      I wanna get a vicis helmet but as a linebacker/fullback idk if that would be a good idea
      I don’t think I’ve seen other positions wear one beside qbs and wrs

      My favourite football gear for 2024
      Man, I actually still rock the Riddell Speed helmet, changed the facemask to single bars as I’m playing WR and occasionally Nickel Corner, our team currently is in a rebuilding phase. So trying to do whatever I can to help.
      As for gear
      My favourite
      Helmet: Riddell Speed
      Shoulder pads: X Tech
      Gloves: Nike Superbad
      Cleats: Nike Alphas mids
      Personally I do like wearing the padded compression shirts since I tend to wear small pads and try to go minimal in pads/gear to be as lightweight as possible.
      Make some plays bro!!!

      @@Reyes5.56od_g I am not that knowledgeable about the Vicis but I have a teammate who is an O-Liner and he wears the Vicis, also I know George Kittle and Bosa for the San Francisco 49ers wear the Vicis. I've also saw some NFL Linebackers with it. SO, I believe you should be fine! Go for it

      @@Cmurciaii always go with the single bar facemask! More vision and the helmet is actually lighter.
      And smart man with the Super Bad Gloves! My favorite gloves as well. I just bought some. And the Alphas plate is fire on the cleats!
      🔥

      @@dariusrobinson yes sir!!!! Especially putting a visor on single bars facemask a dope combo!
      Anything to be lightweight as possible for me is ideal!
      Not the biggest or fastest guy out there. I’m about 5’9 already undersized with some limitations as wr/db so anything to keep minimal in weight and maximise my visibility is a must
      Love the superbads
      Normally for practice I’ll wear like Cutters gloves and save my good gloves for game days
      Unless it’s brand new gloves I’ll use them for some practices and break in. Other than that superbads for game days

    Yes sir!!!! The review we’ve been waiting for!
    Solid review!
    I personally have the same shoulder pads, got them maybe about month ago. Can’t wait to break them in and use properly once our season begins again.
    I’m amazed how small the padding is, how small it looks and feels yet so comfy.
    Prior to buying XTech,
    I’ve worn numerous pairs of shoulder pads throughout the years.
    The last couple of years I’ve been wearing the Riddell Spk pads and o felt like they’ve been awesome,
    But XTech is light years ahead

    Hey Darius, thanks a lot for your reviews. Do you prefer the X-tech or the 2in1 shoulder pads? My son plays cornerback and I bought him the 2in1 carbon shoulder pads because that's what he wanted. I am still considering buying him the X-tech shoulder pads. Which shoulders pads do you think are better.

    • @dariusrobinson
      @dariusrobinson  3 месяца назад +3

      What’s going on boss! I like to be fair in my response because of course it’s subjective from my experience but I would say the better investment is the X-Tech overall. Obviously the 2in1 are like no other. It’s light and it feels like you have no pads on. I will say with the 2in1 the thing is when your son has helmet only practice the 2in1 vest can be worn to protect him more. When we go helmet only (I play in Europe) I always wear my 2in1 vest under and it’s great!
      But I’ve actually cracked my (carbon shell $700 version) before on my 2in1 pads - luckily they sent me a second pair free of charge. But I no longer wear my 2in1 pads in competition.
      Although when I first got them I enjoyed the feeling of not feeling like I had on pads. I was often concerned about my safety on high level impact. If you have the Poly version I’ll definitely prefer the X-Tech over those; the Carbon material is more comparable to the X-Tech.
      The X-Tech I believe are more durable & will last much longer. Also during hot days the vest of 2in1 is way more hotter and in so can cause dehydration faster. This is just my honest opinion I wore the 2in1 in competition from 2021-2022 (2 seasons)
      I’ve definitely felt better since transitioning back to a more traditional pad!
      Hope that helps! 💯

      @@dariusrobinson What's up man. Thanks so much for your response! I really appreciate it. My son has played the last few years in the Xenith Flyte shoulder pads and they were cool. I let him choose between the 2in1 shoulder pads and Xtech since he's going to the 10th grade and he chose the 2in1's. I am just going to buy the Xtech shoulder pads as well since i trust that they will protect him more. I am just trying to decide between the skill and super skill. Thanks again man. Good luck over there this season!

    Which pads are better for an college athlete who is 5’9, 185 playing safety? The Skill or the Standard Xtech Pads. I am also recovering from a torn labrum. I want to get the super skill x tech pads but I want to be certain I am protected

    • @dariusrobinson
      @dariusrobinson  3 месяца назад +2

      I tore my labrum as well in 2014! Man I know the feeling. I would say this...
      It depends on your game. If you are more of a banger and really put your shoulders into every play go standard. If you are more of a fundamental player secure and solid tackler, and understand when to take the shots. The skill will be fine. The skill are durable not flimsy like other pads. I have noticed more finesse guys go with the skill so maybe standard is for you. Size medium in both.
      I also recommend the padded under shirt to give your mind the extra belief in the security. After coming off an injury (if it's not too early, because you have to give your body proper time recover) it's a mental thing just as much as it is physical.
      So give your brain that extra stimulation knowing you got some extra padding up there at least until you get back intro the groove of things! Hope that helps! 💯

    would you recommend these are the 2 and 1 for an 11 year old QB? Also the 2 and 1 Poly didn't seem to have the same flexibility as the Poly?

    • @dariusrobinson
      @dariusrobinson  27 дней назад

      These shoulder pads are actually perfect for an 11 year old QB. I honestly believe that the more stronger and powerful the athlete becomes they should wear more universal shoulder pads. Like I wouldn't recommend these to a NFL Linebacker but a high school receiver these are perfect. I think these are more suited for offensive players in my opinion. And The 2in1 Carbon are the best and those are much more comfortable than the 2in1 Poly. I always recommend if someone goes for the 2in1 - to go with the Carbon Material.

    Do you recommend Xtech shoulder pads or the 2 in 1 pads for a db

    • @dariusrobinson
      @dariusrobinson  Месяц назад

      X Tech Shoulder Pads for any defender more comfortable when you hit and safer gives your shoulder protection the 2 in 1 although slick don’t give you the same hit

    • @dariusrobinson
      @dariusrobinson  2 месяца назад +2

      It’s not about height it’s about shoulder width and chest size really. I am not sure how the XS are but if they cover your chest and sternum by coming down low enough and they protect your shoulders I guess they are ok. I prefer a 17-18 or even 18-19 in pads.

    Sheesh $600 I think I rather go with the 2in1 shoulder pads instead

    • @dariusrobinson
      @dariusrobinson  3 месяца назад

      the 2in1 carbon pads are $700. But they do have the cheaper version the Poly ones that people go for when they can't get the Carbon, so maybe that's an option for you. I don't personally like the Poly ones but that's just my preference I know others that wear them. I just personally would never wear them.
