Prise_500 it puts a lot of stress on the engine as it has to work a lot harder to get the performance. More stress means more wear. More wear means the less time it’ll take to give up.
@@Ben_Mayall doesnt that go for any engine ? aren't people who boost their engines make sure everything else is modified so that doesnt happen ? I dont understand how boosting a small engine is a bad thing unless you're trying to get like 600HP out of it with addons
Prise_500 bigger engines aren’t affected as much as smaller engines when boosted. And some engines, like a boxer engine are built to stand huge turbos. But on small engines, they don’t produce enough waste gases in the first place to really benefit from one. All it does is force more fuel and oxygen back into the combustion chamber. Which is what causes it to wear out faster. It has a slight increase in power and torque, but effects fuel economy and increases the wear.
I'm kinda glad someone is finally mentioning the all-but-outmoded in-built satnav. In 2016 I worked as a car salesperson and even then, I heard talk about manufacturers doing away with satnav because everyone just puts the address into their phone. We were told to use that to dismiss customers' concerns that the car they wanted didn't have it. I kiiiiinda find it funny when I see an ad for a used car on FB or at a dealership with "NAVIGATION!!!"stuck on the windscreen 'cause like... Everyone has a smartphone nowadays. That's not to say there aren't distinct advantages, such as being able to use your phone while the car's satnav is still displaying.
I was surprised how much I like the Juke. Definitely some things that Nissan can improve on (a few engine choices, the minor issue like tie downs in the cargo area and dual USB in the rear seat. Otherwise it's a nice little SUV at a reasonable price that would make a decent little commuter and about-town vehicle that would also be comfortable on longer trips. Thumbs up on this one!

Had one as a rental manual loaded tekna digi t something or other. Loaded and looked good on the 19s. As a second car itd be ideal. Preferred it to the new shape rental c4 id had a few weeks prior. Door tops annoy me being hard but the rest of the interior is acceptable. Its not the last word in body control rear seat passengers said it was bouncy. Performace is ok around town rag it joining a slip road to maintain pace with average diesels and the economy drops as youd expect.
Great video! Two remarks: Let's not forget this is a SMALL SUV. It's to be expected to be a little cramped on the rear seats - most of the time children will sit there, so that's ok, and this is supposed to be a small car, so you can better get around in cities and such. Also, I never understood why everybody wants big windows back there. Building it like you see on the Juke is so much safer in case of an accident. Windows simply are the very weak spot in every structure. You can litterally see the arms of the children falling out of the windows on some VW crash tests. I wouldn't want that to happen with my children. Also: Pro Pilot is actually much more than your typical lane assist and ACC. It's much more like the Tesla Autopilot. It will practically drive on its own on the motorway and on a lot of highways as well. It's far superior to a lot of systems you'll get even in the upper mid class. Great stuff - and in this class this is quite extraordinary. Also worth mentioning, full LED headlamps from the base model up. I'd happily take those over alluminum wheels, since this is what counts. Plus those "design wheels" are pretty much standard on any entry level trim. They don't look like steel rims at all.
@Kitsune Ken That's the problem I have with Nissan products today. With so many Renault parts they are fake Japanese cars, so I have a proper Japanese car from one of their rivals.
The old Juke was unique and polarizing. Either you hate it or love it. It was DEFINITELY a head turner for good and sometimes bad. Some people like to go against conformity and others just conform and hate things they find weird. This new juke design is awesome but nothing could guarantee head turns like the old one.
Love the new Juke, saw a mid spec today in Auckland, the Nissan rep tried to throw the keys at me for a test drive, I didn't have time but will return later.
Nice way to end it. My mother (72) owns the previous model Juke and loves it. She sweet and doesn't quite "trust" the proximity key tech yet (even though she's owned it for 4 years), so she clips the fob on her belt loop so the unlock button is in quick reach. To her, the Juke is the cutest thing ever, and she HATES the new Kicks that Nissan gave us in the US.
5:40 the huge, visible wire running to the rear view mirror looks SO cheap! How much more would it have cost to integrate it into the housing and hide it!?

@A real bisexual petrol-head what because i said a car looks like a lifted Micra aka put some more effortinto the design, like i understand Audi's looking similar but they dont look that similar, the cars should be different, Copy and pasting is basically what they did
@A real bisexual petrol-head 😂😂 fucking 10 year olds. All cars dont look the same but these are two do, Nissans smallest car and a "SUV" thats what your taking out, look at the fucking car, Nissan's actual SUV the Patrol doesn't look like a Micra even there other crossover the Quasqai (probs spelt wrong) doesn't look a Micra but this simply those. Also thank for backing my other comment.
Had mine 1 month today. Firstly, I still haven't been able to connect to the app that lets you lock it like in the Juke and Nissan aren't helping much. There is a lot of technology that takes over which makes the car brake for you especially when you don't need it. Just need to figure out how to turn it off. The engine is better than the 1.2 dig-t it definitely sounds a bit more throaty. Overall a far superior Juke compared to the last one.
@@ayushmalpeddi2793 just took it on a long run to France I sat at 85mph most of the way down if you press the blue cruise control it holds back a longish distance but when you move to the outside lane it picks up speed again. Matt made out it was slow in fourth gear to get to 70 he must have been in eco mode
Every car company is trying to be like a tech company nowadays and they’re doing it wrong, some companies like BMW have managed to pull it off decently in their new vehicles but you still have problems with the digital key and the fact there was a point where you had to pay for Apple CarPlay
To me, the previous model looks way better and is legendary. In fact, I think it is the best looking automobile on the road. I have been using a wine red Juke for 8 years and hope to use it for another 8 ! I always use it on Eco mode, and it does very well on fuel, but even on the eco mode it has a very powerful pick up. Fantastic vehicle.
Does aux pause music, skip forward and backward using the cars built in controls, handle phone calls? No. I don't even have to get my phone out my pocket, just change the input to Bluetooth and it will even carry on playing where it left off. And that's before you even start with Google Assistant it Siri, both which work well over Bluetooth. In fact, I don't have to touch anything, I can just tell my phone what music I want. So, how can aux be simpler, safer and more convenient?
Cant belive the juke is not available with a powerfull over 200hp engine like the old gen, i had that one and it made it very but VERY cool to drive ( 0-60 is around 6 seconds with that 1.6 turbo)
The flood of bulbous CUVs really makes me appreciate all of the traditional sedans still on the market. Also, what's up with all the unpainted plastic cladding around the wheel wells of almost all CUVs?
Sport mode allows over boost which gives the added torque, if you’re on the motorway and want power put the car in sport. Makes the car a lot more responsive
I have one of these. And if mat had put it in sport mode rather than normal the acceleration in 4th would have been better. To be honest I never use it in normal mode or eco for that matter. Just leave it in sport and its perfectly fine
How much difference does the sport mode make to the drive compared to the reveiw? I'm really considering a Juke on my shortlist along with a Ford Puma & Peugeot 2008(my wife has a 3008 and I know I would like the 2008) but I really do love the look of the new Juke.
@@Agelmar101 I bought one for my aunt (with an idea in my mind that I will drive it a lot too) last week, test drove it, drove it more after that and in sport mode the car simply wakes up. Also, have you decided to get something yet?

@@florme6494 I love the car. The gearbox is far from laggy, in fact, it is the fastest gearbox I have driven. DCT is fast, shifts instantly when you give it more gas, especially in Sport mode. Not sure what rattles do you think about, but I haven't experienced any. The ride is really smooth. Emergency braking works fine for me, saved me once, it just likes to notify you for a milisecond in weird one way roads with parallel parking next to them, but it will never brake in such cases so it's safe. Ok, I own a Nissan Almera 1.8 Sport since new (it is almost 20 years old) and what do I get with this new Juke? - 0.8 liters of displacement less - 1 cylinder less - same horsepower and performance figures with a slightly worse top speed - no Multi-link rear suspension Cars are meant to be driven but nowadays everything is about screens and safety systems and the driving experience goes away...
@@papafranku8657 This might be true, but the small engine is more prone to failure due to more stress it experiences since it has 117 horsepower per liter in comparison with 66 in my old car. So the possible savings on gas go on to repairs since the engine is far more stressed and has many more complicated systems. My car has almost 200 000 miles on the clock and the engine has never been touched on. I would like to see how this new small and unbalanced (10:45) engine would do with 200 000 miles...
@@MrFlash1412 Yeah I'd definitely agree with you on that one, unfortunately most of the smaller cars and cuv's only use this setup now.. except for new Mazda's such as the mazda 3 which I believe still uses a 4 cylinder 2.0 L petrol engine without a turbo as standard.

I think the looks have improved both inside and out. Could I say sporty looking even but with the one and only option of a one litre engine the word sporty flys right out of the window. A 1.6 litre perhaps make it abit more interesting. Thankfully no hateful CVT at least. Some of the best useful features in the rear hatch area tho. Hideable cover, change floor height etc, excellant.

1 liter, 3 cylinder engine!
People must know that turbocharging a small engine to gain more power is not good for engines longevity.
explain
@@Ben_Mayall thank you for edifying me 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿

Thumbs up on this one!
it's a crossover, not an SUV... Sport Utility Vehicle it is not as it's neither of those.
The drive is terrible though. I bought one after watching the JUkE review videos and the longer I have the car, the more I regret it. Today i was driving along when crash sensor went off - auto brakes applied, warning alerts were blaring but there was nothing in front of me. In a 80km zone this was not fun!!!! And this always happens!!! Very jumpy bunny hoppy drive - for 40000 AUD youd think theyd at least have the driving experience right.
Two remarks:
Let's not forget this is a SMALL SUV.
11:21 They really put the Renault Logo there
@Kitsune Ken That's the problem I have with Nissan products today.

It keeps the quirkyness of the old one, with the round headlights etc. But it doesn't look hideous, it actually looks really good.
Which old one?
I just bought one today 🥰❤️ car is sexy interior and exterior is exquisite ❤️
Love the new Juke, saw a mid spec today in Auckland, the Nissan rep tried to throw the keys at me for a test drive, I didn't have time but will return later.
Nice way to end it. My mother (72) owns the previous model Juke and loves it. She sweet and doesn't quite "trust" the proximity key tech yet (even though she's owned it for 4 years), so she clips the fob on her belt loop so the unlock button is in quick reach. To her, the Juke is the cutest thing ever, and she HATES the new Kicks that Nissan gave us in the US.
Happy New year Mat and Carwow !!!

Isaac Hunt how is the smoothness and engine refinement?
@@ayushmalpeddi2793 just took it on a long run to France I sat at 85mph most of the way down if you press the blue cruise control it holds back a longish distance but when you move to the outside lane it picks up speed again. The old one was hideous
I bought the Juke in this colour for my daughter this week. It's a cracking car. I've got to admit I'm looking forward to having a drive in it myself.
5:10 I still firmly believe that, in cars, aux is simpler, safer, and more convenient than Bluetooth. Glad Nissan included it.
12:15 - Everything you gotta see.

Sport mode allows over boost which gives the added torque, if you’re on the motorway and want power put the car in sport. Makes the car a lot more responsive
100% tried it on a quiet road and once activated you can feel and see the difference after a second or two delay before it kicks in great
USA: Nissan removes Juke and replaces it with the Kicks.

Kicks is absolute garbage I wish they sold the new juke
Same thing with India also
I only remember that Juke Nismo!
The engine vibration is a common characteristic of a 3 cylinder engine.
Thought this was a Toyota CH-R the first time I saw one out and about! Looks way nicer than the first generation Juke though!
It feels like it gets additional 10-15 horsepower, the feeling of the steering wheel changes, etc. I also never drive it outside of sport mode. If you need anything else just ask. Also, have you decided to get something yet?
@@NextGenGamer1thinking of buying one. How are you finding it a year later? My concerns are the apparent laggy gear box, rattles & the self emergency braking which seems to misjudge situations consistently. The rest seems amazing. Have you found any other short comings.
Generally, I haven't noticed any weaknesses besides worse offroad abilities on snow compared to my old Sportage which had All Wheel Drive.

The original Juke was “burn my 👀” ugly. This one not as offensive, yet.
Ok, I own a Nissan Almera 1.8 Sport since new (it is almost 20 years old) and what do I get with this new Juke?
- 0.8 liters of displacement less
- 1 cylinder less
- same horsepower and performance figures with a slightly worse top speed
- no Multi-link rear suspension
Cars are meant to be driven but nowadays everything is about screens and safety systems and the driving experience goes away...
Same horsepower and performance figures with less displacement and thereby probably better fuel economy.. Can't see why that is not a good thing
