What's the difference between uni-directional and bi-directional? I would guess I want a bi-directional? Can you expound on this? 73s

I have a GR1225 Repeater. It's only putting out about half watt. It is a 45 watt UHF. The original pa I believe is bad. I changed it out with a m120 pa for testing. But in the programming software for power adjustments it's only going up to 127. Well below even low power settings. High power over 400 should be. Any idea why? Probably why it's not putting out. Any software secrets keeping me from turning it up? Any help appreciated. Thanks

Just curious is this software the same as the software that programs the m1225 mobiles ?

Yes. The entire 1225 line (mobile, portable and repeater) uses the same RSS. The catch 22 is if you have a 1225-LS...then you need the LS specific RSS.

Can you provide the specs for the Motorola RIB you used for this?

For this video, I used a Motorola Smart RIB (functions as a standard RIB).

Im trying to build a repeater with 2 m1225’s , got the cable that goes on 16 pin port and when i go to software and program pins i dont see all pins , my list of pins start at number 4, can you tell me what pins have to be set

Repeater Builder's Maxtrac/GM300 pages would be the best thing to reference as those 16 pin repeater cables are based off of those radios specifically. The RSS will only let you change pins that are classified as GPIO aside form the audio settings on the audio pins.

Great video, thanks! Any tricks to bring it below 444 on TX? Appreciate any help...

I believe the "SHIFT" trick works on 1225s. SHIFT+number while entering out of band frequency. So 443.5125 would be entered as $$#.%!@%

Can you do some video’s on P25 conventional talk groups on Quantar?

I'm trying to think back...I don't think the Quantar cares about the talkgroup though there may be a setting in specific firmware (upgrade options) where the talk group can be used for multiple access purposes. I think I had a customer that did that at one point in time but I'd have to go back and see if I still have the codeplug or reach out to that former customer and ask.

Its a UHF 1-10W model. They were available in three different power options, 1-10W, 10-25W and 25-50W.
