The value of actual performance metrics in active buildings

In this webinar we discussed how the actual energy performance of buildings can be quantified, giving clear insights on the building's contribution to the energy system.
smartEn members presented their demonstration trials in different types of buildings to measure the actual flexibility and carbon performance, based on three metrics:
kgCO2/time/m²
Max kW of shiftable capacity at different times of the day per season
kWh of activated volume of energy per season
Both the International Energy Agency and the European Commission intervened to discuss the role of buildings' flexibility and their system integration thanks to real-time data.
With the presentation of our demonstration trials report, smartEn aims to inspire the ongoing negotiations of the ‘Fit for 55’ package, in particular the revision of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
