I have tested it out, and they're actually super comfortable. I always travel with 2nd class (naturally, it's cheaper), but it's a huge step up compared to what it used to be. Czech Railways are finally upgrading.

I case of delays Czech trains are way mor punctional (on time +/- 5 min) than tragic german trains..! (where "on time" is +/-7 min ....
I'm Czech and I live in Göteborg. We have a direct comfortable connection to Copenhagen. It would be great to have these trains run from Copenhagen to Prague. Not really a fan of flying.
It is worth noting that in Bohumín (although it is relatively small city) there is the second largest railway depot of the Czech Railways company (the largest one is in Prague) :)
Another cool fact is that it's such an important junction that there actually, years and years ago, was a simulator game where you were in charge of directing trains around the station. 🙂 Apparently you can still download it. It's called Gordikon - as a reference to the legendary knot from antiquity - railway junctions are called "knots" in Czech. (I never played it, I was too young to understand it, and generally I'm not very into games. But I like the fact that this one's really trying to be a realistic simulator of what the dispatch in a specific railway station would be doing.)

Great video and great to see ČD bringing in new stock. I did Dresden - Prague in 1st a few months ago on the old coaches and they were comfortable but worn out… nonfunctional toilets and my coach had a loud flat wheel. Hopefully they’ll be brought into the international routes soon…
I love you videos sir Simon ! The one on the comfort jet was excellent ! Let's do it again when the controller cars and diners are available ! All the best to you!
Hey, as a Czech citizen, thanks for positive review of our railways. I don´t know if im gonna catch the train to my journey From Ostrava to Prague in August but i will try to buy the First class ticket.
First class coach in the middle of a train is a good idea when the train calls at through stations more often than terminal stations so the first class coach will be in the shortest walking distance from the underpass (so from the entrance/exit). See the Swiss ICN EMU's for example.
Looking forward to see that new train in service in Austria as well. It looks like a nicely upgraded Railjet 1, not like what seems to have happened with Railjet 2.
I really like Czech trains ngl. They are more comfortable, on some regional routes there's an option for first class (which is cool ngl) and the network is fairly modern.
but infrastructure is garbage, it looks new, but newer = even more delays and we send more trains than tracks can handle and that cuses train accidents (poeple die here in trains every year), delayes, canceled trains....it's terrible in last 10 years that even I am thinking about buying car and I really don't like cars. Our main corridor between Prague and Moravia region is overbussy, there is a train every 2 minutes, so one problem means that trains are screwed in whole country and there is no solution, because villagers who hate trains will block everything for decades.
Don't pay attention to @Pidalin . He’s clearly really angry and just trying to vent his frustration in the comments. A lot of what he's saying isn’t accurate and is exaggerating the situation. It's better to stick to the facts and not take overly negative and emotional comments seriously.
@@snecisko5162 I travel by trains whole my life, we had a car in 1999 for the last time in my family, so when I am saying that amount of delayed and canceled trains is bigger and bigger every year, you should trust me. Everything looks nice, but nothing works. But I am already used to that people have very low standards and they don't care, their lord drops few coins and they will be silent, but they won't bribe me that easily like average villagers. When they repair new strain stations, I want even UNLOCKED toilets, working ticket machines, maybe even coffee machine (I mean working one) and stuff like that. Do I want too much? It's 2024 the hell, we should not be satisfied just be politician's talks, we should want real succecess that I can see as an ordinary person. I don't live in some average statistic, I live in one specific place, near to main corridor from Prague to Moravia, more specifically on train line S12 from Poříčany to Nymburk and it's getting worse every year, delays, canceled trains, no connections in weekends in later hours, it's getting WORSE, so don't lie that I am just angry, because I am using public transportation for whole my life and I want more, this is not enough what they give us for that money and from our taxes.
Thanks for the review! Would love to see some sleeping trains for long routes like Copenhagen or Zurich. Did zurich a year ago with České Dráhy and it was pure pain. No wifi, no eating vagon (just an emplyee with trolley and few sandwiches - passed us once during the whole trip) , seating in the 80´ "kupé" style for something like 13-15h. I did 2 years ago a trip from Hanoi to Danang by train and just having separete places for sleeping and eating does soo much.
One thing, trains operated by Czech Railways typically haveon site dining in the first class, meaning the dining car staff will come to you to ask, whether you want anything from the diner and you have priority serving as a perk of first class. Note that either a steward responsible for the coach (on Pendolino trains) or conductor will give you the water bottle at the start of your journey, but a proper waiter will come for your dining order and will serve you your food! Not the conductor!
Ah yeah! That also explains the menus in first class. Granted I spend most of my time with headphones on, so I might not have noticed the dining car attende in the carriage 😅
Afaik the two bike spaces and thus symmetrical design is owed to the lack of cab cars as the normal cars lack standard couplers, they put on two end cars, one of them coupled to the restaurant. Once they get cab cars and restaurants, they’ll split the sets up and reassemble them in their final form
I didn't even know we had these! Btw. you should definitely come to Brno to ride the new "Moravia" trains that we've got, on the lines S2, S3, S9. (Main line from Křenovice - Letovice and Křižanov - Hustopeče/Židlochovice). You should definitely take a look, I've ridden them few times just past this week in the hot summer, there was fully blasting AC and nobody on the train! It looks perfect. Greetings and I hope you enjoyed Czechia :)
Agree, those are lovely train. And each EMU is named after a different wine grape variety! (That are grown in the South Moravian region which Brno is the capital of.) Only thing missing is if they served the wine there but since it's a regional train without a dining car, you'd have to take it onboard yourself.😁
I'm a fan of this, never really seen any carriage having staff seat/room, most of the time staff stands or sits somewhere where noone is or casually chat with customers
The U. K. privatised the railways many years ago. It has been a disaster. Large companies failed and are now back in state ownership and have improved the service, fares and catering. The designers of even our newest trains need a good lesson in making our rolling stock more attractive, inside and out. We have some of the highest fares in the world. I have travelled with Czech Railways many times; it makes me quite envious.
Basically you can blame the DFT for meddliing in the sourcing of trains and trying to do it on a budget - hence specifying outer surburban seats for long distance trains. The designers will design what they are told to to meet the price criteria and performance spec....
When it comes to quality, Czech Railways (ČD) was a very different company prior to privatisation of rail services. It had all major rail assets: the railway, the stations, cars and locos, it controlled both passenger and cargo transport. The ČD was involved in politics through "allied" parties and was getting huge amount of money from subsidised contracts, even when the contracted lines would be profitable on it's own. And the services were just terrible. I remember a time, when having a running water on Prague - Brno train was a rarity. It was not matter of age of the cars, it was about the effort put into upkeep. And ČD just didn't really care. The staff was brazen and arrogant. The introduction of private companies was quite a bold political move at the time. ČD had to give up most of the assets mainly the track and buildings, it was forced to compete for the subsidies on merit. And in the space of few years there was a significant improvement in the quality of the services and keeping up with timetables. Sure, I haven't met a ČD employee who would agree with me, and they would try to school me with phrases like "You don't know anything about how railways operate." But what I do know is, that there was a time, when I wanted to puke when going to ČD toilet and then suddenly someone started to clean the toilets.
From what i can tell, cd uses the same platform as the first öbb railjet. they only switched the seat and table models, but overall layout seems to be identical. a shame that öbb tried to change too much at once...

The carrige looks amazing, but the problem with the "High-Speed! part is that czech railways are just not made to sustain a stress from those speeds. It will take decades, if ever are we ready to use the trains to their full potential.
I think they certified some part of track for like 250 km/h speed but it's so short segment that trains can't even accelerate to 200 and have to start braking.
ČD RaijJetzs are better then OBB inside black and very depresive RailJets - for both its already 10 years old train.. The light ver4sion of ComfortJet is domestic only long distance Interjet - the difference between InterJet and Comfort Jet will be that ComfortJet s will be abble to go 230 km/h, will have restaurant car and will not have only loko, but also conducting car... When I compare ČD InterJet/ComfortJet and 2nd generation of OBB RailJet - the OBB train is really bad comparing to ČD t8rain
@@johnnygomez7063 All ÖBB Railjets also go 230km/h maximum speed. But the line between Graz and Prague is not equipped for this speed. They can do it between Vienna and Linz or between Innsbruck and Kufstein.
2nd class seats on this train are the nightmare. I had to travel siting on them 4hours. Seats are hard as stone. Literally I was about to cry after this journey.
That's capitalism. You must physically feel, that you are "underclass" that can not afford 1st class. 😆😆 I still don't know why are old "commie" trains from 60's (and some from 90's) way more comfortable. That's cool. Shame it rides only to Bohumin and not further to Katowice-Warsaw-Gdańsk, but that's PKP PLK for you (for context: they aren't very happy about new rail companies and there are some... theories, that they sabotaged Koleje Śląskie when they started operating on larger scale). But hopefully that too will be changed soon.
Soon it will ride to the whole area of Kladsko region. Kladsko used to be a part of our Lands of the Bohemian Crown. Then that weak Maria Theresia came and lost it to Prussia. Our hearts are still crying.
What means "soon" - as we know PKP PLK hasbeen sabotaging the entrance of regioJet on the polish train market - they are allowed jut to transite via PL but not stop for passengers anywhere in PL
@@jancada2578 I cannot say anything concrete other then that there are some public rumors that in not so distant future PKP PLK will be forced to start allowing other companies. How it'll look like? I have no clue. You talk about regioJet and it's troubles - meanwhile those bastards were sabotaging Koleje Śląskie, which are a domestic company, whose only sin was not being part of the PKP grup. Presumably to make other regions think twice before giving all internal traffic to their own companies. It's a shame really. I'd love to have a direct sleeper train to, say Italy, even if it's a few times a week, but until PLK is forced to allow competition - IDK.
To be honest, while I like that we are moving forward and getting new sets that can go at high speeds and have all these sorts of luxuries like air conditioning, wifi, power plugs and usb ports and whatever else, I can't help but mourn the replacement of the old carriges. I'm gonna miss the compartments and the openable windows, hell even the noise. I love that on the old trains, you could get into compartments and have a little piece of the train just for you or your family, and since they were relatively sound isolating, you could speak loudly and laugh and such and there was also more leg space, so much so, that you could leave your seat and go to the toilet without the people sitting next to you having to get up and leave their seats so that you could get out - which was something I ran into while traveling to Munich last month, as the OBB carriges I was traveling in were quite similar. Likewise, the openable windows are just such a blast, I'm gonna miss them so much - there's nothing better than just opening the window and looking outside while the train is moving at 80 - 120 km/h, it's so much fun and it was and still is something I really love whenever I ride on these old coaches. Also even the sounds, this is probably more of a nostalgia thing, but I grew acustomed to the screaching and humming of the old carringes, as well as the ,,ddnk ddnk'' as they ride on some old track with old rail connections. It just feels like these newer trains were are so ... sanitized ... in a way. Going on the old ones was not just a way to get from a poit A to point B, but also an experience and an adventure. The new ones are just ... you get on, sit in silence ... get out, it's honestly quite boring. I can't help it. I know that technology is moving forward and we can't keep using these old coaches forever, at some point we are just going to need to replace them, but I really wish there was something more taken from the old trains and kept in the newer carriges. Sure keep the wifi and aircon and the other cool modern tech that you like, but like keep the compartments, keep the windows openable - atleast to a certain speed, don't make these trains so boring to ride. I don't really want to travel in these crammed uncomfortable seats, because it's the more profitable configuration, I wanna sit in a compartment, with my friends on the bench seats, where I can lay down if I'm traveling alone and the compartment is empty, where I don't have to worry about where to put my feet comfortable because there's enough space and where I can open up the window and enjoy the ride and the beautifull countryside. It's not so much to ask is it ?
Sorry but I just dont like compartments and never have. Even if Im travelling with family. Because most times Im simply not travelling with 5 other people and every time Im in cabin with strangers, Id rather just be in normal seats. I sometimes go with RailJet and honestly I like that way more than compartments. Usually I dont even think I have much problem with legroom.
Good comment and very nice description. The nostalgia of the old ones! Windows, breeze, noise. Not always as comfortable in the same way, but there’s just something about it that just feels right.
I get your point and I can confirm that nostalgia is a mighty witch because I fully remember terrible rides in dirty conditions during 90s but I emotionally connect with those calm, nice rides in empty trains or rowdy laughter with friends in separate compartments...I still enjoy open windows more than AC even in my new car. 😀
This changes absolutely nothing. The top speed anywhere within the country is limited by the infrastructure to 160km/h, there is talk of maybe having 180 in some places soon-ish. The trainsets, while nice, are nothing revolutionary, as the interior is very similar to the Interjets and Czech Railjets... Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate we're getting them and I can't wait until they start running all the way to Copenhagen... But for the foreseeable future this changes absolutely nothing...
Many parts of the Czech corridors are made to reach up to 200km/h, the only problem here is the legislation, limiting the train speed to 160km/h with passengers.
I see your point, but i understand that change doesn't come all at once. First they modernise the tracks, then they build new train sets, then they could put pressure on the legislation like "look, we're ready to operate on higher speeds, update the laws already! The law is the only thing holding us back!" until they change it. Basically just incremental improvements are still improvements. 10-15 years ago, I couldn't even dream that something this nice and modern could be riding our rails, yet here we are. But yeah, i also don't see much difference compared to the Interjets. Though with the planned control and restaurant cars, i get the feeling that this is meant to just be a modified version of the Interjet for a different role? Interjets are meant to run inside Czechia (inter = inside), so they are more simple, but Comfortjets are meant as international service only (comfort for long distance)?
allowing higher speeds is a bit more involved if the standards were all set for max of 160. Consider signal visibility for instance. Old style lights are allowed up to 200 but not above (need to go to something like ETCS for 230). The other aspect is that of grade crossings. You need to set standards that apply between 160 and 200 or above for grade crossings and ensure that the circuitry that is installed will work and close gates with sufficient warning before train passes. You need to reach further away from the grade crossings so the signals that detect approaching train and its speeds will start the process in time since train reaches crossing faster. Of course, Europe already has those standards so Czeck Republic could just copy those from another EU country.
The top speed might not change anything (unless travelling internationally, which is supposed to be exclusive purpose of these trains) , but having a lot of trains that are almost as good as railjet (the seats aren't quite as good) is a big deal in terms of getting rid of the worst trainsets.
I'd argue this changes a lot. It gives more capacity and replaces the old trains to Berlin and allows for faster journeys to places like Hamburg and Graz. But yeah inside CZ it's minimal, but that's not where the trains are planned to be used!
As far as I know these sets intentionally lack the cab cars (driving trailers) so they can put together various consists more flexibly. See the old restaurant car for example. Even Austrian Nightjet consists have a gangway on one end.
The really important question is... Do the restaurant cars on the route from Prague and Dresden still have a half-price drinks happy hour in the early evening, and when these carriages are introduced, will this continue?
The interior design and amenities are impressive. Lots of bike storage and even space for kids. Obviously not done by accountants ! In terms of speed, the marking on the car see on your video show max speed of 200 for the ComfortJet , but most materials I found on the next say 230. The original steel Viaggios are 200 and the new aluminium ones are 230. Wondering if Ceske is getting a mix? If you have shown the marking on the dining car, I would be willing to bet it showed 160 as its rated top speed. Train limited by speed rating of its slowest car. Like with ÖBB, the cars have RIC-like markings but not the "RIC" stamp next to max speed and so will need to be approved to operate i each individual country. 110kmh average speed for conventional train that makes stops is pretty good, especially if you had delays. Wijipedia says they purchased the viaggios as permanently coupled option, which explains why the non-Viaggio dining car has to be in the front where the front car is the only one with standard coupler normally to attach to locomotive.
The cars are currently certified for 200 in Czechia but will soon-ish receive certification from other countries for the top speed of 230 so you'll eventually see multiple maximum speed numbers.
@@hhvhhvcz I saw some pictures of prototypes proposed for Ceské Drahi that had 230 on them. Curious to see how the "RIC" labeling at bottom of carriage will be done once they have different speeds for different countries. I would have expcted it to be 230 for the carriage, and then impose speed limist on locomotive due to tracks/signaling.
I just went with what they said on the Bohumin tourisim website :P www.mesto-bohumin.cz/en/about-town/monuments/1217-station-building-of-the-railway-station-in-bohumin.html

First of all - maximum speed limit in Czech Republic is (and will remain for long time) at 160 km/h. If I´m not mistaking, Siemens Vectron locomotives are capable of maximal speed 230 km/h. Nevertheless, this will be possible OUT OF the Czech Republic, only in countries abroad. Trying to figure out what is then the benefit for the Czech railways, except the new coaches and the new Vectron locomotive. What is the need of current time is the high-speed rail infrastructure. well connected to the main European long-distance routes (TENs) , capable of normal operational speed above 200 km/h. This is a huge debt of the Czech railway infrastructure, even compared to countries like Morocco or Poland, which is now building its high-speed rail infrastructure.
@@tomastetur1 Simply put, 230 km/h is needed in order for the train to keep up with the new timetable structure on Hamburg - Berlin, part of one of their backbone international routes. Apart from that the trains mostly just provide additional capacity and allow a cascade of trains to be moved to other lines and replace the oldest loco hauled stuff.
Anyone know why the term "jet" is used so often for trains in central Europe? Railjet, Nightjet, comfortjet, interjet, etc. Obviously the word means something different in those languages than in English.
as a czech, i can say that "jet" means "to go", as in "I want to go/drive to slovakia for a vacation" for example. But i believe that this naming scheme is just pure marketing and Jet (as in airplane) should make you think of speed and modernity. tbh i didn't even make the connection that InterJet could loosely mean Inter-travel until this comment :D
Railjet is the brand name from ÖBB, and can refer to the service or the actual Railjet trains built by Siemens that ÖBB run daytime Railjet services on. The new NightJet, Railjet and ComfortJet trains are based on the same Railjet 2nd Gen trains.
@@johnnygomez7063 They used to have but sold their dining cars. You got very lucky with delay only being 13 minutes. I travelled on route from Žilina (SK) to Prague with train called "ostravan" that uses the same carriges and I had delay about 40 minutes. Because of that I had to wait 1 hour in prague for connection to Rokycany. Very fun trip.

This exact type of trains are already deployed...like a year or two ago and I was driving them daily to work and back. All I can tell you is that these are not that fancy and nice in real high traffic, mostly because of lack of space and seats. They are nice and clean tho
I miss those old russian coaches with hole instead of toilet. Windows welded shut. Non-functional heating, tiny foldable tables and stairs so steep and high you must be acrobat to just exit.
Call me crazy, but I really dislike these vagons, and prefer the other open ones with the thick seats instead. These just look slick, but are uncomfortable. If they made the ones like those on the Prague - Hradec Králové line, but with the ability to pull up the armrest in the middle, it would be SO good. These new vagons, they just don't click. Also, why is there the weird toilet button that just beeps?
Charging of e-bikes is not wise option. If the battery fails and starts fire, it will be impossible to put out. That does not mesh well with flammable train full of passengers. On top of that, the fire will be blocking one of the exits.
I have to say, I preffer the classic B class coaches. You see, I'm obese and those coaches have good old fashioned benches with really good back rests. Perfect for traveling long distances, even though, they don't have aircon. They have a toilet, I'm not actually afraid to clog up (something that happens on the newer vaccume systems regularly), you can open the windows, so even if the loco dies and batteries go flat, you're not baking inside. Sure they lack WiFi and power otulets, but those could be added... I've recently tried out Czech, Slovak and Hungarian EC grade first classes and I only fit in the Czech ones. I'm too tall for Hungarian ones at 177 cm (yes tall, not fat. Their headrests are too low for me and are fixed, meaning I can't lean back into the seat) and this hold's true for both coupé and coach style cars! Slovaks are better, but noone may sit against me. Otherwise, they have my legs betwen theirs and it's very ackward. Long story short... I don't welcome this on our rails... it introduces problems only to increase speed, which will in turn require more maintenance on coaches and the track, which will in turn increase costs to travel on the rail. Bring back the benches and extend the trains, so everybody can have a seat!
I too prefer the old A, B, AB coaches too. The bench seats are more comfortable, and I love being able to open the window and look out and enjoy the countryside. As for Wifi, I can do just fine without staring into my phone for a bit.
Personally, I don't find the first class seats in the new comfort jet comfortable at all. You can only adjust the seat a little. The backrest can't be adjusted at all. The mini armrests seem just as hard as they currently are in the EC trains between Berlin and Prague. I miss a kind of business class area with wider seats. It's a shame that the comfort is getting worse and worse than it used to be in these strange open-plan carriages.
What? These are completely different seats that are currently present in CD Pendolinos, Interjets and Comfortjets. I would say it's a similar comfort to new ICE 3 Neos. These are a lot wider than those in old Berliner first class coaches. Yes, they may look the same but they are way more ergonomic and the armrests are different as well.
If that's true, I'll change my opinion on my first trip on the Comfort Jet. Visually, the seats look exactly like the ones in the current EC trains. However, compartments with light switches and curtains in the aisle would be better and more comfortable in terms of peace and privacy.
230 km/h is definitely around high speed territory, but it's true the 230 km/h won't be used inside the Czech Republic, but it will in Germany for instance
Problem is that Siemens sold us old gen train for a price of a new one. We get less new technologies then new generation of Railjet (like better lightning). Also we already know that the capacity of the trainset is too low for the nowadays demand.
I am from Czech Republic, but I haven't tested comfortjet. So now I know something about our new train!
I have tested it out, and they're actually super comfortable. I always travel with 2nd class (naturally, it's cheaper), but it's a huge step up compared to what it used to be. Czech Railways are finally upgrading.

yes we know...
Because Polish market is closed and PKP has a monopol whereas in Czechia it´s more competetive with RegioJet/Leo Express..

Trains in CZ are very comfortable, mostly brand new and go in very ferquent regular time (every 15, 20, 30, or 60 minutes).

It should be happening with these trains in 2026!
It is worth noting that in Bohumín (although it is relatively small city) there is the second largest railway depot of the Czech Railways company (the largest one is in Prague) :)
Thats a very cool fact!

Hey, as a Czech citizen, thanks for positive review of our railways. I don´t know if im gonna catch the train to my journey From Ostrava to Prague in August but i will try to buy the First class ticket.
This new train will be on iC511 which is the train leaving Praha at 15:32 :-)
First class coach in the middle of a train is a good idea when the train calls at through stations more often than terminal stations so the first class coach will be in the shortest walking distance from the underpass (so from the entrance/exit). See the Swiss ICN EMU's for example.
Ah yeah that's a good point
The Burst of Speed is all I need to set me free

I would love for the Copenhagen to Prague to come back as a proper night train!
Ah ha! That's news to me but makes total sense 😄

Agree, those are lovely train. And each EMU is named after a different wine grape variety! (That are grown in the South Moravian region which Brno is the capital of.) Only thing missing is if they served the wine there but since it's a regional train without a dining car, you'd have to take it onboard yourself.😁

The U. K. privatised the railways many years ago.
The UK didn't privatize railways, that's a huge myth.
Dang, I was expecting a Semtex joke at Pardubice :(

The carrige looks amazing, but the problem with the "High-Speed! part is that czech railways are just not made to sustain a stress from those speeds. It will take decades, if ever are we ready to use the trains to their full potential.
I think they certified some part of track for like 250 km/h speed but it's so short segment that trains can't even accelerate to 200 and have to start braking.
Yeah CZ won't have any track that can do 230 for a while, but its gonna be useful on stuff like Hamburg-Berlin where these train will run a lot.

I see one Czech Street right there 😂
As far as I know these sets intentionally lack the cab cars (driving trailers) so they can put together various consists more flexibly. See the old restaurant car for example. Even Austrian Nightjet consists have a gangway on one end.
then they wouldnt built cab cars
They are getting cab cars for one end, it's just not ready jet, similar to nightjet and the new railjet
Gonna need HSR tracks for international trains
Thats basically the Railjet from the ÖBB
Similar platform, but this one is built also partly by Skoda!
The really important question is...
Do the restaurant cars on the route from Prague and Dresden still have a half-price drinks happy hour in the early evening, and when these carriages are introduced, will this continue?
I gusss we'll see 😆
This has been a thing for many years now, I'm from Czechia and I've traveled many times from Brno to Prague.

Men ren spekulationer
@@Simon-Andersen Ja, det kan være en løsning. Jeg ser dog to problemer med denne model. I givet fald, skal toget afgå nogenlunde samme minuttal, som DSB's ordinære tog.
Vil der være pladser nok i toget? Vi får se.
Will they also be on the Prague-Munich line?
Not as far as i know!
3:48 Yes we pull out ontime at 09:01
*Looks at screen and thinks why it says **09:51*
And these trains must be so fast they posses the ability to go back in time as they arrive at the next station at 9:08
Yea same i was so confused 😂
Just a small typo I didn't notice before publishing. We did indeed leave right on time at 09:01 😄
@@Simon-Andersen I prefer the idea of Czech trains that can move through time.
Apart from that the trains mostly just provide additional capacity and allow a cascade of trains to be moved to other lines and replace the oldest loco hauled stuff.
yay czechia
20k pop but a palace as a station
Maybe one mistake, Ostrava Main station is not the largest and definitelly not most people get on there. Ostrava Svinov is where most people get on.
Ah just assumed Hln is larger, well physically it is, but pax you could be right.
Wait you have to reserve seat? I've never seen anybody to that besides foreigners.
Yes on some IC and SC services its mandatory. But on other trains its optional :-)
@@michalsimanek6988 Oh very interesting, thanks
You forget Czech - largest privat Central European - RegioJet ! Best services onboard all over europe =- but not having dining cars
@@johnnygomez7063
They used to have but sold their dining cars. The reason, those cars were longer, than 26.4 metres and undermaintained so, after the 2nd derailment they were withdrawn from service (at least, I got this information).
6 of 7 of those restaurant coaches were bought by TRATEC CZ company, modernized and 3 are operating on Slovakian express trains as leased restaurant coaches.
Aww that's unlucky. The Žilina train does not run with these carriages but the very similar InterJet ones (fewer carriages and no cab or dining car)
@@Simon-Andersen Oh really ? My bad sorry.
Hello will you do something like this but is Slovakia?
Yes, I have the regiojet Prague - Košice - Chop filmed and I'm going to Slovakia next month, but no promises on when they'll be released as videos 😁
@@Simon-Andersen okay thank you for answering (and of you will be bored you Can go from Poprad by tram to High Tatras mountains or from Štrba by rack railway) ha e a Nice day😃
3:48 it says the time is 9:51h instead of 9:01h
Just a slight typo on my end 09:01 is correct and we did depart perfectly on time
Everyone gangsta until you see a new hammy FFA video in 2024
14:20 ...so still only the Alex between Prague and Munich...
Yes AFAIK these won't be deployed on that route
This exact type of trains are already deployed...like a year or two ago and I was driving them daily to work and back. All I can tell you is that these are not that fancy and nice in real high traffic, mostly because of lack of space and seats. They are nice and clean tho
No thats the InterJet, they are similar but no dining car or cab car for instance.
I miss those old russian coaches with hole instead of toilet. Windows welded shut. Non-functional heating, tiny foldable tables and stairs so steep and high you must be acrobat to just exit.
Hmmm... So dep. was at 9:01, or at 9:51?
09:01, slight typo
Love a Vectron me
Call me crazy, but I really dislike these vagons, and prefer the other open ones with the thick seats instead. These just look slick, but are uncomfortable. If they made the ones like those on the Prague - Hradec Králové line, but with the ability to pull up the armrest in the middle, it would be SO good. These new vagons, they just don't click. Also, why is there the weird toilet button that just beeps?
highspeed train :D :D :D
Pretty nice, but my love is for RegioJet xD
I love RegioJet - They are my favorite in CZ :D
@@Simon-Andersen No one rly likes RegioJet among the Czech rail fans. Old stocks, they crash a lot, always the highest delay…
We dont have a high speed trains in Czech, but its still great.... I just dont like your clickbait title...
230 km/h is definitely around high speed territory, but it's true the 230 km/h won't be used inside the Czech Republic, but it will in Germany for instance
It doesn't really change anything, does it 😉
Wtf are you talking about? clueless as always
many views and opinions? attitude, priorities... just 4 thing I came in 4 secs ..
Problem is that Siemens sold us old gen train for a price of a new one. We get less new technologies then new generation of Railjet (like better lightning). Also we already know that the capacity of the trainset is too low for the nowadays demand.
ČESKÝ DRÁHY LETS FUCKING GO!!!!!!!!!
"Why I Love This INCREDIBLE Brand-New Czech High-Speed Train" Because its high speed train that will never go high speed? :D
it will go highspeed next year in Germany
It will go 230 in Germany next year 😁
