Even better than the work of the project, which was interesting in itself, is the sense of community you all enjoy. It's rare - and so pleasing to observe.
This looks very cool. I hope you upload another part with the work you describe at the end. I'd be especially interested to see you extending the loft and putting the bed up there.
It does looks so nice , but I wish if the loft a bit taller so you could put the bed up there and add the sofa and kitchen downstairs, that would be cool, but great work ❤
Last year we had Peacock woodcraft in Temagami install a shed at our families cottage they are a distributor and I think they work through EZ on the West coast. I really liked how once it was up the interior walls are done. I am thinking of doing a she shed here in Georgia of the same Eastern Block type building. I really like your foundation, it looks great!
With how amazing the stone work and foundation is I feel you might have got a better cabin if you just built the rest like a little house (you obviously have the skills)
You’re not wrong. In this case I needed to get the guest cabin up fast, and was already dealing with another building project - a back room addition on our cabin. So I made a compromise, fully intending to add insulation and siding to the guest cabin later.
Build few of these in Finland, at Arctic Circle, same thickness, 40 mm, BUT...we put insulation strips between every layer, board in a wall???, without it this Cabin will not be warm, I guess you dont have Winter, cold weather in Canada????, just saying...;o)
If jumping to conclusions was a sport, you’d be national champion. Actually, we get very long, cold winters here. I’ll be adding foam board insulation to the outside of my cabin walls, followed by plywood, wrap, and cedar shingle siding. This was always the plan. 🙂
If you want a quick, reasonably high quality seasonal building then yes I would recommend it. Kit cost about $10,000 CAD. I put more money into it though for things like insulation, extra sheathing, poured concrete floor, etc. I believe EZ log structures offers larger buildings, but they might have to be custom designed when you beyond the 10x16’ size.

When operating a compactor a cigarette is a must.

I’m planning on it!
You said at one point 3 weeks, the title says 7 days. Those types of windows won't be water tight because of no caulk
Three weeks including foundation. 7 days for just the cabin. Roof overhang keeps windows safe.
@@cabininthewoods517 ok

@@phuongvo3051 The loft is actually tall enough for the bed, and I’m planning to put it up there. Just going to make it a bit wider first 🙂

Really nice! Would you consider installing a small wood burning stove inside?
Yes, I’ll probably do so at some point. Either that or an anthracite coal burning stove.

Would you recommend it now that you,ve completed your cabin? What was the cost and are there bigger sizes ?
