a human being, one finds their humanity.
I used to defend Jewish people to the fault that my Egyptian schoolteacher called me Golda Meir. But now most of them here in Miami became Trump supporters. They are acting in a reactionary way and I am too. Sad! Fear and hatred won. Islam succeeded in making the world a worse place by making everybody right wing now even in Europe. I thought I left Islam and conservatism in the Middle East but here they are haunting me down even in sunny Miami.
