Remember how you needed to use a channel lock plier to loosen the filter because you could not loosen it by hand? Yeah, that's how tight it should be. Get the correct oil filter socket that perfectly fits the end of filter, which is why it has flats, (like $8) at any auto parts store, just snug the filter by hand, then go additional 2/3rd of a turn with wrench as instructed! I do my own valve clearance checks and oil changes and have 20,500 miles on. Oil capacity is 3+ quarts, but I've found it takes only about 2.5 at changes. You will love that socket!!!!! Enjoy :)
