    Do you know what's worse than any angry Jordan - an Angry Bird!
    In this game game the Bulls had 3 players who scored in double digits out of 9 players who played
    The Celtics had 6 players who scored in double digits out of 9 players who played.
    In the end, it's a team game. Bird's Celtics were 6-0 against Jordan and the Bulls in the playoffs.
    In the 1961-1962 season Wilt Chamberlain averaged 50.4 points a game over the entire season but his team still lost 31 games.

    "So Bird was doing it before Dirk."
    Bird was doing it before there was a 3 point line. In fact one of the things Bird didn't like about the implementation of the 3 point line was he said nobody would practice shooting from farther than the line. But Bird - and a lot of other guys who had played without a 3 point line - did have range beyond where the line would later be drawn. I guess nowadays, with 3 pointers being so common, some guys likely practice from farther out as a way to make shots from on the line feel easier.

    That Bird lay-up at @04:46 was beautiful! He knew the defender (was that MJ? can't really read the number :P ) was coming in high, so he went to the scoop lay-in from down low.

  • @ToddandRaquiForrest

    Didn't have no one... he had plenty... he just hadn't learned to play unselfishly... something he actually NEVER learned. Bird learned at tiny Indiana State how to make scrubs go 33-0, and it wasn't by scoring ALL the points (although he could have.)

    • @MarcTheSparcTV

      That’s true… Jordan wasn’t perfect… he needed other players and a coach to start winning

    @felixmalcherek2919 2 года назад +8

    Check the difference: the Celtics's starters were all in double-digits, only 3 for the Bulls, and Oakley had 10.
    Also, Bird got the assist for the +4, while Jordan forced the tough shots.
    He needed Phil Jackson to teach him how to play in a team to win.
    (And Bird to retire? :P )

    • @Orphim
      @Orphim 2 года назад +2

      I mean, when Bird retired, Jordan thanked God that Bird was finally out of his way. Probably the nicest thing Jordan ever said about a competitor lol.

      @@Orphim Agreed.
      I guess you COULD argue that Bird's body was breaking down more and more and the Celtics were drifting away from the top, so, if he had retired later Jordan could've fixed that record.
      But that's a whole bunch of "what ifs" and we've seen '91 Bird still cooking Oakley and the Bulls.

    • @clay1108
      @clay1108 Год назад

      Not that he didn't share the ball, he didn't have any help in the defense. That Chicago Bulls team was 20s - 50s before Jordan.
      Pre NBA jordan, under Bob Knight, had a relatively high assist stat. For the finals game against Spain at halftime alone, Jordan played 12/20 mins and he had 19 pts 11 rebounds 9 assists. That same Olympics team won all 8 games vs NBA all stars (Bird, Parrish, McHale, I Thomas, Magic, Drexler etc), the US team had MJ Ewing Perkins and some other college students.
      IF MJ had help w/ the offense, w/ MJs mindset of doing anything he can to win, do you honestly believe he would hog the ball?
