7:49 - Looks like Mat got this one wrong guys. Unfortunately you aren't able to get the Arona in four-wheel drive!
carwow sound is very low!!!
What's the point of the huge transmission tunnel in the back seats then? Stupid.
How has SEAT engineers made such a "simple" mistake??? I have seen other crossover SUVs which are only front wheel drive with no transmission hump in the floor...
Transmission tunnel is either for other markets where AWD is available, or other related car models that share structural parts that do have a drive shaft going to the rear (i.e. manufacturer cost savings by using common parts for several vehicles), or simply that a possibility for adding AWD to the line up is considered more important than a flat floor.
That makes sense. Thank you for a sensible answer.
Had a 1.0 115bhp one as a hire car in Spain for the last week, done about 1,000 miles in it. Must admit I’m very impressed indeed. Pretty comfy, ergonomically spot on, can get two suitcases in the boot with room to spare, surprisingly quick, getting over 50mpg, handles really well and it’s enjoyable. Difficult to see how it could be any better really - I’d like to try the 1.5 version.
3:27 how Matt tries to open the boot VW style :D
Lol
Other SEATs also open the way he tried.
Actually, it was the Seat Leon the first car to use that solution to unlock the boot
New vws don't open like that anymore either
Dilafrose Unfortunately 😐
this guy is hilarious, makes the review a lot easier to watch. He understands the right tone of voice to use on a 10min video where other reviewers drone on and on with a script they dont follow lol
I've waited for this video for like a month, finally it's here!
Superb review!Best ever! You didn't have a lot to say about the car so you made a nice intro and a funny followtrough... congrats!
I really dig the headlamps, especially the daytime light looks sharp & upscale i also love the rims design
Love you're videos keep doing it
Got one rental at moment. Your right about the whistle from mirrors and bloody road noise is so bad I taught boot was open. Other than that it's fast and handles like a dream. The gear change is perfection.
For you Matt between the Arona and the Kia Stonic and the 2008 top gasoline which one would you chose?
Your reviews are so entertaining to watch
Hey mate. Awesome review. Can you please also review the new Tucson facelift 2019?
Nice review like always! For when a review to the Crossland X?
really like your music choices:)
Do a review off the Suzuki S-cross
I would like to hear what you Think off it
Is it only I noticed? Why is engine start button on the opposite side from a driver?
Why you didnt do the centre console test like you did in the stonic?
I love my Arona 🚗
Mine is desire red with a grey roof - technology se automatic
It drives well is spacious and I get around 52 mpg at the min I expect more once it’s run in - I’ve only done 600 miles. Highly recommend this car - it has lots of extras you’d normally have to pay for... very happy with my new 🚘 beats my Citroen cactus hands down!!
N

Hi Karen I am looking at Arona and the Suzuki Vitara at the moment ... question , how do you find the Turbo? What fuel do you use ?
I have the Arona in the same colours! Fr version with the 1.5 tsi 150hp and veeeery happy with it, fast enough when needed, fun (considering the small suv segment maybe the best on this side), great mpg and very useful! 2 years, 26k km and all perfeeect
@@HectorMartinez-nf9vf1.5tsi version is so fun & fast, the 1.6 tdi and 1.0 tsi are boring
What other cars should I consider similar to this car? Should have a decent boot size, spacious and reliable?
5:02 hahaha all the more reason i love Matt's reviews
Matt, please can you test Ateca vs Karoq. With diesel engines 4d Thanks
Now for this price 14548£ you will get 3 years old Arona(((
The strip on the dash breaks the big slab of plastic. I like the physical knobs. Smart looking car.
Hired a 2021 SEAT Arona FR automatic after a day I had to check and was surprised it was a 1.0
Moves really quick. Response is pretty quick. You can easy say as a driver it drives like a sports car. I have to say it does NOT look as fast as it drives. But driving this car you'd be confident enough to drive beside any German cars. But speeding in corners I noticed it isn't much stuck on the road as it does slide a tiny bit
Nice color for this model, As always Excellent review 👍👍👍👌😊😍
I mean it ally boils down to which of fetch Skoda/SEAT/VW variants suits your budget and lifestyle. Even the interiors are now looking the same. It almost doesn't matter which one you go for.
any chance you test lada vesta sw cross?
how does the keyless entry work sorry never had that
Thanks to CarWow - I've just bought a Xcellence Lux 115 psi DSG via the app. The process was so easy, I received 5 replies and bought from Seat Bury St Edmunds. Alison and Aaron were fantastic, great knowledge, great customer service and a great price, I did a PCP lease over 48 months have to wait until end of June to collect due to covid19. The best bit has to be the CarWow app, if you are looking for a car use it, its so simple to use. Thanks Matt.....
Love your vids
I never understood how some cars could already be claimed as 2019 cars when we're 6 months from there...
Usually the model year refers to the first year the car is in production from January to December
Well it's already in production so.. Weird
Or it's a way companies use to make themselves look ahead of the time
it's an american thing, not really used anymore in europe since cars are no longer always introduced in october at a motorshow.
In this specific case it's just to distinguish reviews of older models, he doesn't say 2019 once in the video and it's not written m.y. 2019 either.
I work for one of these manufacturers and most of the time the model year will have a different software to comply with different emission standards. It will also have some bug fixes found in voice of customer fleets as well.
My take is that it's a marketing thing. If possible, dealers would start selling "2022 models" from January 2nd, 2021.
If you go to brand A's dealership and have the 2020 option, then go to brand B's dealership and have a comparable 2021 option (this comment is posted in Oct 2020), you would feel that you are getting a newer vehicle.
After 3 years, with help of this video, I finally understand the trunk 😭😭😭
Would love to see you do a video on the MG HS and MG ZS
Best part of this video is at 5:02! LMAO! Dude you are the definitely the best and most exciting car reviewer I have ever come across. There are facts, fun and laughter in each of your reviews, it just keeps everyone engaged. lol
Another beautifull car from Seat! I just got Leon in same collor, really great.
Nice
love moschino sweater, cool
Matt pls give a review on BMW 6GT 2019 model
Arona DSG lux ordered w8 2018 delivery is to be w46. I was originally told 12 week wait so cancelled and now have a BMW :)
Cant decide either the 1.0 ecotsi 115 or the 1.6 diesel... i mainly drive local (20-40mph) but sometimes i carry passengers (full car) and then once a month may do the odd motorway drive (leeds to manchester) not sure how the 1.0 ecotsi will cope with the weight and distance or should i get the 1.6 diesel
Kamran Afzal trial run.
Took one for a drive. It was excellence Lux spec (far better than the spec you tested) . It's is a very nice car, bar one issue, the engine, I drove the 1L 3cyl, it was fine around town, and ok (at best) on the motorway. My biggest issue was Mpg, for a car with no guts, or fun, I want better than 34mpg. (the trip was showing that over 2k miles).
You need the one with the leather dash and door cards, plus the half leather alcantara seats. Then you have a nice package, minus the engine.
Apparently they are getting the 1.5petrol that is in the Octavia (150bhp), that should make this car a winner in its class.
Stephen Butler he's driving an Xcellence, there's not so much difference between the two.
Samuel Brooks that was an strange Excellence model. As the stock excellence has a leather dash. This has been 'up graded' with silver!
If you go in a store, you'll see what I mean. I took a couple o ;a test drive. There is a huge difference in 'feel' between them all. Though that's exacly how seat are marketing this. Avoid the entry edition, that is bad.
Had the FR as a company car for just over a week now. Wasn't particularly looking for something sporty, but it's the only trim (along with the FR Sport) that comes with the 1.5 engine that we wanted. And I really like it; yes, in terms of trim quality it does suffer in comparison to the Audi A3 Sport it replaced, but it's really nice to drive (ride isn't too hard), and has a good selection of bells and whistles that I didn't have in the A3. Cheep and cheerful :)
I just got this car and honestly I am in love with it, I got it in the xcellence lux spec with the 115 petrol engine, it feels plenty powerful for my liking. Couldn't be happier.
Mat if you still have that old HTC get the new HTC 12 plus it looks pretty good
Thought it was a new video from carwow until I see the date of it
Awesome video
I have Leon Cupra in this color, it looks dope.
Compare Arona vs Ibiza back to back?
Waiting for the review of Opel Crossland X
Any body can you tell new seat arona diesel car price please
Can you please make a video about the bmw x6 and x6m
8:11 DO MORE OF THAT ZOOM TRANSITION PLZ....
I’ve been looking at this as an everyday car, comparing it to the cx3 and maybe even a Tucson.
please do arona vs t-cross vs 2008 2020
The review is a wee bit harsh considering the price-point. One of the better looking crossover cars IMO. The MIL loves hers.
Hi Mat, what is your daily driver
Very useful channel 👏👏👌
Great review of the Arona but on the ISOFIX I disagree. Yes they are buried more in the seat than other cars, but even so it took me less than a minute to hook my ISOFIX base in - so not really an issue.
is it still winter in the uk? :D
At 2:33 why does he always cover top of the iPad with this thumb for?? I realised he done it on a few other reviews. Carwow I want to know why.
Any FR with DSG likely? If not, I'm out.
Adjustable floor, that’s cool 👌
Cant believe you ate that bit of croissant!
Woohoo, about time you guys posted this, I follow you on insta and it was filmed months ago😭 keep up the great work
The question is, was it worth the wait...
The engine start/stop button is in a daft location, would have been better to move it to nearer the dash.
It’s in a great location if you don’t drive on the left side of the road :P most of the world doesn’t so I guess they went with the most common setup.
Love the Arona, nearly bought one but actually got a better deal on an Ateca
My Father has just got the xcellence lux 1.0 wanted something smaller than a 1.8 FR Leon said its a great little car more gagets than his 17 plate Leon said its a bit noisy but thats about it
the 115 horsepower version is the best combination of equipment, price and comfort in its range
Matt, you looked like you were secretly enjoying yourself at 4:28. ; )
I like how the climate controls like a little bit like a cassette deck.
Nice reviews keep it up 😎😎😎
Would love to see your reaction to the tesla plaid delivery event
What's the brand on that shirt?
Mat when is the Rolls Royce Cullinan review coming.😍😍😍
Simple yet powerful little machine. Get a fully spec'd model guys, over time you'l thank yourself for doing so..the odd option here n there matters..
If we were to get that car Stateside, it would go straight to the rental fleets.
Do the new duster please Matt
Cool Design
Im going to get one .!!
Isn't it the 2018 version?
So I recently got the Arona, FR, automatic in the deep red with the black roof/mirrors and I must say I really prefer the trim on the FR to the excellence. There's more interior leather and soft touch areas and even ambient LED lighting. The dual turbos on the FR also make it a nippy car (my last was a 1.6 diesel focus and the performance is almost identical, 0-60 is supposed 10 seconds but I clocked one run at 8) you'll never struggle to merge in traffic, and can easily beat a lot of cars at the lights and, dare I say, it even feels a bit sporty (though obviously, this isn't meant to be a fast car). In my view, other than a few bits of extra tech, there's no real reason to go above the FR model if you're considering buying (I mean no offense to anyone who has the excellence model - you still have a cracking car!). I think its literally a case of you get front parking sensors? Maybe even a rear camera? But it really isn't worth the extra cost (again in my opinion). When looking at the version Matt is driving, it has that weird fake chrome interior all over the dash, FR has a stitched leather - just a more elegant/stylish model (in my opinion). I definitely recommend the car if you're looking to buy, and being VW/Audi group means that the engine is reliable and it (should) retain a good price down the line.
Hi can I ask what year is your car?
Looking at getting 18/19 plate petrol
@@testtubeaccident7805 2018 - love it
I’m getting Steve Coogan vibes from this chap. He’s an Alan Partridge fan for sure.
7:54 - *WRONG!* You can’t get ANY version of Arona with four wheel drive. They are all front wheel drive only, even the range topping model.
Josh Bacon Wait, isn't this an SUV?
Alex Novolan no, a crossover. A mini crossover at that.
Its a Crossover... Its a Mini car that got lifted... As mat say, its based on the Seat Ibiza...
a fake crossover that is
Stephen Butler absolutely fucking pointless
Hi Matt, Could you please do an aeb (autonymous emergency brake) review? All these makers trying to mess up the feature naming and capable speed limits, very confusing. Thanks in advance, you rock Matt!
seat arona fr vs skoda kamiq monte carlo 2024?
Yay, old "5 things" music is back. Wasn't the same without it
somebody noticed when he said "to the frront of the car" 4:04
The front seat backs look so thin. I can't imagine they would be comfortable.
carwow: "you should get the SE to get mobile wireless charge and 8 inch screen"
me with a wireless charge compatible phone and driving this car for 1 year: "never used both.... "
Matt why aren’t you a fan of 3cyl’s, you always complain that they make a noise but it’s a nice noise, personally I find 3 cyl’s put a smile on my face and they like to be revved...
Ohhh, Mat listens to Audioslave? One of my favorite bands
3:18 missed the rear armrest
Hold on, i thought arona is a cute AI in blue archive
Volvo V60 soon? the test drive in Barcelona was ages ago....
2017 Carwow Is Back
Has he ever done a review where says avoid? I've been following the chanel for a year and have not seen one yet?
Ty Quddus Go and watch his Ford mondeo vignale review..you will find your answer..
Samiul Hasnath thanks, will check it out!

4:28
Hmmmmmm, very very very very very interesting, indeeeeeeed.
Yes, very interesting. When he was finished, first thing he did was find something to eat. ROFL
Can I buy a car in Greece from a car wow offer??
Or the offers are for uk only dealers??
Matt why are you so cold? 32 degrees here...
I'm clicking like just for eating that foam
its amazing.!
Matt.... the X on the C pillar stands for crossover.. not Xcellence
