- I’m concerned that the masses of immigrants coming into this country without the proper resources will increase squatting and change the situation from criminals to people just trying to survive. At that point changing the law will be more difficult if not impossible. Now is the time to act on changing squatting to a criminal offense. Please sign my petition.

I came home one day and found a homeless man sleeping on my couch. I went outside called the police and they made him leave. I demanded they arrest him and threatened to file complaints on the officers if they didn’t. They arrested him took him to jail released him in the morning. Once in court the judge did absolutely nothing then blamed me for being upset due to the fact the man had a drug problem and nowhere to go. I complained about the damage done during the break in and the judge ignored me. This was 3 years ago in Baltimore

I live in Arizona this was about 14 yrs ago,but pretains to squatting. Lived in a nice neighborhood in Phoenix,this house was in forcloser cause people didn't pay .any way house was empty for about 4 months,noticed that there was a broken window,i looked you could see that people had been in the house. There's no electricity to house,they come to house at night cause this is a neighborhood with people next door. I would check the house cause it was just down the street from me. Then two big pit bulls where in the house. Everything took place at night so youd not know that someone moved in. I called the mortgage company that owned the house cause it was posted on house,told them thay had people that broke into the house and living there. Never home during day i looked into the house they destroyed the bedrooms with graffiti , bathrooms, destroyed the kitchen broke windows etc. Finally one pitbull got out and police where called. I think they eventually figured out what was going on but took a bit to get them out. They where from Mexico even had a baby. So you see they can take over an empty house but its another to get them out. Even though they are trespassing. C.M.
Had the same happen in CA everything including the metal garage door was recycled and gone. Watched children ride their bikes thru the man door in the garage and out the front door. No water, electricity or garbage. Fecal matter and needles everywhere. I called the number on the property and they said they couldn’t do a thing. I informed them I had video of the kids riding bikes thru the house and all I need to do is hear 1 cry and the parents will have a copy of the video. That home was secured in 24 hours and sold at action within 30 days. The poor new owners put in a sod lawn finished it at 8pm and by the next morning it was all gone.

@MattBaker-zd8nq - I see the same kind of situation & it’s really disgusting. MANY of them do not have actual drivers’ licenses, haven’t passed a drivers’ test, & do not have auto insurance. They are driving on our streets & highways, unable to read traffic signs & with no real training of how to drive. So when they’re involved in a traffic accident, we foot the bill for that too.

We need a Constitutional Amendment that stipulates that the rights and privileges delineated in the Constitution is reserved for citizens of the US (and legal residents, with some exceptions) only! Also, a baby born in the US, in order to be a US citizen, shall require that its mother or biological father to be a US Citizen.

Here in Michigan in the northern part of the lower "mitten" lower peninsula, we have a lot of expensive vacation homes that are only used maybe for two weeks out of the year by the owners. This is based on what we were told while on vacation up there. In the summer "squatters" will live in a camper at different primitive state parks, then they will move into one of these expensive homes for the winter. They may be allowed in by the owner, or they may break in. They trash the home and leave a mess behind for the owner to deal with.
Imagine going on vacation and come back and someone is living in your home……

@@FlashShelton Thank you Flash for spreading this information, and making us all aware of what's truly going on. I had no idea it was this big of an issue. I think the more people are aware the better we all can help prevent this from spreading so easily.
We certainly need more neighbors eyes on this. Form neighborhood watch groups. Tell your trusted neighbor when you are leaving and coming back. Have a friend stop by the house at least once a day. Leave a car in the driveway, and have a friend move it everyday. Keep certain lights on timers. Get a security service inside and out, have a service where if there is a breech, a company is monitoring 24/day and calling the police.
By having neighbors watch, and friends, and even some police departments you can notify them if you will away for an extended time are all proof you can use to document if and when a squatter moves in.
We already tell our immediate neighbors we are going on vacation. Most already have the ring and many have another above their garage, so any motion in front of their driveway sends an alert to their phones.
Don't get the wrong impressions, we live in safe quiet neighborhood and town, but we as everyone else due have issues with crime. Crime creeps in, you have to stop it in it's track.
We had two squatters in tents in our neighborhood park, and oh boy they were gone as soon as someone called the police. Neighborhood parks are private property of the neighborhood/HOA association. The HOA send out letter, the whole subdivision was notified, to beware and call the police, The police department even put up a temporary security cameras in the small park .It's up to all of us neighbors, to get involved and working together for everyone's benefit, to preserve our way of life and the safety of our children.
When the swarms of migrants started coming, almost all of the ones interviewed said that they had been told that they would be given a choice of jobs(because Americans didn't want to work), that they'd get benefits & a free house.
