Tesla has single handedly kick started the transistion to EVs and begun the transistion away from fossil fuels. Luckily there are now (because of Tesla) alternative EVs. But Starlink is, like SpaceX, so much better and cheaper than any other sattelite internet service there is no real alternative.

Musk's loathsome politics don't change the fact that money spent a SpaceX gets us taxpayers good value. I wish there was an alternative, but there isn't. And there isn't likely to be any time in the next decade. SpaceX is way ahead of every other launch provider. So far ahead in technology that no one is close to competing.
