Thank you so much for posting this. No wonder I wasnt able to figure out why mines coordinates didnt work. I had no idea there were multiple format for GPS coordinates. This now opens up a whole new possibilities for new adventures. Thank you once again.
Thank you for showing how to do things on the Garmin GPS's not many dive into and talk about. Unboxing and reading specs on paper is usually all what I've seen on other channels but doesn't help me to actually know how use the many features but thankful you do these for us. Keep them coming.
Thank you! I live in Central and South America, where there are no addresses, just directions. I have 2 Garmin auto GPS devices, until your video, I never was able to use the coordinate functions on either.
Never noticed the coordinates in my Garmin were different than what was in goole maps and trying to enter them was driving me crazy. Your video has helped immensely! Thank you and safe travels!
You said that we can go anywhere on the earth using coordinates found on Google Map...But I’m not sure ! Don’t we have to download,or buy the map on micro sd card of the country containing the spot you want to visit and load on your Garmin Drive Smart 65 first ? Thank You for your practical advices.
Hi, the answer is Yes and NO. If you want to go to a spot using the streets and roads then you need to have the maps of that area. However if you are in middle of a desert already with no roads or streets, and you want to go to a spot to find something just enter the coordinates and walk to it. Most Garmin GPS devices have Base Map in them which covers most countries and their major Interstates, but for roads, streets, and addresses you need the map for that region.
This video is informative but obsolete - the manual entry of coordinates is not required. In the beginning of the video it was stated to use Google maps but Google Earth was used. Still good information.
Agreed, the manual entry of the coordinates is not required, but it's more convenient than entering an address in a language and alphabet that you are completely unfamiliar with. I rather enter the coordinates than entering an address in Greek, Japanese, Arabic, Hebrew, Mandarin, Hindi, Vietnamese, or Danish.
Is it possible to do that using an iphone app? I have the coordinates to where I want to go. I just need an app that will allow me to enter the coordinates the way you did. Or which Garmin device would you recommend? I'm trying to locate mines. Thank you.
You don't need to waste your time and money on any app, just get the free Google Maps app. In that app you can enter coordinates for your destination and start navigating.
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 I looked at a Garmin 51 today at Walmart. Would you know if this model has the GPS coordinates feature that the 65 has? That feature is mostly what I'd use it for so just looking for an inexpensive Garmin that would have that feature. Thanks again.
@@BibleMadeSimple Yes most of the newer ones have that feature, however it is not easily accessible so you need to manually add it. Here is how you do it ruclips.net/video/zDXiT8rwFjA/видео.html
You don't need to do that for example on mobile, you just press on the point of interest whenever you want to go ,you just select directions I am doing this from Nokia time when they introduced their navigation map, now Google map has so much more information, anyway thanks.
@@almr123 Since I didn't try this on a Nokia Navigation device, I can't confirm or reject your statement. However, I do appreciate that you took the time to write your input which will help other users of Nokia Navigation devices.
@@abimaputra Yes you can use Topo on a Nuvi 1350 but it will run a little slow because of the massive graphics processing load. I don't have the Topo maps for Indonesia but you can get it from this site mapstor.com/map-sets/country-maps/indonesia-and-guinea.html

Need the gadget to put the GPS CORDINANTS into to use the numbers on the map
Yes you can change it in GPS Coordinate options.
You could convert to the different format
Yes you can, here is the link for that www.gps-coordinates.net/gps-coordinates-converter

You can also use the coordinates from Google Map that you got when clicking on the map. You have to set your GPS to "h.ddd.dddddd" .
Yes you can, however you have to make sure the Garmin GPS coordinate input settings match the same format which is on Google.
