Personally I’m a very picky person when it comes to shoulder pads, I do tend to wear the smallest possible pads I can wear Always a trade off, don’t wanna be running around feeling bulky, willing to sacrifice some sort of protection. Great video. Could You compare these to XTECH Pads? Looking to get a pair for my son but just got put on these 2in1 pads so not sure. I have heard nothing but great things on XTECH pads. Interested in your thoughts. He is a WR.
The X-Tech have a bigger test pool considering the NFL players prefer those over the 2in1. I would say initially that the 2in1 gives you way more mobility and you feel completely free. As a receiver that can come in handy. The X-Tech are way lighter than the traditional pads but still give your brain the comfort of traditional like pads. They also look a little better in the uniform in my opinion. The 2in1 have an extended vest that comes down over the ribs that give you a different look. However, will protect your son more going across the middle and with contact to the mid section - more so than the X-Tech. I will however do an extensive comparison of the two pads! For a WR! I don’t think you can go wrong with either though. But I don’t recommend 2in1 for guys who are seeking to bang every snap. X-Tech are a good choice though, they are less expensive and of course NFL player endorsed. I’ll get that comparison video up when I can! Appreciate you checking me out ✊🏾💯

@@ramirez35er I personally am a DB. Primarily a corner but the last couple years I’ve been primarily Safety. I myself at this point in my career am not a big hitter and I can be honest and say they are not made for that. I switched back to traditional pads and just felt more comfortable with them. A finesse CB can maybe get away with them but the functionality and the protection is just not there in the shoulder / clavicle area. Also, our team had a partnership with these pads and every starting linebacker took them off and switched back to normal pads. I’m not personally a linebacker. But I’m sure that’s a vindication on their experience and our team was provided these pads for free, still they switched back.
@@dariusrobinson I wanted to get these for my son who’s in 8th grade and he plays multiple positions. Quarterback, Running back, Linebacker, Safety, Punter and kicker. He has Xenith Youth Velocity 2 Shoulder Pads right now but the chest part are almost ripped so I want to try and find the best pads there are out there and that’s when I heard of 2 in 1 pads. His football season just ended today so I want to get him some for his high school seasons

I’m just saying the shoulder and clavicle / neck area don’t have much support - it’s literally a thin vest under a thin carbon shell. It’s light and of course has mobility. I’ve definitely given a thorough review of these pads and gave you my personal opinion. There are players that are ok with them. So for now it’s up to you and your son. With the Carbon pads being 600 USD that’s definitely your choice at this point to make a sound judgement. Can always order from a place where you can return them if you don’t like them just be aware of their return policy.
Love the honest review! These shoulder pads are “are 100% marketing” if you look at their website, they expect you to buy $800 pads and they provide you zero too little information about the product. All of their marketing claims of impact reduction % are based on outdated studies and data well over a decade old. The floopy .25 inch thick carbon fiber shell is trash. It provides little to no impact reduction or protection, the vest is doing all the work. The vest in fact would be a great addition to a nice set of Riddell or X-Texh pads to reduce impact. This review could not be more honest as well. There’s a reason Jalen Ramsey got rid of these pads and other pros don’t wear them. They don’t provide any real protection.
Appreciate this! I am all about safety, someone who has had shoulder surgery. It's important to give people the pro's and con's but from neutral point. Just keeping it real! 💯
Those are the Russell Athletic Carbontek pads that Russell sold the rights to. I have been a Douglas fan since high school in 1992. I wore Douglas from 1992-1999
@@dariusrobinsonI played DB for 3 years at UCF with Douglas CP-25’s with removable epaulet pads and you could remove the entire shell to wash the pads or clean the shell. Douglas took Easton “Byron Donzis” technology and made it perfect! Easton “Donzis” shoulder pads were the best in the industry back in the late 1980’s till about 1991 when Douglas took over. Riddell Power and XTech aren’t bad, but Douglas is the best! Schutt took over all of Bike/Air from the 80’s and early 90’s. Schutt has some good helmet technology, but they bought BIKE out.

The poly pads are half the price of the carbon because of the material they are made out of. A lesser material - so I don’t believe they gave more protection than the carbon system

They have a US REP location based in Atlanta and another in Europe. I am in Europe received mines in 5 days or so. I am sure it would be somewhere around three-five business days. Just check the shipping section from wherever you purchase them from. There are some re-sellers as well.

I admit they are super light & feel like you don’t have shoulder pads on. So I guess that alone is unconventional & creates a demand... I think I could vouch more for them if the Carbon version was around 500 instead of 700 & the Poly version at 300. After having them for a couple years I could value them for that tag.
