In this video is a compilation of clips from when work first started on this station back in January 2022 and my first visit on 7th October 2023, very impressive so far, i didn't understand why they couldnt connect up the track between merseyrail and northern as theres no third rail on this merseyrail station as the new trains will run on battery between kirkby and Headbolt.

Battery-powered? Won't last for 5 minutes, I'll bet. All unit trains run on fuel and it's gonna stay that way, otherwise they won't be able to run.
well have to see, its the future unfortunately, the services havent been running the last few days so they must already have problems, its only about a mile at most of non electrified track the batterys working of
Why the hell have they made it so you can't go straight, though, but now have to get on two trains to do the train journey. that's just stupid, in my opinion!!
am not sure either to be honest, i would have thought the track could be connected even though the merseyrail will only run this far, must be something to do with safety
