The website says kids under age 14 cannot have USCIS account and have to do from parents' account. When I do that, all the information asked is of me and not of my kids. When I put in their DOB, it won't accept it coz the account is already been associated with my account when I applied for myself earlier. How do you apply N-600 for kids under 14 years old through parents' USCIS account? 凸 9

You would need to file for n-600 if they naturalized before the age of 18 on or after the year 2000. You can also apply for a us passport as well if you provide the right documentation.
@@muhammadabdullahi3312 Yes you should be able to file a N-600 as once your parents became US citizens you yourself became a citizen due to the Child Citizenship Act of 2000. Though I still recommend you go get a US Passport alongside your N-600 as that can give you a proof of citizenship while your N-600 is being processed.
@@muhammadabdullahi3312 Only children residing in the United States are eligible to automatically acquire U.S. citizenship under Section 320 of the Immigration and Nationality Act. If your child automatically acquired U.S. citizenship, you may apply for the child's certificate of citizenship from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or apply for a U.S. passport. If your child has not obtained a certificate of citizenship, you will need to present the following when applying for your child's U.S. passport: Proof of the child’s relationship to the U.S. citizen parent. For the biological child of a U.S. citizen, this generally will be a certified copy of the foreign birth certificate (and a translation if the birth certificate is not in English). For an adopted child, you must submit a certified copy of the final adoption decree (and a translation if the decree is not in English); Proof the child is admitted as a lawful permanent resident, such as the child’s foreign passport with a I-551 stamp, or the child's permanent resident card (green card); Proof of identity and citizenship of the U.S. citizen parent(s); Evidence the child is residing in the United States in the legal and physical custody of the U.S. citizen parent; Completed Form DS-11 and supporting documents. If your child obtained a certificate of citizenship from USCIS, you must submit it with your child’s passport application as proof of citizenship. This is what the state department says. Even if this is for kids it can still apply if they naturalized before you turned 18. I also recommend getting a book and card as you can use the card for things like updating your Social Security status. Translations of documents if not in English need to be certified and physical copies along with photocopies are ideal. Make multiple copies of everything. This works if you have not yet applied for N-600. For proof of US custody you can use marriage certificate (translation needed if not in English), US school records and so on.

Please get your proof of citizenship asap by filing the N-600. If you don't then when you apply for social security you will be denied like I was. Social security wants proof of my citizenship before I can get any benefits!!. They would not accept my adoption papers as proof that I automatically became a US citizen when my stepfather legally adopted my brother and I. I had to pay $1170.00 to file the N-600 in July. I just had my biometrics appt today and that was a joke! I've been told that my application could take another 5 to 9 months because of the USIC back log. In the meantime I don't have the retirement income that I worked all my life for! I also don't have Medicare. You have to be on SS to get Medicare. his whole process has been a nightmare for me!!
I want to add that back in the day when I was adopted all my mother had to do was fill out a simple form that cost $5.00. But she didn't bother doing that..SS also told me that I could just bring in an American passport as proof of citizenship and that they would accept that.. They literalyl told me to apply for one instead of he N-600 as it would be faster and cheaper for me. So, I did that. It was $300.00 and it was denied because I didn't submit proof of my citizenship with the application. Seriously, nobody knows what they're doing!

If you swam in from Mexico it will probably be free of charge and expedited...
Hello, My mom just recently got through naturalization process and became US citizen and my mom wants me to also be US citizen so we filled for N-600 but it’s too expensive and I’m wondering if I can get US passport through my mom who became US citizen?

Both parents must of been us citizens. Depends on the law that applied to you. The law changed on 2/28/2001.
Only one side of the parent need to be a USC it’s enough evidence already not Both !
@vidanaps714 Oh really ?
My father died when I was 6 years old, I managed to enter the United States with a green card at 14 years old and I began to collect my father's social security benefit to support myself. I was deported for 2 years of probation when I was 24. I have no possibility of applying for my citizenship. Do you think I can do that at the embassy personally?

Because he adopted you before your 18th birthday you automatically became a U.S. citizen. You can file n-600 to get your certificate which will be your certificate of naturalizationship.
Please be careful accepting answers in the comment section. Adoptions must be concluded before the child reaches the age of 16, not 18, with some exceptions (adopting siblings one of which is older than 15).
I have a question, for documents to provide like birth certificate, proof of their naturalization, etc, my parents want to provide a photocopy because they're scared if they provide the original documents they will get lost/not returned to them. What should we do?

Yes. All you need to file for their petition is proof that you are a U.S. citizen, and with your USA passport you would prove that. All you need to do is submit a copy of your passport as evidence of us citizenship. I’m available to help if anything ! Best of luck

Thave a question. I just became citizen applying through USCIS account and now started trying to apply N-600 for my kids.

Hello, what if I don’t have access to my parent’s birth certificate or citizenship certificate( he refuses to give them to me). I was born in 2001 outside of the US, my dad naturalized in 1996. So I was born a US citizens. My father was the one who filed for my green card, so immigration have all of the documents because my dad sent them to them when filing for my green card. But when I tried filing for the N600 they asked for me to send them a copy of them. I don’t have them, now I do know what to do. Can someone give me some advice please. Thank you!

Hi. Let say we go for the passport. Can my son travel in and out of the US? Will there be a problem?
One does not qualify for a passport if they can't prove they're a citizen! I tried. I was told that I wouldn't have a problem leaving the country but I would probably not be let back in. 4:55

Do I need to file N 600my minor child as she is born in United States ?

Since your child was born in the US then you do not have to file a n-600 as she already has a birth certificate which is proof of US citizenship and can be used to get a passport.

No , your child is a US citizen since they were born here, the birth certificate is the strongest form of a US citizenship

If I change my name from India legally and if my birth certificate cannot be updated to the new name here then will it affect my application for citizenship, PR, or work permit. My passport would get updated to my new name, it is just that my country doesn't allow me to update my birth certificate.

@@HackingImmigrationLawLLC Alright, thanks.
im 20 years old, my dad and mom were both citizen way before I turned 18 years old. I become a permanent resident at the age of 10. I'm confused help me, should I file for N-600 or N400. Thanks
You would need to file for n-600 if they naturalized before the age of 18 on or after the year 2000. You can also apply for a us passport as well if you provide the right documentation.
@@michaelhorgan9525 No I wasn't Naturalized neither did I apply for naturalization certificate. Can still File N-600
@@michaelhorgan9525 How can I get US passport while I don't have Neutralization certificate. I only have Permanent resident Card?
@@muhammadabdullahi3312 Only children residing in the United States are eligible to automatically acquire U.S. citizenship under Section 320 of the Immigration and Nationality Act. If your child automatically acquired U.S. citizenship, you may apply for the child's certificate of citizenship from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or apply for a U.S. passport. If your child has not obtained a certificate of citizenship, you will need to present the following when applying for your child's U.S. passport:
Proof of the child’s relationship to the U.S. citizen parent. For the biological child of a U.S. citizen, this generally will be a certified copy of the foreign birth certificate (and a translation if the birth certificate is not in English). For an adopted child, you must submit a certified copy of the final adoption decree (and a translation if the decree is not in English);
Proof the child is admitted as a lawful permanent resident, such as the child’s foreign passport with a I-551 stamp, or the child's permanent resident card (green card);
Proof of identity and citizenship of the U.S. citizen parent(s);
Evidence the child is residing in the United States in the legal and physical custody of the U.S. citizen parent;
Completed Form DS-11 and supporting documents.
At my age I’m way past 18 my mom always told me that but she never told me how to go about doing this and I’m way past 18 what can I do or is it too late?
If you are a US citizen, you can file an N-600 when you are over 18. That is not a problem. Jim
