    Just curious how 4 wheeler tracks signify poaching? Can you speculate that people ride 4 wheelers to? Genuine question.

      I’m glad you genuinely are asking. It was on a closed road that only private property had access to. The pure fact of that activity in Colorado is ILLEGAL is enough for them to get tickets. Also if you watched a few seconds later I mention that I grid it and also came across their old boot tracks gridding the area. Now this is a very well known area for bulls to winter and drop. Also the fact that the particular locals in this specific area are very well know poachers by the CPW and are only a matter of time before being caught. There is a lot of Information to that I have and law enforcement has that very easily allows me to “speculate” that conclusion. Thank you for watching!

    You people that have to film shed videos for the world to see you are fueling shed fever. I've been shed hunting for over 45 years the good old days are gone and lost forever

      Y’all were also the ones chasing elk and deer on the winter range with snowmobiles and atvs!!! Now we have closures! So thank you first for ruining it! Also your age is the ones getting caught in Colorado shed poaching! So thanks again buddy!!

      Yeah shed hunting has completely blown up in popularity and I 100% blame social media and youtube. I'm in my thirties and 10-15 years ago I used to have shed hunting basically to myself, and now everywhere I go I run into people. Not complaining, it just is what it is.

      @@rodbelding9523 ya know, I hear this a lot. So much complaining for “old school” horn hunters. Been finding them for over 23 years. Idgaf!! How many ppl do it, long as they do it in accordance with state regulations. Ima find more than anyone else so idgaf how many ppl are out there.

    Ive never made a trip out west for shed hunting, but I would like to sometime but way too many people break the rules and way too many people look for them anymore. Also anyone anymore is tight lipped about where they go too. They should make it to where it is foot traffic only on the openers out west so us walkers don't have to combat idiots hauling ass in their trucks past us plus no horse riding either.

      I applaud those who own horses and use them. I’ve owned them almost my whole life. They are expensive and a lot of maintenance. So I can’t say this or that to anyone’s method of LEGALLY finding them, ya know? Nor would I. I’m a walker and I don’t mind the competition, just not when they was in there a few weeks before the openers. lol

    If there is only one way to access said area than how did you get in there? Criminal trespassing will land you a much larger ticket than the 100 fine for taking a shed which you have know way to prove they took anything unless you have camera traps everywhere like I do. Not a fan of them riding the 4 wheelers out there but that probably wont hold up in court either.

      The only way is to hike through public over the mountain like I did. The road they used is closed to ohv use. The fines for poaching antlers is much higher then you think. A 6 pt elk antler is considered a trophy and $10,000 fine. Plus jail and loss of hunting&fishing for a minimum of 5 years. I’m working very close with cpw in a unit this year and baiting sheds are gonna be used as well as trail cams.

      @@dto_outdoors Well good on you and know I don't think this I acceptable for people to be doing. Your also right on the Samson's law here in the state. I run Several large groups on FP and have 3 game wardens in 1 group alone that I'm aware of so people never know who's really watching them and I have seen tons of people post stuff in shed groups way ahead of time I'm surprised the CPW doesn't look threw those groups close, issue is their just so spread thin as it is they don't have time for that. I don't think people realize how fragile elk and deer are at that/this time of the year. you have hundreds of people crawling around out there scaring the elk the run a minimum of 1/2 mile many times they run miles it kills far more animals than people think it does and now with the wolves here in 5 to 10 years all the elk and deer herds will have much more than shed hunters to worry about.

    What elevation you horn hunting at?

    • @dto_outdoors
      @dto_outdoors  Год назад

      Anywhere between 6 and 10k. The mtn ranges and winter habitat very so much here in Colorado that’s the elevations I’ve found all mine at.

  • @macmanusproject8031

    This video makes me laugh. Poaching is the act of taking game and non game animals. Sheds aren't living. Next thing hell say is someone collecting firewood was poaching trees. Maybe the private land owner had a lost cow (cattle) happens all the time in Colorado and yes they can access their lease when looking for their property. Like any type of hunting there is always the possibility someone will beat you to a spot. If you only have one spot to look your not a great hunter. Did you ever think maybe someone accessed the trail in late season hunting? When a track is made in wet ground than freezes solid the track will remain until the thaw aka early may in Colorado.

      Your non knowledgeable comment is an even better laugh! It’s obvious you have zero knowledge of Colorado! Everything you just said absolutely wrong and moronic! Look up laws and ask the people who got busted this year what happened! Educate yourself before making yourself look really stupid! But thanks for watching 😂😂😂
